Well done, Brett! 👏 A fitting episode to celebrate the season. This was great!
And ''The Machino Music Christmas Special" will be the BIG gift. I know you'll be there to celebrate and laugh along with me, Brett Strong and Robyn B. Dannielle. Your friend, Brett Strong Mwah, Robyn B. Dannielle
Nothing is meaningless, but everything is meaningful all at the same time. Gotta love it! I'm hyped for this video! I hated, disliked, Christmas music during the time I worked at the mall, but now, I've grown to appreciate them. You're festive with the santa hat. Robyn could definitely spin it around! You're the first person I know that owns Christmas Albums. I didn't even know artists sold actual Christmas albums. I assumed they'd all be singles and get added to their exclusive albums. HAHA! I remember when "Baby It's Cold Outside" became an issue. Nothing is safe, Brett! Ayo! Alice Cooper! I only know him because of youuuuuuu. thank you. thank you. Beach Boys Christmas?!? No way! I'm typing these keys so aggressively! haha I didn't know Beach Boys had a freaking Christmas album. That's wild. Mommy, why are you kissing Santa Clause? That'd be a good short story. Taddaaaaa your wish was granted! Oh wow, even Gwen was in on this Christmas music. Where have I been, Brett? My area must be playing the wrong Christmas songs. Cher is a solid choice for the ending. I know not ranked, but still, it's Cher! I'm happy you released a Christmas video. Excited for your Christmas special! Happy Holidays to you toooo!
This episode was so fun to do. I love that Christmas albums exist. They are albums I can look forward to listening to each year. The Christina Aguilera album I actually finally picked up a copy this year. I never bought it for some reason when it was first released. If they are a favorite band or artist with a Christmas album I'll probably get it. The Christmas special is going to be stacked with music and comedy. Happy Holidays! Your friend, Brett Strong
Devo, so great. I will say I prefer Econochrist’s version of Uncontrollable Urge, but the original is still great!
The Econochrist version is definitely more furious. ''Uncontrollable Urge'' lends itself well to be being done faster and more aggressive. You could say it is the most purely Punk Devo song. Actually, the very obscure deep cut from Hardcore Vol.1 called "Uglatto" could be the most Punk Devo song. It just isn't as known as ''Uncontrollable Urge". Thanks for watching! Your friend, Brett Strong
The Damned ..Machine Gun Ettiqute.. then The Black album and Strawberries.
All classics! ''Machine Gun Etiquette'' was my first exposure to The Damned. It also blew my mind when I learned Captain Sensible was the same guy who did ''Wot'' haha. Thanks for watching! Your friend, Brett Strong
Pat Smear!! As soon as you mentioned The Germs, I anticipated a mention of Pat Smear. Awesome. 🤘
Crazy how long Pat Smear has been around. In the Foo Fighters Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame induction and in his book ''Storyteller'', Dave Grohl mentions how cool it was for him to get to play with the guy from The Germs. That one and done album was from 1979. Your friend, Brett Strong
Great HAUL!! Haha. These are all very awesome shirts! I especially like the KISS one, of course, the Bon Jovi, Fleetwood Mac & the white Pink Floyd.
I thought of you when I bought the KISS shirt. It's like my Dynasty shirt with the four faces, but the four faces from the first album. The white Pink Floyd shirt is a bit of a hodge podge design wise (I still don't quite know the significance of the 1970), but still a really cool shirt. Your friend, Brett Strong
The Crüe!! Yes! Great part two, my friend & absolutely love that Twister Sister shirt! 🤘
Part 2 was a bit trickier to figure out, but I knew for sure what my number was going to be. Even though these weren't necessarily ranked. Yes! That Twisted Sister is one of my fav shirts. Your friend, Brett Strong
Part 1! Here we go! I went to a an older bookstore and instantly thought of you when I saw their music section. I was like holy wow, Brett would love this! There were rows and rows of records and old-school record players even cassette players! It was insane. I learn about music thanks to you, but what I enjoy more is your storytelling. You can tell how much passion you have. I mean, yes, you have notes, but your knowledge of all these artists is fascinating. It slips right off your head and straight to the camera. It’s a skill fersure! Ahhhh baby kitty meow meow! Shoutout kitty Christina! The album that caught my attention was The Germs. I have never heard of them or their songs, but your excitement got me! You give me new songs to listen to. Thank you! Happy holidays to you, Brett!
The Germs album is legendary! You can stream it on UA-cam. It's fast, loud and energetic. So awesome too that Joan Jett was the producer. There are a few really cool record stores here. If you ever visit Canada and we get together we should definitely hit a record store. Your friend, Brett Strong
Good stuff, Brett! I knew Twisted Sister would be on here. 🤘
You know my love for Twisted Sister. One of the only overruns from my favorite Heavy Metal albums. Also, why I used ''Hair'' as opposed to ''Glam'' because Twisted Sister were ''Hid'' as in Hideous! Gotta love Dee Snider! Your friend, Brett Strong
Metallica is such a powerful band. They'd be so fun to see live! Great subject for the 75th episode. Cheers!
Can you believe the 100th episode is coming up! Not to be a Stanley Spoiler, but the idea at the moment might involve Metallica and a bunch of other fave bands in some way shape or form. Stay tuned! Your friend, Brett Strong
I'd love to see Alice Cooper live - what an incredible show that would be! Also, that Alice t-shirt you've got on is AWESOME!!!
If you've seen KISS you need to see Alice Cooper. He pioneered the big theatrical rock show. He's also great for casual fans and diehards as he always does a great mix of familiar songs and deep cuts. Some of my favorite concerts I've ever been to. Your friend, Brett Strong
Sweet episode, Brett! I really like this concept - cool to check out the evolution of the bands over the years. Love it!
There is probably a follow I can do to this. Either a part 2 (although I think I covered just about everyone I wanted to cover, minus Led Zeppelin due to be being lazy), or a similar type concept. Thanks for watching! Your friend, Brett Strong
I was never a huge listener of the Grateful Dead, but definitely appreciate their legacy and the dedication of the fanbase. Neat having an episode from the 'Machino Music Vault' come out - good stuff, Brett! :)
The Grateful Dead, as I explain at the top, were a slow burn for me, but once I got there - I very much enjoy their music. There was no real reason why this episode stayed in The Machino Music Vault (which does have a section labeled ''never to view, copy, or destroy''), though I'm happy and happy you're happy, that it was released. The Grateful Dead's music is something we all need more of these days. Your friend, Brett Strong
George Harrison was absolutely awesome! He was always my favourite member of The Beatles. I don't know why - he just had something about him. A great talent. Another wonderful episode, my friend!
What I loved about George Harrison was how cool and laid back he was. He never came off like he absolutely had anything to prove, but he still pushed hard for his songs to be heard. Why an album like ''All Things Must Pass'' is so essential is because he was sitting on some truly incredible songs. Could they have worked as Beatles songs? Yes, absolutely! But it's great he got to showcase his gifts on his own terms. All of The Beatles did, though George was something special. Your friend, Brett Strong
Christina is awesome. Such a wickedly powerful voice. I feel like she sometimes gets overlooked for how skilled she actually is. Also, I have to admit here, 'Burlesque' is a fun movie.
'Burlesque' is such a fun movie! Christina Aguilera and Cher together?!!! YES!!! Christina is such an inspiration to me. I named one of my cats after her. Love, love, LOVE Christina Aguilera. Your friend, Brett Strong
A t-shirt haul!! Boy oh boy, I was wondering when we'd get another one of these. It's fun to see you excited about your shirts. You can definitely feel it through your video. I mean, if you weren't excited, there'd be no gigantic spit shootin out. I'm all for it! Ayee the Judas Priest shirt is pretty sick. I like the mixed colors. Didn't think I'd miss PBS, but I miss PBS. It's cool you get to watch it or even still watch it. Not sure if it aired in Canada, but I love love loved, watching Huell Howser. When I think PBS, I think Arthur and Huell. Deng the Pink Floyd shirt is nice too. I'm digging the colors. Distressed style is strange, but they're so comfortable. As if they were previously worn. Kinda why I like thrifting. Wohoooo Brett! Vogue baby! Vogue! I'm assuming you gathered all your shirts and brought them down to your filming room. Thank you, Brett for sharing your clothing haul. Your passion does not go unnoticed.
There weren't too many so I brought the shirts down to the studio this time instead of standing at the closet. PBS varies by region. In Toronto we get WNED out of Buffalo. I'm not quite sure who our equivalent of Huell Howser would have been. I really only watch the music shows and sometimes American Masters depending on who the subject is. There have been a number of cool concerts, like the Fleetwood Mac one, on recently so I do check the listings a fair bit just hoping a concert will be airing. That one distressed Pink Floyd shirt is very comfortable, but it kind of may as well be a plain blue shirt. It didn't look that distressed when I bought it and it hasn't been worn enough to have to go through the washing machine. Oh well. It's still a really cool shirt. My shirts whether they are music, movie, or Hawaiian are like toys for my body. Don't you feel that way? Thanks for watching. I thought about you when I did this episode. Your friend, Brett Strong
I'll have to check out this album. Lady Gaga is amazing & I'm really excited to see what she does with the Harley Quinn role. Like you, Brett, I also really enjoyed the 2016 'Suicide Squad' (an Oscar winner, I have to add! haha). Thanks for the continuously entertaining and informative content, my friend!
There are a couple of really good songs/interpretations on the album. Lady Gaga can still do no wrong in my book. And yes! As flawed as the 2016 'Suicide Squad' might have been the performances were fun (Margot Robbie! And Pre-''The Slap'' Will Smith) and it didn't take itself too seriously compared the other DC movies released around the same time. Your friend, Brett Strong
I greatly enjoyed this review of my favorite band. The Trooper is my favorite song by them.
Thanks for watching! I'm going to get around to doing another Iron Maiden show at some point. My favorite song is the title track to 'Powerslave'. Your friend, Brett Strong
This is a perfect time to take a break from packing. Brett Strong and George Harrison! I like how you made yourself giggle there. So nice that you’re showcasing George here. He’s getting his stars even when he’s gone. Still amazes me how you’re able to rank his entire discography. I know it’s tough, but you find a way. This is why you’re, Brett Strong. Gotta say, I know The Beatles, but I’m not too familiar with George Harrison’s personal songs. Your videos allow my brain to relax and listen. I get to listen to something that interests me on this platform.
It was fun revisiting these albums for this ranking. There were a few I was unfamiliar with or hadn't heard much of at all. It's great George got to showcase his songs on his own terms. He had so many great songs with The Beatles and on his own. Next to Paul McCartney, George I think has the best solo discography. Thanks for watching! Your friend, Brett Strong
The one and only, Christina Aguilera! Finally this album ranking is out. Long time coming. It's insane that it's already been 25 years. Christina has still got her talent..pretty cool. HAHAHA why don't you just tell your kids the truth?!? I feel like I lost so much of my potential childhood. The Mickey Mouse Club was gone by the time I was conscious enough to watch it. It's a "You had to be there" moment. Her first album was the only album I owned from her. Thanks to my sister for picking up that album. I may have been, huh? Christina who? Omggg I forgot that she has actual music videos. I definitely gotta revisit those. I love the honesty. So many things to do in the morning, brushing teeth is priority with a bit of multitasking. When you gotta go, you gotta go! I was so pumped when she released Burlesque. Like what?? She acts now!? and she was good at it?! Awww Charlie! Maybe she'll get a cameo?? Embrace who you are, Love who you are. You, Brett have taught me that. I gotta thank Christina for empowering you. Thank you, Christina!
I realized doing this Album Ranking just how much Christina Aguilera means to me. When I was going over the ranking (my rehearsal) I focused mostly on the songs and what I was going to say about them and the albums overall. When I got to the end, the wrap up, I honestly had to keep myself from breaking down. Just talking about Christina's impact on me was starting to make me emotional. And yes - my Charli cat was outside the door. My Christina cat (named after Christina Aguilera) was there, too. Charli really wanted to come in, though. One day I'll get Charli and Christina on. Thanks for watching, Sarah! Your friend, Brett Strong
Prrrrrrrrrrrr
You know it! Thanks for watching. Your friend, Brett Strong
OoOOo First and Last. That's a brilliant idea. Artists really do change overtime, so it'd be cool to see what changes those are. Britney! Got the honor of being first in line. Jeez. Side by side, Britney has changed. Her songs slowly became her own. Bummer that's her last album, but after reading her autobiography, I'm okay with that. Still so cool that you received that book for Christmas. We got to be giddy about it together. Blondie is still out there! No way it'll be their last album, but ya never know. Why add if what's working is going fine? Maybe their tour will inspire them to create new songs though. Bowie! I had never seen what his first album actually looked like. What a difference from first to last album in terms of artwork. I'm glad you did this concept. It's different. I'm all for different.
Some of these for sure probably aren't definitively last. I'd love a new Blondie album if it were to happen. ''Pollinator'' was my favorite of their most recent albums, so I'd love to to hear what they could possibly do as a follow-up. David Bowie I had to include. I saw the first album in my local record store and picked it up specifically for this episode. I hadn't listened to the whole album in a long time, so it is cool to have an actual copy. And Britney! It would be so great if she put out a new album, but if she doesn't that's fine as well. Britney has been through a lot and deserves to retire as the LEGEND that she is. Your friend, Brett Strong
Neat concept - I’d enjoy full discography reviews from you.
There are a bunch of album reviews and rankings on this series. A whole playlist of Album Rankings even. I try to do things a little differently than the other music shows/channels by adding in a lot of humor. My background as a comedian would be going to waste if I didn't. Glad you had some fun. Thanks for watching! Your friend, Brett Strong
Bon Jovi is awesome! Fantastic live & so many classic hits. Well done!
This episode was filmed before the news that Jon Bon Jovi talked a woman down from jumping off a bridge. Jon is a good person. The whole ''Do What You Can'' song is basically about and inspired by all of the great work he did during the pandemic volunteering at food banks and soup kitchen. We should all aspire to be like Jon Bon Jovi. And yes, there are so many great songs to choose from. Your friend, Brett Strong
Oh man, I wonder whatever happened to Randy Quaid... Another stellar episode, my friend!
Randy Quaid is probably living in a bunker somewhere still trying to evade "The Star Whackers". Meanwhile, his brother Dennis is playing Ronald Reagan and getting rave reviews. Those Quaid family reunions must be a time. Your friend, Brett Strong
Aerosmith is awesome! I would have loved to see them live. Just a kick-ass rock & roll band. Great episode, Brett!
Seeing Joe Perry live with The Hollywood Vampires and playing ''Sweet Emotion'' is the closest I'm going to get to seeing Aerosmith live at this point and I'm GOOD WITH THAT! There are rumblings of something still happening with the band (they might just hold the record for the most number of Greatest Hits and compilation albums), but so far Aerosmith is officially retired. Tom Hamilton having a few projects going is the last I heard since doing this episode. Your friend, Brett Strong
DEVO is another one of my favorite bands. "Pink Pussycat" is a really messed up song from _Duty Now_ , which is my favorite DEVO album. Don't forget Bob Mothersbaugh (aka, Bob 1) also does occasional vocals. He sings "Secret Agent Man" and parts of "Smart Patrol."
Oh yes! Bob Mothersbaugh was the all-American, working class everyman voice and why he sung on ''Secret Agent Man''. My personal favorite Bob 1 vocal is on ''The Rope Song'' one of the early tracks from Hardcore Vol.2. Mark and Gerry got the edge for me as their voices were usually the most prominent. And Gerry could do a pretty good Elvis Presley. Thanks for watching! Your friend, Brett Strong
@@machinomusicfilms I'll have to check out "The Rope Song"--I've never heard of it before. I have Hardcore Volume 1, but not 2. Back in the late 1990s, I mailed all my DEVO CDs to their Mutato Music studio, and all four original members (Mark, Gerry, Bob 1, and Bob 2) signed them. I emailed them in advance, and the person replied that Mark and Bob 1 could sign them right away, but if I would be willing to wait a month, then Gerry and Bob 2 would be back and could sign them, too. I opted for that option!
@@mournblade1066 Hardcore Vol.2 was a bit harder to find. My brother got it through the fan club. He also got a copy of New Traditionalists that was signed by Mark, which was cool because he didn't ask for it - It just showed up! That's awesome you got the whole band's signatures. Fun Fact: Machino Music is a partial reference to Mutato Muzika.
@@machinomusicfilms Oh cool, I didn't know that! Anyway, New Traditionalists was the first album (well, cassette) I ever bought with my own money, way back in 1982 or thereabouts--I was 12 years old at the time.
@@mournblade1066 Devo Greatest Hits was the first Devo album I remember getting and then started getting some of the actual albums. A lot of them back then were 2 in 1. I think for years I had New Traditionalists in a dual with Duty Now For The Future until getting each (with bonus tracks) single.
Was (Not Was)!!! One of my all-time favorite bands. Yeah, "Shake Your Head" is from _Born to Laugh at Tornadoes_ , which was their second album. Their third album, _What Up, Dog?_ , is the one that features "Walk the Dinosaur," and is one of the greatest albums of the 1980s. They are a seriously underrated band.
Don Was is also a superstar producer! I remember the first time I heard ''Shake Your Head'' and couldn't believe what I was hearing. Also, cool the female voice on that song is Kim Basinger. ''Walk The Dinosaur'' was everywhere for a time. Yes, absolutely a underrated band. Your friend, Brett Strong
@@machinomusicfilms Ah, but do you know who the original female voice was supposed to be: Madonna. And this was BEFORE she released an album. Can't remember the reason why, but her vocals were scrapped.
@@mournblade1066 That would have been cool! I think that was mentioned in the Ozzy Prince Of Darkness liner notes, but I totally forgot about it. Madonna early on was a punk singer in a band called The Breakfast Club. Some of those raw recordings have been released. Kim Basinger was, I believe, hanging around Prince at the time and did some music.
"Creeping Death" is simply the greatest heavy metal song ever recorded. And I'm saying that as someone who isn't a huge Metallica fan. I really like their first three albums, but that's about it. I'm more of an Iron Maiden fan (first seven albums; the following five were okay; after that, they bore me).
''Creeping Death'' was so close to making my list, but I didn't want to have too much overrun with my guest. He shared his list with me and I didn't with him, so it give me some time to adjust if need be. Thankfully, the only major overrun we had was ''Orion''. I'm totally with you on the first three Metallica albums, though I do really like some of the later albums, but they were a slower burn for me. I'm also with you on the first seven Iron Maiden albums. I did an Iron Maiden show sometime last year, 2023, and there should be another one of these days (cue Brother Theodore shouting "ONE OF THESE DAYS!"). Thanks for watching. Your friend, Brett Strong
Ha! That was some mighty fine diving there.
Well the pool was right there! Thanks for watching. Your friend, Brett Strong
My summer playlist would include a TON of instrumental surf and dub reggae.
I have a bunch of that as well. The Ventures were always my go to band for surf music. Your friend, Brett Strong
I love the colorful shirts you wear. They’re so cute! I appreciate the honesty of where you get your music from. You mentioned it before, but it’s cool you’re down to say it again. Props to you, Brett! Music comes from everywhere! I’ve heard of Lost Media, but that’s where it ended. It’s perfect that you’re here sharing more about it. You’re my own version of a wiki page. I’m down with that! Omgggg I remember that song! “I know what boys like..I know what guys want…” sheeesh!! Hidden memory unlocked. Most time, I feel like the music videos that don’t get released, should’ve gotten released. Like a hidden gem that is so close to getting discovered. I wonder what else has become lost. Pretty sure Taylor Swift has lost media. Thank you for letting me go into a black hole with Lost Media. It gives me something to do when I’m not reading a book.
You could so totally get lost on the Lost Media Wiki. So many pages of lost music, lost TV shows and lost movies. Some are partially found and that's exciting. Although, the most exciting is when something is found. There is always that hidden gem, good or bad it is super exciting. It is entirely possible Taylor Swift has some lost media, especially with her going back and re-recording her catalogue. There are very likely demos that are sitting in the Swift Vault waiting to be released one day. She's a very smart businesswoman so if there is stuff she'll release it when the time is right. Your friend, Brett Strong
Now I LOVE the Ozzy era of Black Sabbath, but the first two with Ronnie James Dio on vocals are on a completely different level. "Sign of the Southern Cross," in particular, is sublime. Still, I would LOVE to hear those Heaven & Hell demos with Ozzy!
Yes! Absolutely. Even if the vocals aren't great as Tony and Geezer say it would still be something to hear for diehard fans. Actually, I believe the two songs on this demo are Ozzy singing ''Heaven And Hell'' and ''Children of The Sea''. Now Dave Walker is a totally different story. That audio has been released and it's cool, but not quite that Black Sabbath sound. It would still be something to see the lost video footage, though. That has to be somewhere. Thanks for watching and welcome back! Your friend, Brett Strong
“If you’re taking it too seriously, you’re doing it wrong.” You got that right! Hahaha! I wasn’t fuckin born! I hate when it gets to “that’s all for now.” Noooooo! I love your revues! I only know about Charo, Michael J Fox, and Robyn B. Dannielle from this show. Everyone else was sort of a blur. Probably because I wasn’t born when this show came out or ended, but this is reason to find where I can watch it…stream it. 9 seasons. It’s gotta be good!
Girl! You would love The Love Boat. It was a series of interconnecting stories aboard a cruise ship. A romantic comedy on the high seas. There is a channel here in Canada that plays The Love Boat along with other classic TV shows each weekday afternoon. Actually, I believe there is a Pluto TV channel devoted to The Love Boat. So many celebrities well known and before they were famous were guest stars. Your girl Robyn got in her time machine so she could appear in one of those opening port holes! And what about Patrick Swayze in Skatetown USA? Shoop Shoop! Thanks for watching! Mwah, Robyn B. Dannielle
I like your little Easter egg in your description. Hoot. Hoot. Top 10 songs are easier, but definitely not simple. You always put yourself through this and I always love the end result. Good thing it’s not ranked songs. The torture!I get to learn more about each individual song. I’m a huge fan of storytelling songs. It’s like a book with something to tap your foot with. Awww! It’s so special when songs help you get through life. Let alone the pandemic! We didn’t even know each other then. It’s really cool that events can create something. Cool happy and cool sad. Something is born when you’re affected just like their song, Fear. Spaceball??? I’ve never even seen the first one. I most definitely wasn’t a thought yet when that movie came out. Oh man! There’s been so many times when I thought a singer or band was singing an original, but turns out, it’s a cover which leads me to a deep dive on the original artist. It’s a fun rabbit hole to be in. Do you listen to songs with headphones? Do you let the songs play from the cd player? What’s your favorite way to listen to songs???
Good questions! Sometimes I listen on CD player. I bought a newish model Discman which I use a lot. Sometimes I listen on a Bose stereo with the BIG SOUND. I like using headphones when I really want to immerse myself in the music. I use headphones with the Discman and on my laptop. The hard part becomes choosing what exactly I want to listen to. If I'm listening for the purpose of doing a show, it's easy. When I listen to music while I'm working, usually on a screenplay, I have listened to everything from Heavy Metal, Punk, New Wave and Pop. In fact just about everything related to Robyn B. Dannielle was written listening to Punk and New Wave as that is her vibe. Although, when working I almost always choose Jazz. It's relaxing and for some reason gets my creativity really flowing. There you go. Thanks for watching, Sarah! It's so great having you here. Your friend, Brett Strong
@@machinomusicfilms Omgggg I listen to jazz when I write my stories! Although lately, it’s been instrumental covers. Jazz though, has my heart. Something about it IS relaxing! I’m happy we have that in common.
Thanks for the original favorites list. I like hearing other fan thoughts/opinions. Waves is one of, if not my favorite, favorite songs off Forever.
I went into the Forever album knowing I'd like it, but was not expecting to LOVE it as much as I did. ''Waves'' especially just got me. Such great writing. And Jon despite his recent vocal troubles sounds great. Thanks for watching! Your friend, Brett Strong
The Bangles! Jeez I remember when I first heard their songs. I was like, who is this?? I’m happy you made a Bangles video. This is my chance to learn more about them! Wild their last album was in 2011. That’s a long while from the 80’s. HAHAHAHA! Looooove the rebooting! What were you giggling to yourself about? That’s what I wanna know. This is a rating video, but I enjoy the history lessons sprinkled in between. Bummer that great groups end up separating. More power to them, but still a bummer. You got a Christmas surprise! It’s like finding money in your pocket, but better! Such a fun video, Brett! Until the next!
I believe I was laughing about Leonard Nimoy and then I lost my place. The Bangles are just such a great band. Short-lived and their discography is kind of sporadic, but did they ever leave their mark on history. Truly one of the best, most underrated bands of all time. Your friend, Brett Strong
Hero Takes A Fall from All Over The Place is one of the most underrated songs of the 80’s.
Yes! Such a great song. And a really cool video with the mannequins. Thanks for watching! Your friend, Brett Strong
You even have an Aerosmith shirt! You gotta do a tshirt update. I’m sure there’s more to your collection. You’re right! Aerosmith songs do sound like Aerosmith songs. I may not know the title of the song, but I know who’s singing it. They’re their own brand. Pretty cool they made their stamp that way. I learned about Aerosmith through the Armageddon movie with Liv Tyler. That song jaded me. “Don’t wanna close myself eyes…don’t wanna fall asleep…” Lucky!! You saw Johnny Depp in real life. That must’ve been epic.
I wouldn't say I ever really get star struck, but seeing Johnny Depp playing guitar alongside Joe Perry and Alice Cooper on vocals was insane! Johnny Depp definitely had me star struck, especially seeing him not acting and being a straight up rockstar. I could do another T-shirt episode at some point. I have gotten a few new ones since the last episode. And yes, ''Don't Want To Miss A Thing'' was a big song, never one of my favorites, but I do still appreciate it for it is. I guess. Thanks for watching! Your friend, Brett Strong
It’s here! No one panic! Too bad your blemish wasn’t on your nose. Missed opportunity to be the red nosed reindeer. Her album ISSS bright green, but I didn’t realize her entire cd album case is green - front AND back. Plain is cool! Gotta love creativity. 360 is incredibly catchy! I listened to her album in the car and it reminded me of those clubbing days. Nowadays, I’ll shimmy shimmy in private. 🤣 I gotta listen to the Crash album soon in its entirety. Pretty sure I missed some bangers. When you mentioned “snot green”, it reminded me of Nickelodeon’s slime! Welcome back, Brett! Glad you enjoyed your vacation. So happy you shared Charli and Christina. They deserve their spotlight.
You'll really enjoy Crash. It's much more straight ahead 90's pop. BRAT has a similar feel though more ''clubbing''. Charli XCX has a pretty solid discography so far. I sent you an email with another cool playlist. Thanks for watching! Your friend, Brett Strong
Yes finally! Robyn is back babies! You’re good at drawing me in and listening. I’m trying to type as I’m listening, but it’s not workin. My eyes are glued to Robyn and her humor! Paul loves Wrestlemania. Gotta make sure he watches this episode, specifically. He can go on and on about it. So glad you’re back, Robyn!
If Paul has ever gone back and watched these early Wrestlemanias, Wrestlemania 2 especially- girl, he'll know what's up. There are also a few deep cut jokes that he should pick on. Don't want to point them out here as I wouldn't want to be a Suzie Spoiler. Thank you for watching, girl! Mwah, Robyn B. Dannielle
I absolutely Fu**ing love Lady Gaga, I love her music, a star is born house of gucci, and im so fu**ing pumped for joker 2. Seeing her as Harley Quinn, and she was also great is Ahs Hotel.
Lady Gaga is truly amazing! Most definitely one of my biggest heroes. I, too, am excited for Joker 2. The movie overall doesn't look particularly good, but Lady Gaga will be great. Thanks for watching. Your friend, Brett Strong
I only loved Madonna in who's that girl and evita, sorry i just don't like Madonna never have probably never will.
For as many fans as Madonna has, she has just as many haters. That's cool. You are free to express your opinion and I'm glad you did. As a Madonna fan, personally, I do in part agree with you. There have been times when I absolutely couldn't stand Madonna. 1985 to 1992 are my personal favorite Madonna years and honestly everything else I can I kind of take or leave. Thanks for watching and commenting! Your friend, Brett Strong
Omggggg you’re outside! I love the outside videos. It’s so sunny and noisy?? But I like the noisy. It’s real. Hahahaha! Go Brent Carpenter! This is amazing! It kinda feels like you’re facetiming with me and showing what songs I should listen to. Pain in the ass to setup, but I’m glad you did. I really like this setup! Side question: Are you sitting in a chair, inside the pool? Cuz that’s brilliant! Never-mind. It is a chair. Brilliant! Pool dive was necessary. 🫡 Great video, Brett!
There are a few I show that I know you'd love, Sarah. I send you an email with the picks. Sabrina Carpenter ''Espresso'' is such a great song! I wouldn't say I'm a huge fan of her overall - more of a Dua Lipa, Charli XCX kind of girl as for current pop stars- you know me!, but Sabrina does have some fun songs. There could be more episodes outside before the end of the season. Your friend, Brett Strong
That pool jump was glorious! Hahaha well done!
That was my best attempt at going for Gold after watching all the Olympic diving. Thanks for watching! Your friend, Brett Strong
Singin in the rain! I remember I needed to rent that from Netflix - mail version. Blockbuster didn’t have a copy of that in their store. Since then, I’ve loved that movie! It definitely hit me with the feels. Your brain is all wired up. Too many ideas in there probs why it’s tough for you to sleep? I knew Dua Lipa was gonna be in this list! You love yourself some Dua. Oh gosh Lady Gaga! I freaking miss Gaga’s music, but we’ll always have her old albums. Not sure if I heard her Telephone first or Poker Face first. I just remember there was a subway station in the music video. Could be wrong. Hehe. Oh yes Cyndi! It’s never a farewell tour. I thought she was done when she got sick, but she kept on goin! Woahhh I didn’t know Christina hit that note, but I do remember that hairstyle during that time. It was epic for no reason, but also for so many reasons! Gotta do what you gotta do for Queens. Worth it. This must have been tough to narrow down, but you always conquer!
Lady Gaga was phenomenal on the Olympics Opening Ceremony. I'm also excited to see her as Harley Quinn in the upcoming Joker sequel. The movie overall doesn't look very good, but Lady Gaga will deliver - she always does! This was pretty difficult to narrow down. There were so many I wanted to put on and I didn't feel like doing a multi-part or even two part episode. These 10 were the absolute musts! And yes - Christina Aguilera Album Ranking is coming very soon. Could even be one of the first episodes coming after the little break after today's episode. Stay tuned! Your friend, Brett Strong
We’re All DEVO⚛️🥔
And now it can be told...the truth about D-Evolution. Thanks for watching! Your friend, Brett Strong
Holy crap..I forgot about Bon Jovi. New album? I don’t know why I don’t know when new albums get released, from any artist. Back then, I had TRL and Tower Record stores. Now, there’s neither of those things. Wild how time changed. I like your Hawaiian shirt by the way! It’s a really happy bright orange. When I was little, I’d always confuse Bob Jovi for Aerosmith. Little me saw male lead singer and thought, oh cool! Same same, but dude not the same. Woah I didn’t know Jeff Daniel’s wrote songs. A lot of “I didn’t know” when I watch your videos. I like it. I’ll give a listen to their new album. Perfect for the weekend! Thank you for being uncomfortable for the sake of showing us the back of your shirt. Album ranking?! OOoo good luck but also, good luck and I can’t wait to see it.
You'd probably really like the new Bon Jovi album. His more recent direction since about early 2000s has been in more of a pop/country style. He always had a pop sensibility and of course, the songwriting. Ed Sheeran actually helped write one of the songs on the new album. My local record store, a store called Sunrise Records, is usually how I learn of new album releases. Also, some of the UA-cam channels I follow keep me updated. However, if I'm a fan of an artist I will usually just hear through the grapevine about a new release. Thanks for watching! Your friend, Brett Strong
Disco music is super fun! The whole "rock fans can only like rock" is so silly. Don't think you see as much of that mindset nowadays. To me, enjoy the music you enjoy and what makes you happy. 🕺
Said this in a previous comment - Disco basically just morphed into House music and modern Pop/Dance music. There is no backlash now! That's actually a good thing about music being a bit fragmented these days. Everybody can kind of either enjoy a bit of everything or just stay in their lane if they choose. Of course, here at Machino Music we tend to go everywhere and invite anyone who wants to come along for the ride. Your friend, Brett Strong
