In this instance there is some reference to an incident in their hotel on tour when the girls all got together in one room for a late night snack party. They spread their snacks of choice on the bed - Su and Yui had brought sweets, Moa had dried squid arms - a snack most usually eaten by middle aged men with their beer. Su and Yui teased Moa that eating dried squid made her look like a small middle aged man. In a recent interview Su, Moa and Momo revealed they still enjoy their "chip parties" when they are on tour with their various chip snacks and dips.🍕🦑🍫🥡

Have read translations of the lyrics before but this video and many of the posted comments below have brought to light some interesting stuff about this song that I didn't know before. I like it even more now! Also, I second the suggestions for reacting to "iine" - one of their earliest and most entertaining and fun songs.

Believe it or not, up to five people have credits for composing this song.They are: Shinichi Fujita, Ryuji Yokoi, Kazuki Higashihara, Shuhei Takahashi and Rie Tsujimoto. And we even have to add Norikazu Nakayama for writing the lyrics alongside Fujita and Yokoi. This pretty much seems a collaborative work. Shout-out to Kobametal (as always) for being the person who commissions and put all the resources together (it's funny... and sad at the same time, when he gets hate from a part of the fandom). To answer an unusually civil comment (from you) with an unusually non-sarcastic answer (from me to you). I agree in part, but Gimme Chocolate, is probably played for the newer fans in the audience. The other songs you listed could be saved for a special occasions in the future and put out as live videos on their channel, like they did with Yava and Syncopation, the longer they wait the more 'classic' the songs get. There may be new Black Babymetal songs in the future, but Momo singing Yui's old Black Babymetal songs is doubtful.

But it was arranged and produced by Yuyoyuppe, lol🤩. The dub step and EDM sounds are classic Yuppe from around that time. An absolute masterclass in his glitchy EDM / metalcore breakdowns (apart FDTD which is awesome) is a song called 'undermine' he wrote for a singer called '浮気者' (Adulterer) back in 2013. It's more EDM / rock than metal but it still goes hard. His remix of Headbanger (night of 15 mix) is a banger as well, they played it live twice.

It was more complex and had more humor. It was fun. It was made for three kids, but with a very professional touch. Now, when the kids are grown up ladies it is much more difficult to make something fun. So, they are only making collaborations. Nothing new that is exclusive the ladies? Maybe the Metali was their own, with Tom Morello just playing guitar. So, maybe that one is a new Babymetal only. But I mean - "Catch me if you can", totally whimsical. There is so much old stuff that is very innovative and also playful. The Electric Callboy collaboration has the fun part - but as far as I know, most of the fun stuff is invented by Electric Callboy even if it is said to be a 50/50 collaboration. But the girls had it fun there, and there are some totally adorable Babymetal parts, so I will give them this one also. Otherwise, not much Babymetal exclusive new stuff today.

Once again a superb reaction/analysis/review of a BABYMETAL classic that is thoughtful, insightful and informative. Watching this Budokan performance of Uki Uki Midnight always does something to me. It always makes me realize how there are so many LIVE song/performances of these young ladies and their Kami's that for that instance become my favorite each time that I experience them. I am truly sorry for people who have not experienced their LIVE performances either in person or through HQ Pro Shots and have only listened to maybe one song or MV and written them off as inconsequential and never taste their brilliance again.
Babymetal on the pop and dubstep side... they toured with Lady Gaga as an opener as part of Babymetal's first World Tour and they performed Gimme Choco at a Skrillex performance in Japan, some festival. Not terribly interesting performance at the Shrillex show (Babymetal fans love seeing an engaging crowd), but interesting that it happened. I wish they picked Uki Uki Midnight instead or did both.

I personally think the best version is from a channel called who?, it’s a live compilation but the audio is from one show, the editing is pretty good so it’s not really out of sync with the song.
