Video was helpful! Great product
@@rudetailing4694 glad you enjoyed it
Great install. Seems easy! Thank you!
@@rudetailing4694 very easy to install! Product is top quality!
should have used flat angle on the back surface to join the corner - that way there is ZERO chance of you hitting metal and ruining your field tips and definitely your broadheads. and perhaps damage your arrow shaft
@@michaelbradford6990 luckily we haven’t missed yet 😂😂
anyway you can cut up mattress topper foam and shove it in there or even better before stapling the cover on cut it in 12" strips and layer it and make sure to get it in kinda tight.
@@Radiation_Day sounds like a good idea! Might have to try that!
i use hay bales covered by memory foam bed toppers. really cheap. hay is cheap. can get a 1200lbs round bale for $40-$50. matress toppers are pretty cheap as well and spray paint on the targets with red matte paint or whatever color you like.
@@Radiation_Day that sounds like an excellent idea!
@@yaknlife6894 hey works well. if for nothing more than making a wall you can shoot at lol.
The new ones come with a better end cap. You should try and you a set. They just slip over the ends and are better in my opinion.
@@nelhead4807 thanks! I’ll have to see if I can get a set!
@ no problem I definitely would try to upgrade. I’m sure they’ll take care of ya their a great company.
i keep reading the material on the bottom deteriorates in time
@@LoveLikeaHurricane so far mine has been perfectly fine and I use it often. I guess time will tell!
Its a very handsome kayak. Beautiful color. Its is closer to a skiff than a kayak imo. I'd like to have one in my fleet. I have to where a wetsuit to go fishing in my scupper pro 15 during the winter. This would be a really nice contrast to my old scupper
12 years ago Was On a canoe picking up lures on a low lake on tree stumps. Then I see this kils fly rod and Orvis Battenkill 5/6 made in England being drag by a big trout. Ate the trout thinking on trying this fly fishing gig. Thanks for the video I know nothing on fly fishing.
@@Dano896 I honestly knew nothing about fly fishing myself! Got into it this year and it’s a blast! Most of my fishing for the season was fly fishing because of how fun it was!
Nice🎉/ i was going to get LOWRANCE hook 9ts , what do you think
@@stevealarid2689 Lowrance makes a great unit!
Do you still have your kayak? I’m thinking about buying that exact one. Any advice?
@@michellewhite5752 yes I still have it and love it! I started a whole new upgrade series of videos on it. It’s extremely stable and wide. The only issue I have with it is that it is heavy! You definitely need a good set of wheels whether they be DIY or store bought!
Is it posible catch pike whit this rod 6wt?
@@BlueKing315 6wt might work ok! I would probably look for more of a 7 wt. I guess it all depends on how big the pike you are targeting are. 6wt would most likely be ok!
@yaknlife6894 Thank you. It helped me.
What's the big deal about drilling holes in the kayak 😂😂😂, if you don't need the hole anymore, just cover it up with a plate, like the 129 kayak, and the 130, they have drill plates, i made some drill plates for my recon, so I can remove the plate, and change out my switchs🎉
@@stevealarid2689 great idea
@yaknlife6894 great video of install, thank you for your reply, how is the Garmin 9 sv ? I looking for a unit, from: the California delta river, 👍
@ I absolutely love the 9sv. I like the side imaging!
Thank you !! Great video !!
@@jayallen7 appreciate it!
Gonna have to do this with my kayak !!
@@Guavagtag definitely recommend it
Great video !
@@HunterTAVR thank you!
Yak Power is great! I have it in my kayak! Great product and simple install!
Yes, definitely a great product and worth installing in your kayak!
I’m also thinking about getting into fly fishing and would have liked to have seen you string up the reel as I’m not sure what knots to use. Do the ends have welded loops? Also, my concern with fly fishing is needing a ton of room to back cast. I don’t want to be a nuisance to others or have to wade. What has been your experience with casting so far?
@@hunterkarr5618 it’s definitely something where you need to watch your surroundings to make sure nobody is going to be walking behind you! I haven’t had any issues with people around. Typically when they see you fly fishing, they will stay away! And yes, the ends have welded loops! In a future video, I can do one on putting line on the reel!
@@yaknlife6894 ok cool so you just use a handshake knot. But yeah any little nitty gritty details like that are fun to watch. Thanks!
Watched the full video! Excellent DIY!
Thank you!
That’s a great idea! I would have never thought of using a cutting board for a hull plate! Great idea and inexpensive!
Thank you! Hopefully you can use the idea for your kayak!
I am waiting on my 8 WT Maxcatch to arrive. It’s only been a month now. I’d suggest ordering from Amazon, as I did not and dealing with Maxcatch and their shipping is ridiculously slow.
@@Hudge76 I’ve only dealt with them on Amazon. Thank you for the heads up!
Great! Thanks for the idea, man. Doing this on my jetski instead. Much more versatile than on what we have on offer.
On a jetski would be awesome! I’d love to see that when it’s done!
I’m going to check out Yakgadgets site, I’ve been looking into more options for my kayak
They definitely have a lot of accessories you will probably be interested in! Along with that, they have under seat storage, crates, anchor systems, motor mounts and more!
Thanks so much for the awesome video. Definitely would like to talk with you soon.
@@yakgadgetjt2028 love the Quadbar!
Definitely have looked into some Yakgadget things. Just haven’t pulled the trigger! I like the idea of mounting the fish finder there!
@@rudetailing4694 so far I can recommend this Quadbar! I’ll let you guys know how it’s held up over time! I’m looking forward to trying more of their stuff!
Besides the fish finder what else can I mount on it ?
Anything you would typically mount in any of your tracks! Fish finders, cup holders, tool trays and so on.
cupholder, phone holder, tranducer arm, etc. Any track mounted type item.
I was curious about the quality of yakgadget products. Looks like a nice additon to the yak
It seems very nice! They make quite a few products that I’m planning on purchasing in the near future!
New sub! I love the looks of the Recon...I almost went that route but the size and weight intimidated me back then so I went with the Old Town PDL. Interested to see your motor setup.
@@yakkittymack it is definitely heavy. But, super stable! I truly feel the Recon is made to trailer and have motorized
Great video! Subscribed as I.m NJ too!..... Now for the trolling motor with spotlock... lol!

@@rudetailing4694 thanks! Excited to add on a few additional pieces!
Nice!!
@@drfishtackle thank you!
Fabric might stop arrows and a couple bag targets I've added a new skin to had fabric inside them. The issue I have with fabric is it not only gets extremely heavy when it rains but when its wet my arrows cut right thru the targets. I think I would fill my target with plastic first round bc the plastic wont soak up water and I'd hope after it rains my arrows don't punch thru the target. I'm curious how this target does with 4mm-5mm arrows after it rains?
@@tsi-rocket4144 after a year we’ve shot everything into the target from cheap arrows to full metal jacket arrows and small diameter axis arrows. Holding up fantastic. Haven’t even come close to half the arrow penetrating. You are correct though with the fabric getting wet and becoming very heavy. Luckily we just keep it in one spot and don’t move it much
Great job out there! I think I was actually a few rocks down from you guys lol!
@@SaltySamFishing I plan on getting back out there soon! Great times!

@@rudetailing4694 it’s definitely worth the purchase!
Any interference with the side view with the transducer location?
@@413KayakFishing not at all! Works absolutely perfectly!
Im literally deciding between the lifetime yukon and this. Is it worth the upgrade in price? Does it take a lot more energy to get this around vs the lighter lifetime?
@@markbrandt504 to be completely honest, this kayak is built much better and is without a doubt much more stable. But, it is definitely much heavier. With a kayak cart in the proper position, moving around the Recon isn’t bad. I do plan on eventually getting a trailer though for it. The Yukon is a great kayak to start with. It is definitely much lighter. It’s not as stable, because it isn’t nearly as wide as the Recon. It’s honestly going to come down to exactly what you are looking for. There is a significant price difference as well
Thanks for the review. You might want to add other link options to your video since there is several of these Piscifun bags that are similar. I try to purchase through video links to help the community. Thanks again and Subbed to your channel.

Which one do you recommend Dr fish or this combo? Thank you
@@flamelee3403 Maxcatch is very nice. I would recommend the 5/6 if you were to get that. But the Dr. Fish is probably the more fun better all around

Have you caught a trout on this reel before? Also do you recommend this combo for trout fishing?
@@FlameEMT Absolutely! It’s perfect for trout!
@@yaknlife6894 thank you for the swift reply! Will pick one up ASAP!
@@FlameEMT it’s become one of my favorite ways to fish! I’ve had a blast using this combo!
@@yaknlife6894 update got the combo three days ago. The first day I tried it out not much success and I found it hard to cast mostly because I didn't know how to use a flyrod. But I took it back out today after practicing and I love it. It's so easy to make cast and I can easily get my line out there! Caught about 5-6 blue gils today 😂. This combo is amazing
