Starting my union carpenter apprenticeship on November 5th!! Local 948 💪🏽
🔨 Love the holstery joey pouches. I own quite a few of their products.
does commercial carpentry skills convert to residential ? can i build a house with commercial carpentry skills?
@@kdoe_repeats Quick answer yes.
We are more of your face instead of the actual tools and work
@buyanimhlongo2414 im not sure what this comment means. But thank you for watching it. I appreciate it.
In the almost 30 years that I have been forming, I have owned many different makes of pouches. Badger are by far my favourite
I have worked in IT Industry from last 4 Years. Now, I am going to take a leap of faith and going to study Millwork and Carpentry (including Cabinetmaker). Any advise for me before I can begin my journey.
How about work boots? Steel toe or non steel toe?
How do you find your FIRST job as an apprentice with NO experience?
Where are you located?
Have you ever made a video on how some dues goes to the hourly rate for tax purposes?
Hey bro i just wanna know what would be the average pay in starting of apprenticeship ??
Question. After being accepted as an apprentice in the carpenters union, how do you get your first job? Does the hall dispatch you to your first job or do you have to go find your first job yourself?
You are for real. After a customer cheated me on a deck project refurbishing a deck with composite boards, . At the end refused to pay for my services. Plan to sue him. A union friend told me to join the union or you will be selling hotdogs at ball games. I called the union hall and they hired me on the door as z journeyman . With my experience, on my second assignment coming down off 4 x 4 lift I felt for the ground after they leveled it I dismounted my leg was damaged, they fired me for getting injured with permanent furlough. Denied work Comp unable to work for awhile Hired an attorney as the union said we stay out of it.
You should do more “a day in the life” so we can see more of ur day to day as a carpenter. Very interesting
Thanks for ensuring I don’t go for this carrier

I'm 43. Once the drug test comes back in a couple days, I'm going in and paying my fees and everything else to become part of the Indiana union. I'm incredibly nervous. From no insurance until 3 months of steady work. To not having immediate work. And above all else, absolute 0 experience. The uncertainty, no insurance a minimum of 3 months and having Rheumatoid Arthritis. Having to buy all the tools needed. This is an extremely unnerving undertaking. What is motivating me is the potential to make very good money. But the uncertainty is almost crippling.
Love it bro. Go Badger!
So I’m getting ready to join my local carpentry union just wondering how pay works like is this going to be enough to cover bills
My brother is interested in the carpenters union and your videos are really helping him to understand the process of how to join and how to not f up lol, you deserve more views honestly
100 pct rue in Al that was said. Minus weather work in the rain, snow, heat, cold, wind, sunburns, . Even just scares, and cuts, carpentry rough and for the tough. Even tool breaks from a fall or usage, or stolen at the job site, even simply lost. One job found three of my tape Measures scattered around, no longer ya go ahead I have few in my tool box No longer, but your own I have six each one for finish d a purpose. My pack out cheaper will have x chain wrapped around it and locked In my union long layoffs 3 or more months off Also no per diem unless 75 miles or more from the capital. I like the work, the variety and the challenges. Also is not acoustic ceiling guys firing a pool to shoot into steel, a sheet metal working with metal snips air or Bater rather koi. All the lifts and warning sounds emitted
I've been elf employed for thirty years a customer cheated me out of near three grand on a deck refurbish. I called the local union I was hired as a journeyman, being a newbie barely work one company I was by accident injured, they denied me me work comp by putting m on furlough. I called the union they won't back me and don't get involved. What a rip
I got rid of the Makita. If you really want something better than Makita, Festool is kinda your next bet. What's interesting about the systainer system is the footprint as they don't take that much space. Now, Makita will be making an announcement soon in regards to their new storage organization known as Trail Lok. I am somewhat excited because now I have something to store my Makita tools. This way I can downsize my Festool storage system as they are expensive and that's how I have been using them for storing my Makita tools and all my finish neat gritty.
I was a carpenter for 6 years I loved work.. and happy i did it. I overcame my laziness and learn good work ethic. But I eventually gave it up. I realized the whole time almost nobody was willing to really teach me what was going on. Found myself onstantly treated like an underling and disrespected. Being surrounded by guys that literally hated their job and used that hate as motivation to work hard, regardless if I was down range or not. Many of them were drunk or high and lacked the social skills to communicate without being rude Little respect was given to the works just slam it together and get it done.
Your name is Antonio?? From what local?
How do I become a union carpenter in California… pls help I’m 29 and have nothing but this seems amazing… only have 47$ in my bank account
Thanks for the video i am taking cabinetmaking classes at local community college i am 41 and cabinetmaking instructor is trying to get me to join there local carpenter union
What’s your Discord
I’m local 217 , and this hits home
Broooo drop new vids we Waitin 😎
I'm working on it fam!
Would you PLEASE sell those boots to me????
Looking to join my local carpenters union. I have 5 years experience in commercial construction have already been a laborer for 2 years and have been a carpenter for 3. Not looking to start back at square 1 is there ways of testing out of certain things in the apprenticeship so you don’t just start out at just a laborer?
Your a great teacher brother, I like how you explained the lift process and agitating the 2 lifts together and how important that it. You made that crystal clear, I enjoy your content.
Thank you for this video brother. I will be starting my carpenters apprenticeship soon. This is all great information!
The commute thing is true for alot of construction im a masons laborer and rn the site is 15 minutes away from home I sleep in every day😂 but other times I have to be up at 3 am to go to a job an hour and a half away
I did carpentry in the '90s lasted 6 months worst job ever had especially working outside with a noseems they bite the crap out of you from sunrise to sunset and the spray does not help you and the only people who make money are the foremans and the contractors. Also never work for big companies they treat you like crap always try to work for the small man or work for yourself. Me personally never be a carpenter only for a hobby
I hate my current job but after watching your video on carpentry I will stay far away from this career choice. Thank you 🙏🏼
🔥🔥🔥🔥
where did your buddy get the first aid pouch?
Right now I’m in hvac school and im thinking to switching career to carpentry
Nice review man! Been thinking about getting this for my bags, nail, gun and rear handle saw
I’m a struggling freelance graphic designer who’s considering going into carpentry. The only downside is that it’ll take five years to become certified but my current situation hasn’t improved so it looks like this could be a decent career path. As someone who’s very artistic, I’m hoping carpentry will allow me to apply my skills Side note: Dude, Thanks so much for being very politically partisan in this video! As someone who is voting for Trump in a very hostile environment, I love videos like this. Im very sorry to hear all the horrific drama that happened in that story you mentioned. That’s awful that that happened but I’m glad the Union was able to sort it out professionally
I wanna join the union but I have fear of heights is there a way where you choose that you can only build like stores or houses or stuff but not high buildings? 😭lol

Couldn’t tell from the video but is there a designated square pocket?
@@hwpo7197 There are 2 pockets for squares. One for a six inch and another for a 4 inch.
@@unscriptedwithantonio thanks man I been debating between these and a set of diamond backs. The deciding factor was that badger can match my Martinez hammer
@hwpo7197 I really like my badger bags.
Bro!! Just ordered my badger bags. I went with the trimmer set since I’ve been doing concrete layout. Don’t really need big framer Occidental’s anymore. Super stoked to have the quick draw McGraw hammer sleeve
@artesuave4760 hell yeah, bro!
no clue why im watching this as a 7th grader but im set on being a carpenter
