I've lost over 130 pounds after a lifelong struggle with obesity and a bad relationship with food. By changing my mindset, my eating habits, and staying consistent I was able to lose the weight and transform my health. On this channel I'm sharing my own personal experiences and what has worked for me, and my hope is that my videos can help encourage others who may be struggling with the same issues I've dealt with. I always thought change was impossible for me, but I want to assure everyone that anyone can change!
Crispy High Protein CHICKEN NUGGETS for Weight Loss!
These crispy and delicious chicken nuggets are lower in calories than typical nuggets, and are loaded with 67g of protein! These are tasty, filling, and great for weight loss.
RECIPE:
10oz / 284g Ground Chicken
3 tbsp / 46g liquid egg white for meat
½ tsp salt
½ tsp pepper
½ tsp MSG
½ tsp ground mustard
½ tsp garlic powder
½ tsp onion powder
½ tsp smoked paprika
Breading:
3 tbsp / 46g liquid egg white for dredging
41g crushed corn flakes
Add same seasonings as before to taste.
Take 10 oz of ground chicken and thoroughly mix in 3 tbsp of liquid egg whites and seasonings. Once combined, use a 1 oz cookie scoop and scoop out 1 oz of the chicken mixture. Wet your hands to prevent sticking and form into a chicken nugget shape. Place on a tray lined with parchment paper and repeat the process until you have 10 nuggets. Place nuggets in the freezer for 30 minutes to firm up. While nuggets are in freezer, take a Ziploc bag and add 41g of corn flakes to it. Crush them in the bag by hand or using a rolling pin until they resemble bread crumbs. Sprinkle in more of the same seasonings and shake bag to mix thoroughly. Place corn flake crumbs in a bowl for breading station, and place 3 tbsp liquid egg whites in a second bowl. Take chicken nuggets out of freezer. Dip one in egg whites, then coat with corn flake crumbs and place on a tray lined with parchment paper. Repeat for rest of nuggets. Spray nuggets with some cooking spray, then place sprayed side down into your air fryer basket, and spray them again. Sprinkle with salt and pepper and air fry at 400°F / 200°C for 15 minutes, flipping after 10 minutes. Place nuggets on a plate, allow them to rest for a moment and enjoy with your favorite low calorie sauce!

What part of the chicken is the "ground chicken"? Is it breast, thigh, or both?
@@lepe I believe it's a mix of breasts, thights, and probably drumstick and wings as well. For a more precise option, grinding or mincing specific meat like breasts or thighs only would work as well. But I'm satisfied with the pre-ground packaged chicken. 😊

We make nuggies a lot. We get that same BBQ sauce. We don't have an air fryer but my wife's cousin gave us an air fryer pan thing for the oven. It works great. This recipe looks easy and much healthier than the stuff we have been getting. Definitely adding to our list.
Thanks, I hope you enjoy them! I really like the flavor and the crispiness of the breading on these. The air fryer pan sounds like a great option as well! I think they need to bake slightly longer in an oven, but should still turn out just as good. 😄

@paulshealthfitness7922 If you put it back in the freezer, it will freeze again. But to store leftover ice cream just smooth out the top and refreeze, and put it in the Ninja Creami again next time you're ready to enjoy more.

I get them from the food labels as well as the FitBit app. Calories for the ingredients in one sandwich: Thomas' Light Multi Grain English Muffin: 100 Jennie O Regular Turkey Sausage, 3 oz: 150 Great Value Liquid Egg Whites, 3 tbsp: 25 Kraft Fat Free American Cheese: 25 TOTAL: 300
Those egg rings are for flater surfaces , cast iron skillets are more rigid

Sorta bummed watching you recommend ingredients that aren't real food. Kraft 'cheese' slices are basically plastic and so is 'I can't believe its not butter' bc it isn't butter. Sandwiches look good, but aren't good for you.
When the game is weight loss/low calories you tend to walk that line. When you compare processed cheese to unprocessed cheese slices, the difference is 40-50 calories and it's the same with i can't believe it's not butter it's just something you have to acknowledge and get out of that mindset that its not good for you when most of the time that never applies unless you have health issues because theirs plenty of fitness youtubers that will eat this and say it's fine
With his before and after pic, I'm sure he is having a hard time sleeping at night eating that Kraft....please stop with the policing of people content. If you are unhappy with it, create your own recipes with your own ingredients, problem solved!

As someone who used to work at mcds I can say you again nailed it. They use a little metal circle on a stick with liquid eggs to make the disks. But your trick works perfectly. And it's waaaay healthier.

@YourHealthyLifePath I'm finding home made is better for my overall health. I feel full, no gut rot (stomach aches, or the 💩), less calories and oddly enough more energy. Sure it's a little more expensive getting the supplies but cheaper if I maximize my cooking. On average I spend $70 a week on food costs.

Nice Easier method if you happen to have one: sous vide machine
stir the water a little to that you know it's hot all over and not just in one spot and bring it up to 141 or 142 and go for 4 minutes. These consumer thermometers might be off a degree or 2

My wife likes when I try to make pasteurized eggs because I constantly mess it up and she gets perfectly cooked hardboiled eggs. The process is simple but you REALLY need to pay attention.
Yep! It's simple but requires precision. I've messed it up far too many times, haha. A lot of times I get TINY bits of cooked egg white in there, and I normally just use those egg whites in a scramble, which turns out great. 😁
@TheCogIsShred if you beat those whites into a froth you can make a really fluffy omelet. It's super tasty and low fat. I like to put shredded cheese and peppers in mine. So it's not all bad when I mess up or even succeed.

The fun part about this is you get to say bagel. This seems like a good early morning meal especially for travel days. When I travel I tend to have a heavier breakfast and skip lunch completely.
Sounds like a decent plan! I found some keto bagels online I'm interested in trying, but most of the specialty keto bread items you have to order online are really expensive. So I generally try to use items that are more easily accessible and more reasonably priced.
@@TheCogIsShred cost is always a factor when trying to control weight gain. Often I find i have to have less of the cheap fatty food to stay on target. It's difficult when options are limited.

Lol! The channel name is a parody of my band name "The Cog is Dead." I've never been shredded and probably never will be. I'm no expert, I'm just a guy who struggled with weight all my life and I'm sharing what has helped me lose over 100 pounds and ways I avoid regaining it all. Weight fluctuates, life has its ups and downs, and for most people it's a daily struggle. My goal is to encourage people to do their best, and the recipes I share work well for me - even though sometimes I'm more strict with my routine than others. Its true there are plenty of channels with people whose goal is to be super lean and shredded all the time. My goal is just sharing my journey and what has worked for me so far. 😁

It’s amazing how much protein is in FF cheese. I’m always at 40% minimum of my macros being protein. It’s great little tricks like this that help me keep my protein goals. Another good recipe to add to my arsenal. Thank you.
Chicken seems to be a vengeful meat. Cook too little and get sick, cook too much and it's nasty, bite it too soon and it burns your face. But it's worth the risk, this looks amazing and tasty. I'll probably use A1 or BBQ as the sauce instead of the hot sauce though.
