That’s not an R. It’s a 1098 base model. It goes 1098, then 1098s then 1098r which is an 1198.

The elephant in the room is the top speed and rev limiters built into the ECU. Unless you can confirm you’re able to remove both of these I don’t think anyone will be forthcoming to offer their bike as a test mule for ‘minor’ changes to fuelling and ignition.

Don't understand why you're chasing power on the 1290? It goes like a mofo as standard, unless you're racing, it just seems entirely pointless for what you must have spent, but hey you only live once

@bhpuk I have the same bike with similar mods. What I don’t understand is how a generic map (based on the mods) works, isn’t every bike slightly different? Or should I see this as something’s better than nothing? Also, do you have an EU warehouse? Import from UK is crazy expensive these days 😅

what numbers are expected after a tune for the 1300?

Considering it's an older bike, perhaps something else is the issue, for it to be running so lean?

I rode the 1300GS, not twice, but drove along 5000km, because it´s mine, and after having 2GS in the past, and the 1250R last year, I can surely say, is the best by far in everything, as it should be. This 1300GS is my 13th bike and is also the best bike I ever owned. The power and torque, for now, is more than enough, even the throttle in dynamic mode is pretty reactive.

I rode the 1300GS twice, I think its a downgrade, complete crap.

How lean was it with the decat?

I didn't think it would be an upgrade but, after having it for a month now, the difference is big in everything!

Got my 2022 XR recently and whilst i do love the bike the fuelling and throttle is horrid at low speeds, incredibly jerky

I think that the 1250 engine can be much better with the correct electronic changes. It will be always behind the 1300 BUT it is way less expensive.

Question is, can BHP make the 1250 remap close enough to the standard 1300, as makes no difference?

Don't really get the GS hype at all. Have experienced the "old and orthodox" air-cooled 1200 GS for a month - it was an OK bike, but quite heavy, tbh. Also, had a test ride on 1250GS and have to say, the torque of the motor is immense!
