Having owned 4 XR’s & the current owner of a tuned with full system MXR, I’d choose my previous (but now sold) SXR any day of the week. It was much more user friendly & had a great balance between touring & sports riding. The MXR likes to be ridden in the higher rev range & is a lot of bike to handle on the streets. I’m close to selling it & purchasing the new BMW K1600 GT Sports. Living in Australia means that I have to travel long distances to get to the good tarmac & riding the MXR can make for uncomfortable riding. Thanks for this video mate. Appreciate it
Great video Cal. I don't think I'd be buying the M over the S with those charts. The only way the M will be quicker is in a straight line and that's not what motorcycling is about for me. Give me torque all day long. Mind I do ride a @bhp_uk remapped KTM 1290 Super Adventure S 😁👌😎
For me you need to do a more indepth video on remapping. So eg how can you write a custom map remotely just by reading the ecu. So no dyno and no sniffer. Or is it just a generic but bike specific map?
Hi Qal, do you get much out of non decatted S1000XRs? Currently have my Gen 1 on a Black Widow decat with Akra end can with a poor map and want to get it remapped by you guys but pondering whether to go back to standard setup with Akra end can as the decat is loud for touring. Don’t want to lose the huge mid range gains I got from decat and remap though.
@@dstev55 If you use one of our ECU flashers you can have upto 10 maps stored on it and can upload any map you like. So for yourself you could have a map optimised for the decat and one for just the end can. That way you can swap between mechanical setups depending on what you were doing. There is a small charge for the second map but it’s not expensive. You’d have to contact the office for up to date prices 👍🏼

Top test and information as normal from the BHP team 👏👏👏👏🏴
The M1000xr is my dream bike but price will keep it a dream…
I still own 2016 s1000xr with BHPuk upgrade and very happy.
Is your bike decatted mate? And what power did it put out on the dyno?
Would love a comparison with a 1250 and 1300gs.
Purchased a map at NEC bike show for my BMW r1250RT. What a difference to smoothing out the power delivery. Thank you

How much wheel hp on tuned 1290?
@jonasbaine3538 143hp at 9100rpm and 98ibs/ft at 6600rpm.

M series all day! 😎
XR and £10K on the Honda CB1000R
Handlebar vibration is to much, shame
Multistrada Pikes Peak and RS.....another world, another price
But not really another level! Paying for the Ducati name.
