By the 31 minute mark. Amazed at how many of KC's line were being damaged by SD's O-line. Shame they dropped so many passes over the years. Thanks ~Brian
I remember this game VERY well. I was 13 years old and a freshman at Poway High School. I watched the game in the den with my Dad and we both thought the Chargers had the game wrapped up after Stan Humphries threw the TD pass to Mitchell to make it 23-16. But somehow we allowed the Chiefs to tie it in the final seconds, and we ended up losing in overtime. I have seldom been as angry as I was after this Chargers loss. I remember that my Dad threw his hat at the TV and screamed a profane term. Infuriating.
As a long time SAN DIEGO Chargers' fan who has always been heartbroken, leave it to the Chargers to ALWAYS find another way to COLLAPSE and NEVER seal the deal.......
Yep. I remember this heartbreak very well. I was 13 years old and a freshman at Poway High School. I'd been excited all day at school to come home and watch this Monday Night game with my Dad. We had the game wrapped up and somehow found a way to choke it away. Rarely have I been THIS angry after a Chargers loss.
@@jtstevenson81 this loss still haunts me to this day. Like the 2006 Patriots loss. This was a make or break game for that season and like always we choked .....
@@CoconutDesi Well in the end this game did not matter that much because we still made the playoffs and our playoff positioning was not affected by the loss. But nevertheless it was extremely frustrating at the time.
Was there. Left early to beat the crowd cause I was for sure they lost. Just left the gates when I heard the crowd when they tied it up. We ran to the car and listened to the rest on radio. Chiefs werent really known for a comeback offense back then so yeah i thought for sure it was over.
Both teams were AFC West Champions from 1992-1995.
1992: Chargers
1993: Chiefs
1994: Chargers
1995: Chiefs
I watched this game live back in the day. I know who's gonna win. I'm watching it here. And it still makes me nervous. Lol
WCW Monday Night Nitro this very same night is also on YT. Switch between these two to relive Monday Night on October 9th, 1995.
Not the entire nitro just 33 minutes of it

Always great to see #13 for SD in action. ~Brian
That was a hell of a drive by the Chiefs to force OT

I’m surprised your dad didn’t throw the TV!
@@francis1971 Me too. I never saw him that angry after a Chargers game until 2008 when Ed Hochuli stole the game from us against Denver.

Stan Humphries used to get his head kicked in, he was a tough SOB.
I really wish the NFL could release more years...
So where's the intro when the helmets collide?
2:09:03 the play Rodney Harrison would see in his sleep...at least until 2008 and you-know-who LOL
