    Both my Blue mountain rifles just hammer. My Rimx with the benchmark eats everything and is stupid accurate.

    That’s about the dumbest thing I’ve ever seen. Get a normal rifle. Y’all have completely missed the point of muzzleloading season altogether.

    • @BlueMountainPrecision
      @BlueMountainPrecision 3 місяці тому

      So accuracy is Dumb? We are into 1 shot kills and being that our rifle shop name carries the precision name why would we build anything Stone Age?

    • @petrosspetrosgali
      @petrosspetrosgali 3 місяці тому

      @@BlueMountainPrecision the entire point of having a muzzleloader season is to get back to the roots of rifle hunting. These modern “black powder” rifles poop all over the reason there is a muzzleloading season. What’s next? A high powered rifle that shoots arrows for bow season? If you think you need to shoot with high tech ammo and have sub MOA accuracy when hunting DONT USE A MUZZLELOADER.🧐

    What I would like to see is a company like this one make a modern version of the Neeedle Rifle. Such a rifle would be ideal.. If my eyes had not failed me ending my career as a machinist I would have chosen a modified Chassepot designfiring a load consisting of two or three pelletized powder grains held together with a nitrocellulose based glue and to hold the bullet. Such a glue would also make the cartridge stiffer and water proof

    • @dickgoesinya9419

      Neither Jeff or Luke are the founders of smokeless muzzleloaders. Richard Franklin was building smokeless muzzleloaders long before anyone. Jeff is a great custom rifle builder and started building smokeless muzzleloaders after learning of Richard Franklins design. The weak link of Franklins guns were the ignition and Jeff designed his own ignition system which is the best on the market. Jeff copied just about everything else from Franklin. Even his first load/bullet combo was straight from Franklin 78gr. of IMR 4198 and a Parker 278gr BE bullet. Jeff builds the finest guns and makes most of the parts himself in his shop. Luke got his start copying guys like Dave D and Edge on the Dougs message board.

    For the record, my last hunting trip of 2022 was with a smokeless muzzleloader. I was in my stand for about 3 hours and I shot 4 times. I killed, in order, a tree limb (about 20' from the muzzle instead of hitting the cote that was 85 yds away), 2 coyotes, and a nice doe which was the 15th deer that I saw that morning. During all but the last of my reloads, I had yet another coyote pass by. Turns out they had built a den about 40 yds behind my stand. That was, by far, the most shooting I've ever done in a single morning of hunting. 1 shot normally does the trick, but I never go out without my ramrod and enough for 2 or 3 more shots. :) I do love smokeless muzzleloaders, but be aware, when loaded hot, they do a LOT of damage to the game animal, and more than just a little to your shoulder.

    I bought a 22lr from Eric and he is absolutely correct. You CAN put two consecutive bullets in the same hole at 50 yards. I haven't gotten out to the 75/100 yd. targets yet. My rifle shoots straight and will hit where I point it. Because of it's accuracy, I have been able to improve my shooting skills. My groups have tightened up big time. Now I know when I'm off target a bit, that I have done something wrong and can tell a lot better where MY error lies. Best rifle I have ever owned. Thanks Eric for a great rifle, it shoots circles around my Anschutz 64.

    I have serious doubts about blueprinting an action. I say forget it and get a quality barrel. I’ve had 2 action tried that shot better but they received new barrels at the same time. The 3rd rem 700 had only a new barrel put on. It shot just as good as the tried actions.

    • @equalleftrights3130
      @equalleftrights3130 Рік тому

      You mean TL3. Yes, all newer custom actions accept prefits. Bighorn makes great actions. I own 2 TL3s and a Lone Peak Fuzion and like the Bighorns a little more. Bighorns actually run a little better when filthy, in sand and mud, they're workhorses.

    • @zoidelux
      @zoidelux Рік тому

      @@equalleftrights3130 yea TL3, i know they take prefits but wasn’t sure about timing of the threads, seems like they are timed as the proof logo on the barrel lined up exactly where it should be, well since this comment I built a new rifle off an SR3, proof carbon 7mm rem mag barrel, gunwerks magnus stock, definitely very happy with it, working on a load for it with 180 eldm freedom seeds :)
