Maybe one day ill put one of my B series engines in a Prius and drag race it for a weekend , be a cool future video
Have you started seeing head gaskets go out on that engine with higher miles like the Carcarnut has talked about?
Amazing. Subbed. Where's your shop?
@@kemosabe5120 Thanks, Work for Toyota dealership in the Bay Area thanks again

That’s a lot of work. What went wrong with old engine? No used engine?
@@mason7300 used engine was 1200 I got a new short block for 2k I bought the car from customer with head gasket leak, I wanted to build a 0 mileage brand new Prius vs used ,
Head? No balance shaft?
There’s a full time Laps I did I just uploaded it start to finish, check it out,
Ow20 it up all you guys. The normally aspirated v6 will fail, all tirbo engines will definately fail. Alot of recent issues 6 years to now with ALL MAJOR CAR BRANDS. ITS THE 0W20 GUYS.

...always thought they had a little 3 banger in them. Huh, the more you know I guess.
What up with the camry. Also didn't realize those 4runners had engine issues. I haven't been in the business for 28yrs now but still interesting to see what you guys get into these days. Matt
You make the dealer life look not bad compare to what everyone says, makes me want to go try it out myself.
Right on for the comment ,I ain’t never going to say what others say, will turn every negative to a positive will take every L and turn it into a W, Some take it for granted some think it’s a joke, For me it’s a blessing to work at Toyota , and for those that watch and want to pick it up, we going beast mode , Humble 💯

Good shit dude, 99% wont go throught the hassle and all you do and will just slap it all together
Which gen uses that one and what's wrong with it? Thx

@@WaltNasty thx sir
the Haynes repair manual says my pistol to wall clearance should be between 0.0053”-0.006” Alberta cylinder head and engine builders who resurfaced the block deck told me no that’s a misprint , they say my piston to wall clearance is 0.0016”-0.0024” .
Lol just had mine resealed this week. 85,000 miles I’m amazed as to what’s involved
@@jonslyh2742 It’s an insane amount of work, But I love doing this kind of work, What Year 4Runner ? Take care
2015, I also have a 2008 that had the timing cover resealed as well but at 200,000 miles. Thankfully the 15 is under extended warranty.
Amazing organization and skills
At this moment it’s all messed up looking, it’s just the tear down, now it’s time to clean it and get organize for build, watch that video later thank you though for the comment
Would be an awsome video if you did the rebuild with a good quality camera turned 90° to the 16x9 format . I myself am rebuilding the 5VZ-fe out of my 2001 4runner . Love how you removed the entire wiring harness and that you will be detailing the transmission. Looking forward in watching the next videos .
I hear you, I will figure out how to apply that knowledge thanks a lot, I will get better with camera, I’m lucky to even get the camera on record at the moment , I stay flooded with work, I’ll keep the videos coming, this all I do if you need any specs let me know, Good job and thank you

@@WaltNasty Man I just bought my 3rd 4runner. A 24 orp ….now I’m all worried
That’s super cool I just bought my 3rd also 22-23-24 smh don’t let that leak worry you, it’s just a leak it’s not mechanical like the tundra were it can stall , that be real bad if the person behind you ain’t paying attention!!!!!
Why can't we get more mechanics like you. Thank you for your conviction to be the best. Thank you.
Thank you very much for that comment, Not trying to be the best, Just want to do the best I can, thanks again take care ,
What years are the Prius with no head gasket problem?
2016+
Are you a Toyota dealership? lmk.
@@jeremyanthony9300 I work for a Toyota dealership in the Bay Area
Is your 4runner on highway speed around 70mph steering wheel shake what causes this problem and how to fixed.
Try balancing your tires unless there cupping nothing you can do
wonder how much you got paid vs how much customer got charged.....
It was warranty customer didn’t pay anything,
Great video. What op code did you use for the oil leak cause that timing cover one is about 15 or 16 is in labor hours and you completely re sealed that 2gr great craftsmanship 🔥💯

@@kakashikakashi- hopefully the person that dose the repair reseals the complete motor and not just the front cover. It’s crazy the cost
Damn! Looks like it came straight from the factory. Shiny clean! 👏 👏 👏
It did though like last year
What do you clean it with?
I do it in parts wash solvent tank pretty much all by hand takes me 2-4 hrs to clean,
@@WaltNasty what’s the solution that is used?
@@1grfe sorry brother, not understanding your question, Solution is bring it to me, I’ll fix it rite the first time, I did just finish this job today timelaps will be up tonight, hopefullly it comes out better
“Solution” as to the “solvent” being used to clean the parts and heavy block (chemical solution). I ask cause they look very clean and non slick “non shiny” or greasy.
No offense bro, but Id sell it after this. It will never be like brand new from Japan again.
these motors are built here stateside as well and werent built well obviously. Having a single caring technician rebuild your engine is much better than a low skilled assembly line person slapping it together. It is a japanese vehicle, but there are numerous toyota manufacturing plants here in US.
@@jameslowry3208 the 1GR is not built anywhere but in Japan. The 4Runner is not built anywhere but Japan. That is why they are both #1. I own a 23 TRD Off-road and I wouldn’t own a Toyota not fully built in Japan. The plants and workers in Japan are anything but low skilled. Check out Tahara plant for yourself. It is world class. Toyota/Lexus builds most if not all their flagships in Japan for a reason.
@@jameslowry3208wrong. 4runners are all made in Japan.

Is this a new pattern?? Why warranty didn't take care of it
This is under warranty, Customer not going to pay anything, will look perfect when I return it
@@WaltNasty I don't doubt of your job, it seems like you do it great. My concern is why a new 4runner leaks, I believe I told u in a different video that I have a 2023 4runner with 12k miles and this videos get me nervous
@@WaltNastyonce again, exceptional job! How much is warranty time for the 4Runner? What would it labor time be if it was customer pay?
@@DaddyGlezDon’t stress about it, It’s not a mechanical problem, it’s just the sealant never sealed it, Not like the tundra mechanical problem getting a new engine , if it was to leak you will see it around 20k and up, hopefully ot dont
@@WaltNasty yeah I understand it's not a mechanical issue, I have some car mechanical knowledge but again this is a second 4runner low mileage with same issue, even if the warranty covers it still a shame dealing with it.
