As a fitter do you find yourself matching someone who fits into driver with black into blue for their fairway woods?
@@gregfierro5454 sometimes, but not as often as you think. They are very different profiles. Red goes better with black as opposed to blue.
@@SydneyGolfTech now I’m scared. My fitter fit me into black + driver then blue + 3 wood. We didn’t try red. I’m hoping the new plus models feel closer than the OG
@ I’m sure your fitter had reasons why he fitted you that way.
Love this review Greg - more videos please :D. Can vouch for the performance of this ball have seen it in action
Hi Greg, have you played the last model, the RB X was a great ball! Is the X much the same?
@@andrewmathrick4791 I have never played a mizuno ball before so I can’t comment on the old ball. All reports are that the new one is much better.
Hi, did u trim 0.5 inch for the tour ad DI hyb shaft? I was referring to their website it says 19-22 hybrid loft should be trimmed 0.5”
@@farrelpramadito1703 yes. Everything here is trimmed as per manufacturer recommendations.
I found the previous gen way too spinny (RB Tour?), and the covers would melt off after 3-4 well struck wedges, interested to hear what you think of these after a bit more time with them, cheers Greg
@@locobenno9435 I heard the previous ball was ordinary but all reports are that the new ball is much better and longer lasting. I always start a round with a new ball so if it gets me through 18, I’m happy.
Hey mate - good to see u back…what could I do for lessons or assistance on my swing if I live in Brissy? Struggling to get my speed up above 100mph with driver…love the simplicity of ur swing & the speed it creates…also keen on a vid on the new Srixon irons & considering making the change from T100’s
It's why I switched to srizon z star as it doesn't spin too much like pro Vs I play on the wind and feel less spin is the go
@@nevvanclarke9225 I find Z Star to be extremely spinny. The XV is low spin but hard as a rock. The Diamond was easily the best of both worlds for me.
@@SydneyGolfTech I used some of the Mizuno balls from a few years ago. I actually found them really good. I can't remember what model it was.
Great review! I dont know if you mentioned the price of either compared to the Pro v1 models. Thanks for showing the data also.
@@MrSig-ye8hq they retail for AUD $74 and I think Pro v are about AUD $99 a dozen.
Sounds to me like the best course of action is to hit up on the ball and hit the center of the clubface. Presto! Low-spinning, long distance drives. Now get yourself some impact spray or tape and hit the range. Stop wasting money on equipment and put the (effective) work in, and you'll see great results!
TrackMan is more accurate with driver carry. Foresight is notorious for inflated driver carry numbers. I owned both for quite some time, and TrackMan was more accurate all around when using RCT. Impact location was also more accurate on TrackMan. Quad is also awful on AoA as confirmed with machine vision. Quad is also well known for being slightly draw biased. I know Quad owners don’t want to admit it, but TrackMan is more accurate especially when using RCT.
@@tomhammond478 there’s no chance TM is more accurate on club data. It’s the main reason there are as many quads on tour as Trackmans. TM is not great on impact location or AofA. Quad is spot on every time. I will admit that there is the occasional boost on quad with shots high on the face.
@@SydneyGolfTech You’re 100% incorrect on literally everything you just wrote. There are far more players on the major tours using and own TM4 than Quad. I would know considering I witness it personally. You see Quads on the tour ranges because Foresight passes them out on the range at these events. I own both and have tested both extensively for all club data. TM4 is superior and it’s not even close! Impact position is NEVER wrong on TM4 if club parameters are input into the software. Quad is literally dreadful on impact position.
@ I don’t agree at all. I too own both and I have put it all out there on the internet for free so everyone can see it. I see impact problems with TM every day but I still teach on it because of the superior software. I’m not wrong on 100% of everything I have written. TM is poor at dealing with gear effect also. These common faults can be seen everywhere.
@@SydneyGolfTech Then you have setup issues. With proper lighting, at least 14’ ball to screen, and no interference TM4 is relatively flawless.
Can a higher handicap and newer golfer use 9 degree loft driver?
My concern is the bag wear. The heads seem like they wear the backs of the other irons from hitting up against them when walking riding?
@@markscott4059 the softer the iron, the more it will ding. No difference with any brand.
Whats you thoughts on a Tensei orange in a Mizuno ST-G 220 head with a weight of 196g ?
@@rmmrcam I’m sorry but I’m not sure what you are asking here.
Do you think a 196g head is worth the counter balance or is that head weight to light ?
Hi! what clubhead did u use?🙂
Hey greg, what shaft you recommend for easier to turn over ? Slightly draw bias, currently using qi10 9 ° , with 105 ss, thinking of 6S
@@LeoBeebe 2024 Ventus blue is pretty easy to turn over.
@ okay thanks alot mate
@@SydneyGolfTech should i go 5x or 6s for 105ss average
@ depends on your transition. I always struggle a little with X and I’m at a similar speed.
@@SydneyGolfTech alright 6s it is, thankss
Hey mate don't know if you still check your messages on the channel but I thought I'll ask a question and I know everyone needs to get fitted but where I live I just can't because there's no fitting centre here. Really I was looking at the NS pro range but looking at the Neo which is a 95 g shaft. I'm 55 now I don't want to use graphite. I just do not like to feel of them and don't feel inspired to use graphite clubs but the Neo is quite light and launching reasonably well. Have you had any experience fitting people with that shaft just in general? What are your thoughts? Any advice you can give me? Is truly appreciated. I'm gonna put them into a set of Mizuno JPX923 forged
@@nevvanclarke9225 I know that Nippon make an exceptional product but I haven’t fitted many people into them. Often it’s so soft in the tip that it can reduce dynamic loft for some players. They are extremely smooth and feel great though. Not sure why you have ruled out graphite. Despite most people’s views, I have been playing graphite for 7 years and can’t see myself going back to steel.
@SydneyGolfTech Yeah, I will give it some thought.I don't have a fittinf centre where I am
@ what graphite shafts are you using?
@ I have been using fujikura pro iron shafts for all of that time. Thinking about a change though.
@@SydneyGolfTech I've always thought we probably should play graphite in our 4-5-6-7 irons and then play a light steel shaft in the scoring irons?
How dose the modus compare to NS pro 950 GH
Really interesting video, so you swung the lighter club quite a bit faster thus you saw a few mph extra ball speed despite that clubs swingweight being 5 points heavier, the other club with its heavier shaft swingweighted much lower but you weren't able to swing it as fast, I was looking to do a similar test with 2 hybrids but I think that I will swing the one with the lighter total weight but a heavier swingweight the fastest but it will be an interesting experiment.
This video solved a huge question about why I swivel my head mid stoke to the left.
@@mattk2531 it’s your eye dominance for sure.
TSR had 2 mph swing speed less and so 2 mph ball speed is expected. I have the TSI2 and tried TSR2 and GT2...what I found was my TSI2 spun around 2500 ave, TSR 2200, GT1800 My swing speed is around 90 mph so GT doesn't spin enough to keep it in the air They are always trying to make it go further but in the GT case you need higher swing speed for more distance. I hit my TSI2 the farthest of them all ...15 launch 2500 spin
The putters both opened and closed the same amount because they had the same lie angle
I think face angle change is only gonna be dependent on lie angle
@@marcelmullet5531 I’m not exactly sure what you mean here.
Lie angle balance is supposed to finish toe up just like it was when you were spinning it
@@marcelmullet5531 it actually does when spun on a friction free surface. This was an oversight by me in the video.
Found an RX and played it. Liked it and lost it. Just bought a box and will play it next game. It’s got it all I reckon.
@@MHack-g6d it’s a great ball for sure. Bridgestone make great products.
I'd give up distance for dispersion every time. There's a big difference between playing off the fairway vs from the rough. I lean towards playing with a heavier weight because of the consistency but I'm getting older and heavier clubs affect my game towards the end of the round. So I think there's more to consider when making decisions on swing weight or shaft weight
@@plusfour1 statistics actually show that the further you hit it, the better the result, regardless of whether or not you are in the rough. The old adage of f giving up distance for accuracy is no longer the best way to play golf.
Hi, I play the Gen6 P. Going this week for a fitting for the T. Was also thinking getting a combo set {9/PW} in ST or CB} Use a vokey wedge for my GW and two others. Hit these well and think surely they shouldn’t be harder to hit the ST or CB in a short club? Just looking your thoughts?
@@nigelloughlin4539 I’m interested in why you are going for a fitting with a particular head. The T is much smaller than the P. I actually feel like there could be a model in between them as the difference is quite big. If you can hit the T heads, you won’t have any trouble with CB or ST I’d say.
Cheers for that. The only reason I was looking for the T was, the research I done everyone said the T was more forgiving? I will hit them all (heads) and see myself now. Thanks for reply 💥🏌️
@ the T is definitely not more forgiving than the P. I didn’t find much of a difference between the T and CB.
Good review. The 2024 Red6+ S-flex & x-flex are weighted the same. Which did u use in the comparison? Thanks
Amazing video Greg! Did the VF 5S became your gamer for 2024?
Based on this I have just subscribed. This is absolutely brilliant explanation of causes of back spin / spin using a driver. A really practical non technical simple to understand precise definition of cause and effect. Please can you do a follow up video which concentrates on the effect reducing back spin has on increasing the roll out. So optimising total distance especially for those average joe golfers like me who no longer have the high swing speeds of younger players. Please also add in a discussion on wrist angles maybe the effect of bowing the wrist into impact and maybe moving into extension in the follow through? Myles
You keep saying you’ll never really know, of course you can if you bring them outside with a helper & range finder?
@@tlux22 there are too many influences outside. Temperature and wind are the biggest 2.
So why is there a rule about shaft lie angle - surely 90 degrees would benefit
@@anthonyforrester3539 yes I’m sure 90 degrees would benefit so maybe that’s why it’s banned. Possibly takes some skill out of putting.
I use a version of the shaft puller you have, works great, no other device needed. Love your guys channel. Keep up the great work. CHEERS!
With a dynamic loft close to 20 and the AoA at 6.2. Resulting at a peak of 40m. That's on the high end. My guess is that the shaft is tip heavy. Don't know your driver length, head weigth or grip weight but d5 is sort of normal today with 46.5 drivers. More interested in the MOI of the club.
@TheMcfreeze @SydneyGolfTech I think it's important to note that when looking at different shaft models frequency doesn't make much sense for the reasons mentioned in the video. However, when building a set of irons that are using the same shaft model with the same EI profile, frequency matching can and does make sense. When you buy a set of irons off the rack there will be variations in the frequency matching due mostly to inconsistent headweights and possibly some other minor factors. It can result in one or two clubs just being off enough that you struggle with them and that can lower your overall consistency and confidence level of the whole set. Making sure the final build of a set of irons that use the same shaft are consistent club to club gives players a lot of confidence that they know what to expect. The reason you don't see frequency machines in tour trucks is because they're using tour spec equipment that's all been sorted for weight and accuracy. The variations that can cause mismatching frequencies are basically eliminated before hand so they still end up with frequency matching gear, just without having to measure for it.
@@JRM8047 as CPM changes with head weight, the absolute best way to build a set of clubs is with swing weight. Match the swing weight and the frequency will be just fine.
But you're talking $350USD difference in cost for that slight difference in feel. Really?
@@jamesgerboc I’m not sure what you mean here. All are velocore models that are $350 USD, so where is the difference?
@SydneyGolfTech I thought you were comparing to non-V shafts.

Good morning from the States! What tempo and swing speed would be a starting point to look at the DI in a 6X untipped? I tried the DI 6S briefly and it felt soft. I know feel is very subjective
@@marioncriswell2971 in all honesty, if the S feels soft, then try the X. Usually a ballpark speed would be about 105 where that happens. I’m around that mark but I’m not particularly aggressive in transition so I always play stiff rather than X.
Unfortunately, all these videos prove to be basically useless to the average golfer. What we really need to do is find somebody who is a very low handicap and swings in your swing speed range. They should have videos like this set up where one guy has a swing speed of 70-80 mph, another at 80-90 mph, another at 90-100 mph, another at 100-110 mph, and maybe another at 110-120. Players need to find a guy with a similar swing speed so that the assessments will get them in a more useful ballpark for themselves. A guy who swings 82 mph with a driver is not gonna gain any information from this video from someone swinging with over 110 mph. I have this complaint with everyone who puts up these type of videos because I feel strongly that the player needs to find someone in their range in order to get some useful information. If there could be a series of videos where you list the swing speed range in the title, that will help people very much get better information for themselves. Just a thought. I’m a 1 handicap by the way, so this isn’t coming from some weekend hack. Just someone who’s always seeking out information and I think this is a much better way of doing it.
@@10MFAN find me a player that hits the centre, has the qualifications and insight to make an educated comment that also swings at 70 that wants to give out free information to everyone on UA-cam. It’s a hard person to find. I’m sorry that you find my videos useless. Hopefully somebody finds some value in them.
Watched your other vids - this is great content! Fellow Aussie too! Side question I’m 172cm / 5”8 ish. Average arm span. Would you say (based on your length), 45.25 playing sounds about right? The blue velocore+ 5s excites me… but going back and forth on length.
How is the blue tr vs blue velo+? And why not try 5s if you like it lighter? Preference?
I was originally fitted to the Tensei white on an AI Smoke TD Max. Gamed it for some time but ended up switching to a Ventus black because I was over spinning with a stiff shaft and that profile. I miss the feeling, and actually just got a ventus white in TX to compare to my VB TR in X stiff. My ball flight with the ventus is great, but I find myself losing the center of the face as I can’t feel the club load at the top of my swing.
Lol your easy shots are me absolutely smashing them lol
I bought a Ping G430 Light version. Couldn't get on with 430 as it was far too light. Got rid of the 430 and bought a Ping G425. It was a heavier swingweight. Could feel it great at D4 swingweight and got back to hitting Fairways at a good yardage Off the Tee.
