Bro stop the glaze
Good review, one thing, though. I hate when reviewers slam puzzles in games like this or elder scrolls or uncharted by saying "how have none of these npcs figured this out yet? They must be so dumb!". If they made a puzzle tough enough that it's believable it hasn't been solved in years or even centuries, then it needs to be one the player doesn't solve either. The way to look at these puzzles is that lore-wise they are incredibly elaborate, we're presented with a puzzle that is meant as a place holder for the one in universe.
As a suggestion for future videos, I would really love to hear your take on the "A Plague Tale" games. There are two of them in the franchise and I absolutely loved both of them. Just like Dishonored ( :))) ), u can choose to approach enemies either head on or by using stealth. I really hope you'll talk about them sometime <3
Yo, i just stumbled across your channel and i binge watched your last 3 videos back to back, i rly love this type of content. Im actually supposed to be studying for my finals rn but i was absorbed by your content. I love u Billy T^T Keep it up <333
Delilah has a dlc in the previous game about how she acquired her powers, I played it but I don't remebrer much
One note, I really appreciate games that give you strict checkpoints. I know it's easy to have the thought that "I already did it, why do I have to do it again", but you're missing the forest for the trees. The game isn't just testing you on your ability to do it, doing it isn't hard, it's testing you on your consistency. Did you get lucky or do you actually know what you're doing? Can you string everything together or are you only good enough to go 1 step at a time? The challenge of doing an entire level in one go I think is something that gives you more validation in your play than any kind of challenge where you can push the progress bar forward but it can never go backwards. Wasting time watching loading screens and cinematics suck really hard, sure, but when you're in control of the game, you should be forced to do the whole shebang. Makes you feel like a genuinely good player.
Jesus christ how do you play with this FOV I'm getting motion sick just watching.
It's the default FOV? LOL, I didn't mess with that at all.
@@BillytheCorgi Oh man, whenever I open a game I crank the FOV up to max, otherwise I can't play first person stuff at all. Any FOV below 100 feels like having binoculars tied to your head.
1) im watching your Styx videos and you narrate very well, in other english videos people talk like shit and i barely get the sentences xD 2) no trial of the ropes ? i was expecting that from the mechanics xDDD
hope your situation is looking up, or looks up in the future 👍 praying for your uprising.
This is why Garrett is not very good at fighting in the old thief games; Because If combat wasn't very difficult, barely anybody would commit to stealth.
I think the reason dwarves may have a strong sense of smell is because mountains and caves can have deadly gasses, which usually have a faint or mostly undetectable scent, so dwarves being from these deep areas are probably extra hearty against those gasses as well as being better at detecting them.
❤
is that fragrance of dark coffee playing in the background?
The thing about the Fibonacci sequence is that you don't have to memorize it, if you know the principle you can easily derive it at will.
HOLY SHIT HOW DOES ONE COME INTO POSSESSION OF AN EXTRA COLLECTORS EDITION OF ARCANE THATS SO LUCKY. I asked for it for Christmas when it came out but I forgot to remind my parents and it sold out :( I’ve been watching the prices on eBay but I can’t justify paying any of those prices.
I just want ONE more game in this series and I also think there was so much more potential for this series
best stealth game is splinter cell blacklist. beck mechanics that have never been replicated even today.
bro what is this dishonored fov??? change this shi'****
@@juanwebm ?
There's no better stealth game than SC Chaos Theory. It's essence is literally "you've never been there".
play intravenous 2 (High difficulty) 👍
This was a kind of a cool game but the level design is what put me off... I couldn't finish it. So that's why I never even tried Shards of Darkness
You're objectively wrong my guy.
No you
👍
I don't like you for not mentioning splinter cell super early on when you started mentioning "known" titles for stealth games.. lmao
Good stuff
Dishonoured is one of my favourite games of all time. It's not a stealth game, though; it's an immersive sim. The original game didn't even have non-lethal routes originally, until play-testers started trying to find them.
It's so sad that I already know about the Styx games, I really hoped to find some good stealth game I haven't played yet. Though I can't say they are better than Dishonored (at least the first game), because there are a lot of missions that are just really frustrating. I can't make myself replay Styx because of that. I've finished Dishonored 1 more than 15 times, and I'm not sure if I will ever stop coming back to it.
Splinter cell is peak stealth
I love both Styx games...Platinum for both
wait....u can roll in this game? i beat it without rolling.....SO THATS WHY THE TRIAL OF COURAGE WAS A BIITICHHH
u can kill arlock and flack-jack normally without loosing ur insignia btw
Yeah, I figured that out later on, I even mentioned it later in the video, LOL. It took until the mission where you HAVE to kill the dwarf, no ifs ands or buts about it, for me to learn "if there's a quest to kill them, it doesn't count"
Shards of Darkness is an even better game, as a sequel. Maps are absolutely gorgeous, with even more paths to go through.
"You've Never Played Stealth Like THIS"... I've literally PLAYED this game and followed it on Reddit when the developer was discovering/figuring out the mechanics way back when. But its fun. It felt more like a puzzle game than anything else.
10:35 every single immersive sim has to include either 0451 or 451 as the first combination to the first door or safe
the music at 9:09 is familiar what is it?
Sam and Max OST - The Office
ok a man who is capable of worsen and creating plague by killing lots of people and then a goblin who is welcome to commit genocide and without having a consequences.....ah yes
?
Feel like this video was proving Dishonored is better than Styx
21:07 jumping isnt required to solve this passage. This is visible when you exit the room and can see the solution in full. No jumps are required.
FYI, the game does suggest poisoning enemies during the load screen as a tip. I loved this video, it inspired me to play Styx for the first time and I'm thoroughly enjoying it!
I remember playing this game when it came out and having an absolute blast with it. Pleasantly surprised by the gameplay and Styx himself looks rad as hell imo.
As someone who has 100% in mark of the ninja and Styx: SoD and MoS, I would say Styx games are superb stealth games. It's been ages since I played SoD, but it's the only game I've ever completed to perfection without playing anything else in-between, and I got 100% in MoS last year, although for some reason I didn't enjoy it as much. The enemy density in MoS is absolutely wild sometimes! There are several areas where you have 4-6 people surveiling a small room, and I'm just sitting in a jar for 3 minutes waiting for a small gap to run through Then I absolutely loved Mark of the Ninja for both purist and genocide runs.
Styx is better
I know it's not generally smart to share your age on the internet, but I've enjoyed stealth games for a long time now, I remember seeing a youtuber I used to watch called TheRadBrad playing a dishonored playthrough and I became hooked, when I got an Xbox one at about 11 I was obsessed. One of the few games I've ever completed 100% (with dlc of course). And a couple of years back when I had a 360 I had discovered the mark of the ninja demo, I couldn't download it because my 360 was glitched and wouldn't allow internet connection, so about 2-3 years after having my Xbox one I remembered that game, I loved it, completed the game in one night and all the dlc too, this is uncharacteristic for me as I don't play games much and mostly focus on sports irl. I say all this to demonstrate the point that stealth games are by far my most favorite games ever, of course my friends like siege and Fortnite, but for me my favorite game franchise ever is dishonored, and mark of the ninja shares the number one spot with dishonored because I just can't allow myself to put it into second lol. I've played styx and enjoyed it, but I think what made dishonored good was the freedom of choice, and I feel that Styx is more linear and also you can't play that role of "I'm not locked in here with you, you're locked in here with me." Though I prefer max difficulty, non-lethal, ghost runs for stealth in general so styx definingly was a good game for me, but it still doesn't allow that power fantasy of dishonored, and I don't feel it. y was a good game for me, but it still doesn't allow that power fantasy of dishonored, and I don't feel it should be said that it's better, I would say its good, but not as good as mark of the ninja or dishonored.
Try playing Aragami inspired game Ereban Shadow Legacy.
If you liked first entry of Aragami you're not going to like the second one.
Both Dishonored and Styx are awesome games.
I don't think Dishonored can even be considered a stealth game. It's basically a sandbox sim like almost every other Arkane game they ever made and the stealth aspects feel pretty much tacked on. Stealth games by definition kind of need stealth to be a core aspect of the gameplay where trying to be non-stealthy is basically guaranteed death, which is definitely not the case for Dishonored (it's also why Assassin's Creed IMO shouldn't be considered a stealth game series either). Dishonored has more in common with Spec Ops: The Line with its hamfisted finger-wagging at the player for doing what the game practically encourages you to do and absurdly over-the-top morality system which doesn't even make sense at times (Arkane partially remedied some of these issues with Dishonored's Daud DLC and Dishonored 2 but also introduced other issues).
Every genre has to be niche.
Domino absolutely breaks the balance of the game, especially with it being basically free to use
this had me excited and invested for six hours until i had an unfixable game breaking bug where guards would get alerted even though they shouldnt be in that situation. made it impossible to progress. dropped the game
I tried to get through this game so many times, never finished it. Maybe because I got this game at the exact same time I got Thief
