United Kingdom
Приєднався 16 кві 2021
Glynis is a well-known actress of stage and screen, perhaps most recognisable for playing Makepeace in the hit 80’s cop show Dempsey & Makepeace. Since then she has regularly appeared in many shows on TV, as well as theatre productions, including London's West End.
However, she has another passion and that is health. After the success of her yoga DVD with yoga expert Howard Napper, she founded agelessbyglynisbarber.com in 2012 to spread the word of healthy ageing. This was followed in 2015 with the publication of a best-selling diet book, The In-Sync Diet, written with nutritionist Fleur Borrelli. She is delighted to now bring all her tips, secrets and knowledge on all things health and beauty related to UA-cam to complement her website.
She suggests that you subscribe to the site as well as this channel as there will be exclusives on each.

HRT vs bioidentical hormones
HRT is brilliant for easing the symptoms of menopause, which can be quite debilitating.
I talk to Dr Shahzadi Harper who explains the difference between regular HRT and both body and bioidentical hormones. It can be quite confusing and it's vital to get guidance from a medical doctor when taking HRT.

Vegetables are a scam.
HRT has been a game changer for me. Within 4 months of taking it, my anxiety went and my reasoning improved. 5 years now and I won't be stopping anytime soon. Very interesting, thanks, Glynis
Amazing!
I agree about the hypnotherapy. I think that the mythology around post traumatic growth is largely an exaggeration. True PTSD sets the brain back so far that it can take years for the brain to heal and return to the state of normative health it was at prior to the traumatic event. If there is more trauma after that, before the brain has time to fully return to the healthy state it was in prior to the trauma, it's going to be an even longer recovery process. You know you have PTSD because you suddenly and inexplicably start coming out of the bathroom in your own house, that you've walked out of thousands of times before, and you begin looking around as if it's no longer safe (when you know...very clearly...that there is no reason to NOT feel safe). You know you have PTSD because you begin to NOT leave your home until there is nothing left in your refrigerator, and you've even gone through your emergency/disaster food, and yu STILL don't want to leave your house. You know you have PTSD because you can't sleep at night, and can only sleep all day. Or, conversely, you can only sleep with all the lights on in your home, or maybe at it's worse, you can only sleep in the front seat of your car, fully dress, with your running shoes on and your keys in the ignition. THAT is how you know, with certainty, that you have PTSD because you are *fully cognizant* that all of these things are HIGHLY abnormal behavior, and yet despite fully understanding that, you still can't make your brain STOP having these bizarre thoughts and needing these strange to unpleasant sleeping accommodations. There is nothing more utterly frustrating than to KNOW with certainty that your brain should not be having the thoughts it is having, and yet STILL being completely powerless to STOP those thoughts, or to get your brain un-stuck from the trauma loop that it's stuck in.
Echoing sound track!
Thank you for this video. I found this out the hard way. Hopefully, this information will get out there to people that need to know.
Hello what shade are you using here? Thank you
I am old. I grew up in NYC with all adults who were young during WW2. These people worked hard were grounded in common sense and devotion to their family. They drank and smoked a lot. It usually was not if you smoked...it was what you smoked? Cigaretts, pipe or cigars. No beer was ever served . Wine, cocktails and highballs(Booze, ice and water or club soda, for younger readers:)) My job in my parents house in Queens during a party was to empty ashtrays and make sure we had enough ice. They all lived into their high 70's, 80's and 90's. They were very happy in their lives and deaths. I miss them so much. They were adults. Shit ! I was lucky to know them.
Ice cream is more nutritional than fruits.
I disagree with Glynis. I view fruit and vegetables as mostly being very bad for everyone. They contain way less nutrition compared to animal foods, the bio availability of nutrients are lower then animal products, they are full of toxins and poisons that harm our bodies and degrade himan health over time and animal products do not. They lack a lot of the essential nutrients the human body needs to thrive (B12, heame iron and others). They cause many gastric diseases in many people and auto immune diseases. They bloat your stomach, they make you fart more, they do not satiate your hunger adequately or for long enough and promote insulin spikes and diabetes if they are high carb foodstuffs
Veganism is an awful diet to follow. Plants are responsible in some people for auto immune diseases, digestive diseases and it does not give you all the nutrients and vitamins you need yo survive, like b12 and heame iron etc. whereas, an animal based diet provides everything you need without the need to supplement. Humans thrived on eating animal foods ever since we set foot on this earth while no humans upto and past the agrarian revolution ever ate a vegan diet because its not healthy for you.
Have bought Prickly Pear and a few other items from the skin range and it's great. My daughter has also joined the Prickly Pear club now!! Thank you Glynis, great advice, that works.xx💐💐xx
I can not listen to any more. Zoe gets repeatedly interupted and cut off by the host
Would this help a tortuous colon?
No disrespect ladies, but you have a few quid but when you have nothing it becomes gift rapped poison. Read what Professor Nut says about it,and what the truth is,the government want you for tax off the stuff. Sixty six years old ,drank since i was sixteen, beer mostly, stopped two years ago and now have never felt so good. Pioson full stop.
Why was this guest expert interrupted so often as to change the direction of the interview?
Great interview. Thanks to both of you.
I thinkni managed 5 minutes before I dropped off to sleep 😴 🙊. Such a wonderful calming voice Michael xxx
Thumbnail: “Cardiovacular”?
Thanks for sharing Glynis. I had a few colonics years ago and they really did help me feel and look better. I'd advise anyone to have at least one. A fantastic clear-out! I don't recommend having them too often though as they disturb the natural bacteria in the bowel.
Just watched a rerun of Dempsey and Makepeace on ITV4. Those tight white trousers....😱
But what causes arterial plaque?
Inflammation
What ever I put on my face /neck Glynis I put on my hands and the results this past year has been amazing. Gonna look into getting these recommendations from you. Love & light :)
Great interview! But Dr. Zoe didnt talk about non-sweet fruits.. that do not have alot of sugar like olives, avocado, Squashes etc?
Many happy returns, Glynis. :)
So good for you two , you bounced off each other - thank you
Thank you both soo much for guided meditation. Was very helpful with my anxiety. Will definitely would like to listen to more of your videos. Going to get my husband to listen too xx
vegetable's are trying to kill you
I love you from eastenders ❤ Glenda
Lovely video. Your skin looks radiant. I shall definitely check them out. Especially the Prickly Pear serum.
Thanks for the great review...great prices! Bakuchiol Serum is on my list as well, like you suggested. 👍❤️ X
Hello l really enjoy your vlog skincare routine , thank you for this video ❤😊 xx
Wow lovey video Glynis really interesting
I have been doing MCT oil with a scoop of Kerry gold butter and some single cream with my Nespresso coffee for 4 yrs now. Kept my weight down, my blood work with all good and I am 65 coming up soon. When you know what works keep to it. :)
Sounds delicious!
@@AgelessbyGlynisBarber if you put the MCT oil two teaspoons in cup first then 50mls of cream and just a scoop of butter “grass fed butter Kerrygold the best”. Then start to stir as the nespresso hits it all then drink. It’s so nice. I have this every morning to break my fast. It’s filling also. Love & light :)
This has been so helpful to me. I have suffered with anxiety for a number of years and have noticed a considerable improvement since trying this breathing technique. Thank you so much!
No matter what vegetables are palatable for an individual or none at all, always include real food, meat, fish and dairy and forget about the ultra processed foods. Your body will serve you well as intended. ❤️
It's the toxicity of vegetables that is beneficial occasionally in small amounts, to wake immune system up, to fight viruses and other pathogens. Large amounts of toxins(vegetables)can kill you or make sick
I want this in my life 🎉
The female jeremy vine right there- I call it the “Most stupid person in the country Act” -Influencing the audience to revel in their own stupidity. (Hopefully you will realise I am speaking of the LADY ON THE RIGHT!)
Great questions Glynis 👍
Anti-nutrients, oxalates, fructose and other chemical inhibitors found in vegetables and fruits have no purpose in our diet. If we think of the real estate of the stomach in a one meal sitting, wouldn't you prefer to have the most nutrient dense food fill up your stomach instead of giving up space for the indigestible fiber (and by definition playing no positive role in your health) and liver-harming fructose that come with plant food? For those scientists to know so much about nutrition and to advocate for plant food in our diet is mind blowing. I'm not a PHD nutrition scientist and yet I know enough to not sacrifice stomach real estate space with inferior foods and not to fill it with undigestible matter. I like her ability to explain subjects in a very understandable way, but the fact that she still advocates for plant matter in your diet is beyond comprehensible.
Nice short Glynis, thanks. My wife and I will try this. I see the benefits for guys are well documented too
You have a lovely voice which is relaxing thank you. 🎉🎉🎉
This is what I need stressed all the time thank you 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Good videos thanks 🎉🎉
