    Did you even know that alexander hamilton used to be by peggy’s side when she was dying of a common cold and was constantly there to give her comfort even when he had work. did you even know that i talked to the broadway cast on instagram. No hate but im just saying that you have no idea what hamilton even is and i know better than u and i have the book

    I did my first musical ever (SpongeBob) and got Patrick. Funnest 2 months of my life. Now it's over and all the joy and distraction from the real world is gone. No more practices and fun rehearsals. I feel so empty now and it was the happiest I have been in along time. So thank you.

    3:02 totally get what you’re saying with the fly line. i see it as • you’re just a fly = the little guys • the little guys? they kill for fun flies (you) are little guys and ‘they’ (society/the system/etc) kill little guys fun fun. the order in which it’s worded is for sure unclear. makes me think of a quote from bojack horseman: “we’re all just tiny bugs right?” 2:42 and yes melchior has gotta be a pretentious asshole who just read nietzsche for the first time and thinks he knows more than literally anyone else who has ever lived 🫠 4:18 “stop all snow blind may not be true” just like “they say you go blind maybe it’s true” is at least in part referencing masturbation and the myth that if you masturbate you’ll go blind bc of the sexual repression of the catholic church

      with dds moritz is saying he’s so done with sadness he’s done with the pain he doesn’t do it like he’s making up his mind not to do it anymore by killing himself. he doesn’t need it in his life, he doesn’t want any part of it, he’s done his time etc etc. LOVE your wording though. gonna quote that. your delivery in your videos is so fun. for bw spring and summer represent hope and joy. she’s like yes winter and autumn make you depressed, but think about spring and summer and the good times we had and the hope and birth and warmth etc. yes there are bad times but there are also good times. she’s BEGGING him to focus on spring and summer and he just can’t. he’s done. he’s done with the pain. he’s done with sadness. also it’s incredibly relevant to the text!! seasons are used throughout to represent time and change and the cyclical nature of being alive. light can’t exist without dark, spring and summer and winter and autumn can’t exist without each other. the show is spring awakening. weather is everywhere in the show. hail/rain, winter wind/blue wind, spring awakening. spring and summer, autumn and winter, snow, storms, etc.

      for reference i know american sign language so i have two versions of the show in my head simultaneously: the dwsa asl version and the text version. the asl clarifies the hell out of these metaphors. speaking of which, as a hard of hearing person, THANK YOU FOR CAPTIONING YOUR VIDEOS BECAUSE I CAN ACTUALLY WATCH THEM 🤟🤟🤟

    Good explanation of the movie thanks. Here is what is missed: Jesus = Je-S-Us = He-Is-Us. That was his real teachings.That we are all collectively god, there is no other. We are the eternal life force which animates our physical bodies. This is the second coming of Jesus. When we all wake up as Jesus and out of the adulthood fully activated fear based obsessive thoughts mind machine. The group of cold blooded reptilians, behind the scenes playing as god, used Jesus as a pawn to modernize and create a New Testament to make god sound less brutal especially with the creation of the idea of a devil. Then they locked Jesus out of returning to their Plan-net, Plan-It, Planet, in spite of him promising he would return. When Jesus incarnated he didn't understand why we had become lost. He didn't see what our mind machine was all about. You better learn Self forgiveness introspective writing is your Desteni, to stop your addiction to obsessive thoughts and so rebirth yourself as a child again in a way your true innocent standing in the present, true self. Plato got it wrong, just look at the animals and babies. He should have said "I think therefore I am a robot and consciousness is a CON". Take care

    I think you should of done more research. The show was based on a real show and the Original Film was different. The original TV show was actually integrated. The buddy Dean show had a girl like Tracy. The black kids taught her how to do moves on the show. Buddy Dean was not racist but as soon as the show WAS integrated it was soon cancelled. There is lots of history and backstory you choose not to research. Plus the story is different from the musical and original 1987 film. Your lines are blurred.

    Brad and Janet in the beginning are the young adults that parents dream their child would grown up to be. Clean, smart, childhood sweethearts becoming a family. The characters and situations in Rocky Horror are the demands that society puts on young people, peer pressure, sexualization, exploitation...ect and Brad and Janet come out of it as a big disappointment to their parents. Brad discovers he's gay and Janet discovers she likes having sex with many different men.

    I figured This Is Not an Exit was meant to sound pretentious and empty because that's how the character feels especially now that it seems his actions might not even be real. You could argue that it's rather redundant when the rest of the show already portrays this and that they could have done something else with the song, but I don't feel like the point of it is to excuse the character, so much as the character desperately trying to spin something meaningful out of the vacuousness out of his own existence, but coming up short.

  • @strawberrysoulforever8336

    There is nothing wrong with making a villain more sympathetic than they were if it serves the story well. Same with making a villain less sympathetic. This musical does both. No need to pick on the one that got the former treatment.

    OKAY sorry but Moritz singing "I don't do sadness" feels very intentional? Like, considering the scene it can be read into a few different ways. a. He is fed up with being sad, he is sick of constantly 'doing sadness' and wants it to stop. b. He is trying to convince *himself* that he doesn't do sadness and is attempting to talk himself down from the ledge. c. He is commenting on how those around him, specifically his parents, expect him to behave. He is incapable of living up to their expectations. They don't understand (or at least he feels that they don't understand) what he is going through. They don't care about his feelings, they are dismissive: they want him to cast aside his "sadness" and become a model student, a son they be proud of. This song is sarcastic, in this regard. Personally, I believe a combination of all three of these to be true. I'm sure there are other ways of interpreting this song, but it does make sense? But the point, I believe, is that Moritz refuses to do sadness anymore. As for Ilse's part, many other people in this comment section have done fantastic breakdowns of color as a metephor in Spring Awakening. No hate, this is just my opinion obviously but I think too much of this video is just going "hm well when I read this metephor at face value without considering it's larger place within the text it doesn't make any sense!"

  • @desdar100
    @desdar100 Рік тому

    I definitely understand the point, but it feels incredibly hyperbolic to interpret Hamilton this way. Hamilton wasn't just creative by Miranda, but numerous hip-hop artists like black thought, LL Cool J, and many others to subvert the traditional Norms of Broadway and actually managed to succeed. Hamilton as of 2023 Thelma is one of the highest-grossing Broadway shows of all time and when too many doors being opened for various POC that participated in it. Throwing a bunch of actors of color under the bus because the play doesn't come off as far left as you want started it, isn't the progressive take you think it is.

    I’m only a quarter into the video. Honestly, I assumed that all the 90s vernacular and actor references were because the story was supposed to take place in the 90s. Also, apparently, you can’t be white in New Jersey without being Italian, hence the Joe Pesci and Robert Dinero references.
