The live sound they have is pretty hard to replicate on most of their UA-cam video's. This particular livestream video they even swapped instruments after this. It wasn't a serious livestream. MV300万再生記念Thanks Movie (We Love sweets) and (Pardon Me, I Have To Go Now) - LIVE AT LIQUIDROOM have a good live sound. Even then its still not quite loud and wild enough on UA-cam compared to the live.

Don't judge them off of that live you watched, they are much better than that.

Yeah they are a lot tighter live. I saw them late last year when they toured Australia.

They started as a Maximum the Hormone cover band in High School and it shows (song structure, band structure, vocals, chaos), they recently graduated University (they are about 25). Their earlier stuff doesn't have the polish the newer stuff does, age and experience and budget.

But their more recent stuff is amazing too and you can't go wrong reacting to their more popular songs like Be the GAL and Pardon Me, I Have to Go Now.

Many vocal coaches say that his voice is that of a rock balladeer and he is a lyrical tenor, his voice is as warm as it is powerful in the high notes. His new album really is his identity. Another great reaction and analysis. Iine is another one of my favorite BM songs (I seem to say that a lot!) from the first album. And with or without the rap section of the original, still a driving, infectious rhythm and melody that make it hard to sit still while it's playing! Great double reaction, thanks! "Iine" is probably their craziest song. It was the second one after "Doki Doki Morning" if we consider official releases (March 2012), although they had premiered live "Ijime, Dame, Zettai" before (July 2011). I just love seeing them performing this happy. 😊

Of all the WTF?! Babymetal songs, Iine!! is the most WTF. Iine was second Babymetal song released, so it's from the days when they were very much still experimenting with what "kawaii metal" was going to sound like. It was played live a lot up until Yui's stopped performing in 2017, but then It wasn't performed at all for six year up until PIA Arena in 2023. I was at PIA Arena and everyone in the crowd was shocked, because most of us had given up hope of them ever performing it live again, and because Momometal had never performed it before. Once everyone realized what was going on, the crowd gave 110% since we didn't know if it was going to be a one off. They actually played it a few more times during the Asia/Australia leg of the 2023 world tour, so I got to see it live three more times when they were in Australia.

Right towards the end of your reaction you touched on one of Babymetal's true superpowers...consistency. It's one reason I can really enjoy a good compilation. You get to see however many different shows. Each with it's own stage set-up, different lights et al. And every single show is of the same high calibre. Thanks again.

Great to see you back Jaron, Happy New Year (can I still say that now on 28 Jan?). This is a filler track for me, but when I view it in the rear-vision mirror it really holds significance within BM's catalogue. Babymetal have progressed so much, however, it's still fun to watch where they came from. Iine was a very early track that was aimed at young girls with the hope of giving a soft entry for them to gain exposure to some heavier music, within a cute setting. Mission accomplished.

You are watching (in my opinion) this at the appropriate time in your BABYMETAL journey.

Bringing back this song was probably the biggest surprise of the Babymetal Returns shows. And they even played it afterwards on the Asia / Australia leg of their 2023 tour. Bassist BOH said the song is actually play because it was made with electronic music from a machine, so it was never made to play live. When you talk about polished, the song hadn't been performed for almost 6 years (short of less than a month) and never performed by the Western Kami Band. What was interesting, iine was partly inspired by what Electric Callboy's (they had a different name then and like Babymetal no album yet, 2010, 2011 era). My guess is an other big influence was Crossfaith ?

Nice! I believe this song was heavily inspired by Eskimo Callboy way back before they were Electric Callboy. And now they’ve come full circle with the Ratatata collab! 🤘🦊

Unfortunately the mix of iine! found on who?'s channel isn't the best. It is a relic from the Wowow broadcast which they only do a passable mix to get it out. The Blu-ray mix is always a major overhaul.
