Some brief footage from a recent trip to Italy with mates, where we did a few day walks in the Dolomite Mountains. The first was the Tre Cime de Lavaredo loop, around some impressive peaks, followed by some shorter walks at Lago di Braies and Lago di Dobbiaco.

A good day walk to Beeby's Hut in Mount Richmond Forest Park. I took the Beeby's Knob route and reached the hut after a couple of hours and about 800m elevation gain. After a quick lunch stop at the hut, I returned the same way as some weather closed in.

An amazing overnight loop tramp in Nelson Lakes National Park. Starting from Mt Robert Road, I head to Hopeless Hut for the night, via the Travers Valley. The next morning, I make my way up and over the sporadically marked Sunset Saddle to emerge above the Angelus tops, and walk out on the popular Robert Ridge route. On this 3 day tramp, I explore the popular Mt Arthur and Tableland area in Kahurangi National Park. Starting from the Flora carpark, I pass Flora Hut and the awesome, unique rock shelters on my way to the open tussocklands that surround Balloon Hut. On the way out of the Cobb Valley, I stop to day trip into Asbestos Cottage, a historic structure with an incredible backstory. It was an easy 2 hour walk one way, passing the old asbestos mine and artefacts on the way.

An easy but scenic trip from the Cobb Reservoir in Kahurangi National Park. I walk the well graded track up past the hut and spend the afternoon checking out Sylvester and Iron Lakes, before heading back to the hut for the night.

My first time tramping in Kahurangi National Park, and it was a stunning introduction. After heading into Boulder Lake Hut at the northern end of the park, I decide to extend my original overnight plans by adding another day to visit Adelaide Tarn and Hut, and was glad I did. An overnight trip along the Wakamarina Track in Mount Richmond Forest Park. I head to Fosters Hut for the night, via Devils Creek Hut, which took about five hours each way. There was some interesting gold mining history and gorgeous mature beech forest along the well graded, shared MTB track.

A nice overnight walk in Ruahine Forest Park, to Triangle Hut via Rangiwahia Hut. The plan was to spend the night at Triangle, but having missed the information it was closed for maintenance, I headed back to Rangiwahia for the night.

An amazing 4 days of tramping in Kaweka Forest Park. I walk a loop from Te Puia, first staying at Makino Hut. The next day I walk to Ballard Hut via Mangaturutu and Venison Tops Huts.
