Ultimately it's always up to you to find their value. It varies for me depending on the specific playthrough and my goals. I like them as ship-crew members in most cases as they provide direct benefits and make the ship feel more alive. The XP bonus from a married partner was nice in my first playthrough, but that's not been as interesting to me in later playthrough (primarily because I can boost XP through gameplay options)

You had me literally lol, with "How do they fit?" More practical considerations we get to gloss over. I had a similar thought, especially when it comes to finding heat leeches. As humans we can't even find them on ships and we expect those giant creatures to wipe them out. That's probably why I'm 100% microbe-solution. For science!!!

I will caution you. This video is several months old and they've dropped two patches since then. I have had far less luck lately finding Stash Notes, let along farming them. The ones I do find still have a strange ':' in the description so they are buggy. The good news is the Tracker's Alliance vendor (coincidentally named Stache) is a good source of legendary items at this point.

Yeah, I forget they are pretty solid vs. ballistics. I did try the Vulture sniper on one in the New Atlantis spaceport. It put him out, but then I switched to attack and he 'woke up.' :)

Nice tip. I think I've done this with the Power pack before. The other packs wouldn't get me back up the fan shaft.

@@kineer Powerpack was smart move but I didn't have it on my run when I found this but had ranked up Boosted Jetpack perk, Ye the Hardest part was landing on the fan continually to get back out the cage if I failed to make it up, 7/10 difficulty for jump just a bit tricky but defiantly possible any movement speed chems help to of course and great Vid

That actually sounds unusual. In a normal universe, Sam Coe is usually in the courtyard at the Lodge (and ready to go) after you complete the Old Neighborhood quests with Sarah. If you skip the main quests, the companions should all be there, but they pop in at different times. I've not done that enough to see all variations (or even remember that last time vividly). Maybe someone else can chime in on Sam's location.

I still didn’t do that quest but after running around the galaxy a bit I went back to the lodge and Sam and Andreja were there so I snatched them up. Thanks for the help.

I used to quicksave/restore to make them work. Thought it was fixed until recently and it happened near some furniture.

My original approach was pre-Unity and I think that's the surest approach. There have been a couple of updates dropped since that video came out so I wouldn't be surprised if Bethesda tweaked it. It took me a few tries to find the last one, but they keep the little mobs from attacking once you kill the big one. Definitely worth a quick run between buildings.

Interesting question. The game is full of limits on loot drops based on level and location. I would expect those same limits to exist for him, e.g. if I were a level 10 character I wouldn't expect a Hard Target drop. In my tests, I don't recall seeing any "Superior" items, but I think there are no superior weapons in the game at all (at least labeled). I didn't record if items were Advanced, Calibrated, Refined, but one could. These are all really just observational studies. So regarding 'proof', I'd say there's little proof of anything in the game beyond what we observe. If you have a specific article or video that makes that claim, I'd look at it. Could end up being a fun test or reacts to video.

Thermal should provide both heat and cold. Keeping in mind that the total protection you can stack is limited to 85% and that's essentially damage reduction per tick from a potential of 10 pts/sec. So if you stacked 85 Thermal, you'd take (1-0.85)=0.15 or 15% of 10 pts / sec. This is 1.5 pts/sec. after the suit protection depletes. This is AFTER you start taking damage. For a few minutes, you can wander about with annoying beeping but no damage. Some planets have additional extreme conditions which stack both Cold and crazy storms. That depletes the suit protection faster, but I didn't think it changed the damage rate. Coincidentally, the live stream I just did Thursday night (queued here) was on Toliman. I chose the combined Constellation (suit) and Mark I (pack/helmet) and a Hazmat suit for 85% protection. You can see in this extreme environment I got 3 minutes of suit protection before taking yellow damage. I ran the quest (taking a few minutes inside with protection) for a total of 20 minutes of exposure. By the end I took close around 2000 pts of damage out of my total 3600 health. The math still seem about right. Well, I wouldn't exactly call it 'work'. ;) Some PC players, just gift themselves a lot of Astras. I wanted to see what it would take on Xbox as well. I've done more than a few 'extended Starfield statistical studies' though.

I haven't used Venus for this in a while, but on Copernicus IV sleeping 24 hours (local) is 2400 hours UT. I think that will reset just about anything (if it can be reset).

@@kineer Just before seeing this, I was going back and forth between other stuff and miraculously a marker showed up for the Vigilance showing that it was 50km away. Max'd my engines and boosted about 40 times to reach it. Docking now! Damn glitches. Looks like that's what others experienced and solved as well.

I have that option too, but I try to make content for Xbox and PC players so I 'did the work.' ;) That said, what do you think about the suits? Useful for you or just interesting to have? I was trying to think of a 'highly corrosive' environment. I remember a derelict ship once, but otherwise just an occasional planet.

I have found one Astra in the Kreet lab during the starting path from the final box (just before opening the door to the roof). So my answer is "I don't think so." They appear to just be loot now. The character in this video is level 152 and is only getting 1 at a time on a very low level system. I have seen 2 in a box, but seems rare.

I saw a Hello Kitty (pink) weapon skin set. So there are at least different colors. Haven't tried them yet. :)

The lighting was from the Ancient Mariner set. There are can lights and I use them everywhere. Expensive DLC and frankly I wasn't that excited about the furniture style but it has lighting and an infinite storage chest you can build in any Outpost or on your ships. Definite, pay for convenience item with a bonus.

I'm sure I had to restore a save for this reason. I tried to mention that in the video, but might not have emphasized it enough. I hope you find a way to advance the quest. If you're on PC, I know there's a console method for that. Details escape me, but I had to do that with Barrett's quest once.

Just restart the mission by disabling the mod an re-enabling it

I just ran into the same issue. I assumed it would just add to my fleet like other quest related ships.

Thanks Alan. I wonder what they are doing with these. They can likely fund a full time resource with the money they make off paid skins, but would one person even want to do that? There are 'free' skins on the store so I continue to believe BGS is trying to set a market value for skins. I also think one of my old Snow Globe videos made $3 so maybe I'm covered. ;)
