    I have osteoarthritis and have problems with my right knee and less with the left. Recently, I have experienced sciatica pain in my right leg and am going through Physiotherapy and nerve stimulation therapy. The results can vary from very effective to mildly so. I’m an 82 year old woman in fairly good health except for this. I refused knee replacement surgery a year ago advised for my right knee only. Please advise.

    Just do not understand why there is a relationship between vision and knee pain due to degenerative arthritis!

    • @drewvanzee3063
      @drewvanzee3063 15 днів тому

      I get it. It took me awhile to understand also. Basically, the mistake we tend to make is focusing too much on where we’re experiencing pain. Reality is, pain is just a warning sign from your brain. And you can make your brain feel more comfortable about moving your body when you improve important body systems, like your vision. Make a bit more sense?

      Over 4 yrs ago I had a total hip replacement, rt side. The surgeon shattered the greater trochanter breaking my gluts free from the femur. He corrected with a claw plate, wires and screws. Uphill battle, but getting around short distances with a 4-5 pain level. Now when I stand on that leg, there is a pain and bulge on the distal- lateral side of the knee which I minimize w/ an IT Band strap. How do I tell if it's the knee or a connective tissue injury to the IT band? This bulge is also closer to the lower end of the femur somewhat above the knee and goes away when the leg is unloaded. Very painful w/out support from tape and/or the IT Band strap in place.

    • @drewvanzee3063
      @drewvanzee3063 15 днів тому

      @@jimhahn5799 Hmm. Good question and sorry to hear that story. You should be able to tell if it’s the hip by doing exercises for the hip and then seeing how the knee feels after. What may help your hip is, soft tissue work to make sure the appropriate muscles are firing, isometrics, nerve glides, hip mobility. Poke around my channel and see if working on those things helps the knee. If so great, if not try working on other exercises specifically for the knee. Hope that helps!

    I have had a dysfunction somewhere that prevented me from standing up symetrically and I had recent right knee pain. I have tried many exercises focusing on muscles. I knew my left shoulder was dysfunctional but have never figured it out. The elbow circles in this video solved my right leg dysfunction. It was the left arm that couldn't do the elbow circles. What is the neurological connection between the muscles of the eyes and the knees.?

    • @drewvanzee3063
      @drewvanzee3063 17 днів тому

      Great question. Basically your eyes tell your body how to move. And when you converge or diverge (look in or away) that movement is associated with flexion and extension, or bending and straightening your knee. But, your nervous system acts as one, and anything you can do to reduce the perception of threat to your brain (like see better) the less reason your brain has to send out pain and stiffness :)
