If you're the cook at a restaurant you are easier to get a job at another restaurant because you at least know what you're doing compared to any minimum wage high school students that they can hire to be a cashier. It's why a doctor is more likely to get a job at another hospital or emergency clinic versus a generic janitor.

To be honest... he just has no where else to go. And he knows it. Now thats a true life lesson right there. Everyone thinks they are gonna be spongbob. But they either end up as squidward or if they are a particular type of person, they end up unemployeed and lazy like patrick.

Since starfish in real life don't have a brain, I always thought that his extreme stupidity was cleverly justified.

As much as I love spongebob theories. Love the lore but its literary just two guys making theories. Its literary not gonna affact anything dealing with the actual spongebob series unless there's a big special about it. The original concept of Spongebob's character was to make him a child that attended school. It was later changed to make him a childish adult. So instead of attending school, they have him going to boating school. In real life, driving school is very short, maybe just a couple days, so he keeps failing to keep the school story line going, as it was supposed to be a consistent school story line according to the original concept.
