HRT vs bioidentical hormones
HRT is brilliant for easing the symptoms of menopause, which can be quite debilitating.
I talk to Dr Shahzadi Harper who explains the difference between regular HRT and both body and bioidentical hormones. It can be quite confusing and it's vital to get guidance from a medical doctor when taking HRT.

    I agree about the hypnotherapy. I think that the mythology around post traumatic growth is largely an exaggeration. True PTSD sets the brain back so far that it can take years for the brain to heal and return to the state of normative health it was at prior to the traumatic event. If there is more trauma after that, before the brain has time to fully return to the healthy state it was in prior to the trauma, it's going to be an even longer recovery process. You know you have PTSD because you suddenly and inexplicably start coming out of the bathroom in your own house, that you've walked out of thousands of times before, and you begin looking around as if it's no longer safe (when you know...very clearly...that there is no reason to NOT feel safe). You know you have PTSD because you begin to NOT leave your home until there is nothing left in your refrigerator, and you've even gone through your emergency/disaster food, and yu STILL don't want to leave your house. You know you have PTSD because you can't sleep at night, and can only sleep all day. Or, conversely, you can only sleep with all the lights on in your home, or maybe at it's worse, you can only sleep in the front seat of your car, fully dress, with your running shoes on and your keys in the ignition. THAT is how you know, with certainty, that you have PTSD because you are *fully cognizant* that all of these things are HIGHLY abnormal behavior, and yet despite fully understanding that, you still can't make your brain STOP having these bizarre thoughts and needing these strange to unpleasant sleeping accommodations. There is nothing more utterly frustrating than to KNOW with certainty that your brain should not be having the thoughts it is having, and yet STILL being completely powerless to STOP those thoughts, or to get your brain un-stuck from the trauma loop that it's stuck in.

    I am old. I grew up in NYC with all adults who were young during WW2. These people worked hard were grounded in common sense and devotion to their family. They drank and smoked a lot. It usually was not if you smoked...it was what you smoked? Cigaretts, pipe or cigars. No beer was ever served . Wine, cocktails and highballs(Booze,ice and water or club soda, for younger readers:)) My job in my parents house in Queens during a party was to empty ashtrays and make sure we had enough ice. They all lived into their high 70's, 80's and 90's. They were very happy in their lives and deaths. I miss them so much. They were adults. Shit ! I was lucky to know them.

    Ice cream is more nutritional than fruits.

  • @andyhemmings7363
    @andyhemmings7363 13 днів тому

    I disagree with Glynis. I view fruit and vegetables as mostly being very bad for everyone. They contain way less nutrition compared to animal foods, the bio availability of nutrients are lower then animal products, they are full of toxins and poisons that harm our bodies and degrade himan health over time and animal products do not. They lack a lot of the essential nutrients the human body needs to thrive (B12, heame iron and others). They cause many gastric diseases in many people and auto immune diseases. They bloat your stomach, they make you fart more, they do not satiate your hunger adequately or for long enough and promote insulin spikes and diabetes if they are high carb foodstuffs

  • @andyhemmings7363
    @andyhemmings7363 13 днів тому

    Veganism is an awful diet to follow. Plants are responsible in some people for auto immune diseases, digestive diseases and it does not give you all the nutrients and vitamins you need yo survive, like b12 and heame iron etc. whereas, an animal based diet provides everything you need without the need to supplement. Humans thrived on eating animal foods ever since we set foot on this earth while no humans upto and past the agrarian revolution ever ate a vegan diet because its not healthy for you.

    Anti-nutrients, oxalates, fructose and other chemical inhibitors found in vegetables and fruits have no purpose in our diet. If we think of the real estate of the stomach in a one meal sitting, wouldn't you prefer to have the most nutrient dense food fill up your stomach instead of giving up space for the indigestible fiber (and by definition playing no positive role in your health) and liver-harming fructose that come with plant food? For those scientists to know so much about nutrition and to advocate for plant food in our diet is mind blowing. I'm not a PHD nutrition scientist and yet I know enough to not sacrifice stomach real estate space with inferior foods and not to fill it with undigestible matter. I like her ability to explain subjects in a very understandable way, but the fact that she still advocates for plant matter in your diet is beyond comprehensible.
