Welcome to Future Shock Digital. I've been editing video since 2005 and have used pretty much every NLE. I have real-world media experience and In my videos I try to be as informative as possible but at the same time I like to show you sights and sounds of a land down under, Australia.
I upload as frequently as possible but am planning to increase.

Repairing a DUSTY Sigma 24-70mm f2.8 - Step by step guide
O dear, your Sigma 24-70mm f2.8 has dust INSIDE the lens, and it can't be removed without opening it. What do you do? In this video I show you how to unscrew and remove the front element in order to access the interior of the lens, to remove dust. It was easier than I thought, and in retrospect, I should have done it years ago.

Zeiss 55mm 1.8 - Long term review: portraits and comparisons
Переглядів 1,3 тис.7 місяців тому
Hello UA-cam! The Zeiss 55mm 1.8 for Sony E-Mount is a fantastic prime lens best suited for bokeh filled portraits, but how much bokeh is too much? In this video I avoid comparisons with the Sony 50mm 1.8 and attempt to compare the Zeiss to the Canon 50mm 1.8 - plastic fantastic - Nifty Fifty - but soon abandon that premise and segue into rants on Zack Snyder's Army of the Dead and its terrible...
Going Wide with the Tamron 10-24mm - f3.5-4.5
Переглядів 902Рік тому
The Tamron 10-24mm lens is a made for Canon APSC lens, however you can mount it on a full frame Canon camera, or in my case a Sony a7iii with the Sigma MC-11 adapter. In this video I mainly use it for timelapses of vistas where it excels. For vlogging, due to the very noisy auto focus it might be a miss, as well 10mm up to about 20mm being highly distorted anyway for flattering faces. It is che...
Deflicker Timelapses: Lens twist method with Dummy adapter - Tamron 10-24mm F/3.5-4.5

Do your time-lapses suffer from flickering? This could well be due to the aperture opening and closing between shots. In this video, I show you the lens twist method to deactivate the camera's communication to the lens, and then to lock it in, I recommend using a dummy adapter. This will work if you are using a mirrorless camera, and are trying this method on a SLR lens. The lens that I am usin...

10 Tips for Better Time-lapse Videos
Переглядів 413 роки тому
I love Time-lapses. I call them the King of B-Roll. With B-roll, I'm never sure if the shot will make the final cut, but with time lapses, they more often than not make the cut. There is a certain element of the transcendent that they instill in scene; they make you feel aware that you watching a moment in time, that is fleeting, fading, and then gone forever, so quick, that the details of the ...
MAX LENS MOD + GoPro Hero 9 - Review

The MAX LENS MOD takes your shaky GoPro to the next level by promising super smooth footage, and the results are excellent. In this independent review - no one has influenced my views or provided me with products* - I take the Max Lens Mod for a test drive over a few months. The Max lens mod can be strangely difficult to get at stores and online, but if you see it, grab it, as it is quite worth...
Lumix 25mm f1.7 - Lens review - the Prime lens to get?
Переглядів 1033 роки тому
Lumix 25mm f1.7 - One Prime Lens for Micro Four Thirds. In this video I take the Panasonic Lumix lens on a road trip to South Australia. I wanted to test the idea of can I get away with just one lens? In my previous video, I used two lenses for the trip, and what I didn't mention, is that it was really tiring carrying all that weight, even with an APS-C camera. I forgot to mention: for vlogging...
Sigma 8-16mm f4.5-5.6 DC - Ultra Wide Angle Review

Is the Sigma 8-16mm 4.5-5.6 lens too wide? What is a rectilinear ultra wide angle lens? In this video I show what kind of shots you can get with it, I talk about the warping and distortion of subjects in the corners, and some of the quirks of this lens. For example: the lens tends to make things that are far away way too small and insignificant; the Uluru shots are rendered to about 5 pixels ac...
Sony 28mm f2 Prime Lens: All-rounder?

Is the Sony 28mm f2 an all-rounder lens? In this video I attempt to answer that question. I've used this lens as my main go-to for my Sony 6500, a cropped image camera, and I'm quite happy with the versatility of the focal length. I've used it for portraits, videos, landscapes, time-lapses and gimbal work. Also, in this video I wanted the footage to speak for itself; unlike other reviews, I'm n...
Lumix G95 Long Term Review: More than a B-cam!

Part 2 of my Panasonic Lumix G95 review. In the first video I had the camera for one month, in part 2, I've had the camera for 10 months, so I hopefully that would have given me a bit more insight. The Lumix G95 is a great camera, however, it is not perfect. The 4K is a bit noisy, and the slow mo is as well. Auto focus for video is a bit 'drifty' and for low light it is a no go. However! It has...

Just because it's soft and manual focus, doesn't mean it's useless! This vintage lens is small and fast and does the trick. The Adaptall-2 system was a 'one lens to rule them all' system by Tamron where they create one lens, and different lens mounts to go with it. The aim was to create a value system. Today I would like to introduce to you the Fujian 35mm f1.6 mk I. This is all shot on the Sony a6500 - a cropped image body with in-body image stabilisation. I'm using a C-mount to E-mount adapter. C-mount is a screw-in type fitting found on CCTV security cameras. The timelapses were shot with an ND filter, and step-up rings as the front element is 35mm. Picked one up yesterday second hand with an ND filter for $450 (AUD) and can't wait to get out and about with it...
that b rol is crazy good! made me wanna visit australia!
i bought a used one with dust inside. I tried DIY after watching this and I failed. What everyone on YT failed to mention and mostly the most essential thing to mention that all modern camera lense manufacturers uses proprietary glue on one of the three screws. I ruined the screw trying all high quality screw drivers I have. If I knew this fact, I would have easily remove it by using either isoprophyl drops meticulously for few sessions or use some chemicals like acetone as last resort. I am now on the look out for screw extractor. Not really worried about disassembling but first does give anxiety a bit and happiness on successful attempts.
I am glad Sigma fixed this problem in their last versions as my version should not ever have this problem but THANK YOU for making this video.
You have convinced me friend. I will try this lens. I love my vintage Zeiss 50 f1.8 Plannar so maybe this is a great AF version? We shall see.
This Zeiss would blow any Canon F1.8 out of the water. Even the very good STM version.
Any good??? What question is that...No...it's a trash!
Just picked up a G95 as a B Cam to my GH5. This is THE BEST review video I’ve come across for this camera. Well done!
Great video! I’m currently debating spending a lot of money buying a 50 GM f1.2 or f1.4 and my biggest concern is the CA wide open. Is most of it removable in post on LR or is it difficult to remove? I mainly shoot weddings
CA is hit or miss to remove, rather don't rely on post too much - just stop down
Me too
Which one you buy now?
@@fanzasuardinata3017 I bought the Zeis but I find it to be soft wide open.

I have shot some of my best images with this lens.

@ yeah no one cares
What a great review and fantastic footage and humor, thanks. I found your channel while searching for the Astron MC 28-70mm btw and found your bike ride videos :). Never really considered shooting time lapse before, thanks for the inspiration, gonna give it a try. Coincidentally spent some time during the last few days trying to track an upgrade path ahead with M43 - or not. I've found capable AF workarounds for video on my G80 that's good enough for my usage and an improvement from the worst case scenarios you shared here. So to anyone on sort of the same budget, wedding and event shooters included, please consider the DfD Lumix G80, G90, G100, GH4 and GH3 and so on, B-cam or not. There are ways to make them work without having to double or tripple budget towards E-M1 II or newer bodies.
nice review..salam from Yogyakarta Indonesia
In the Adaptall II line of lenses, Tamron made two classes or qualities of lenses. There were the regular Adaptall II lenses, which included the one discussed here. They were much like the other third--party lenses from Japanese makers of the era: inexpensive, adequate for snap shooting, nothing special. The second line of Adaptall II lenses were label "SP" for Special Performance. These lenses were of a quality mostly equal to the best lenses from the major manufacturers (Nikon, Pentax, Canon), optical performance as good as any, not inexpensive, but usually costing less than an equivalent Nikkor or Takumar. These SP lenses are very inexpensive on the used market and a real bargain today. Their problem is that many of the best are very hard to find.
I dont think they ever made an SP version of this lens. Or at least if they did, I can't find any records online of them
@@chonk2740 This 28mm was not an SP lens, ever. Most of the SP lenses have something different or unique about them. The prime lenses were either cutting edge for the time or had some unique property. For example, the 500mm mirror lens was the first of the relatively inexpensive lenses of that type. There were several 300mm, but one was a 2.8 (three version over time) and the other was a 5.6 macro focussing lens using a floating element lens group to maintain quality down into the very close focus range. (This semi-macro telephoto is a sweet lens and usually fairly cheap used, but quite hard to find.)
Hi really nice places .... one question you say in the video that this lens can be used for video shooting. How did you use it ... at what focal length ??? you were moving it all the time for focusing ??? I am interested in buying one on the internet ... give me some tips ... i like vintage style shooting, this lens may be for me ... greetings
28mm on APSC is 56mm, manual focusing. It's cheap enough to simply take a risk and buy it.
I was really thinking this would be the camera I chose, but with the auto focus I'm not so sure. D: Thanks for making this video, it was helpful!
No camera has perfect auto focus until they are able to telepathically read our minds. By then, we might have other problems to worry about.
Great video! I wan to buy same lens, just dont know its fits on Nikon d300 ?
Yes, you will need a cheap tamron to Nikon adapter
Men conecting FD - EOS CANON 80D?
You will need a Tamron to Canon adapater, or a FD to EOS adapter
Would you buy it again?
Yes, in fact, I had an old copy that I damaged, and I bought it again to replace it.
Only 20mbps in 24fps in 1080p? Even my Olympus EPL-9 does 52mbps in 1080p and no crop in 4K (at 102mbps). This fact makes all those other great features fly out of the window for me.
Astron is the house brand of the Australian Sigma and Pentax importers (CR Kenedys). That one is a Sigma made lens but other Astron lenses were made by other less known lens manufacturers.
wow, thanks for the info
Just bought one on ebay for £3.70. Looks ace

Hey I found this lens with a film camera that got lended to me by my mother. (can't garuntee is that same lens as she also had a DLSR k1000 I think.) It came with a sigma instruction booklet more digging to do later as im busy atm but I would be happy to upload it.
I reckon it is a Sigma lens too. Thanks for the info, don't worry about uploading the booklet.
What do you set your aperture to when taking these photos?
You adjust the aperture according to the light meter in the viewfinder, which requires a battery
Thank you, almost bought this lense thinking it was for extremely small pictures.
No worries, the lens is hardly macro, maybe back in the 80s they had different standards.
I'm glad you like it. The fisheye/rectilinear distortion trade-off is unrelated to the sensor size. It's only related to field of view. The issue is if you go too wide with rectilinear, you get horrible geometric distortions, where objects get stretched towards the corners of the frame. You can see this in the iPhone's ultra-wide camera (where they warp the image to make it rectilinear). Objects get horribly-stretched in the corners. Having a "fisheye" distortion avoids that issue, and the GoPro lens distortion is specifically designed to give the best results across the frame. This is also the main reason why the GoPro's "linear lens" crops in quite a bit. To avoid horrible stretching.
That guys pretty cute

hi, am a beginner and i just got this camera! what film do i buy, can i just use any film or do i need some special ones? could you recommend me some? also, great video & thanks a lot
Any 35mm film can be used!
Just ordered this for my Ricoh XR-S film camera. Great shots of what looks like Galungan (?) festival. Now I'm dying to go shoot film in Bali!!! Good review, sad to hear that it won't do much for macro shooting but seems versatile and sharp otherwise.
It wasn't Galungan festival, it was a festival for a particular temple outside Ubud, near Singakerta I think.
Selamat datang di Indonesia~ Semoga kau menikmati pemandangan dan budaya kita
Terimah kasi pak. Saya rindu Indonesia dan belaja bahasa Indonesia.
Could you please explain the metering system on this camera please? I have both versions CLC and later plain 100x version. Thank you
The metering with centre weighted (if I'm not mistaken). When the camera is turned on, at the bottom of the camera, in the viewfinder you will see a pin and a circle, by adjusting the shutter speed or the aperture, the pin will point to the circle, then you have a 'correct' exposure, according to the meter. If for whatever reason it is not working, you can try 'The Sunny 16 Rule,' an external meter, or a mobile app.
so, are you recommend g95 bro?
Yes, however, I also might recommend with it the fast 25mm 1.7 from Panasonic, due to the Micro-Four-Third's poor low light performance. I'll be reviewing this lens soon.
Thanks for the review. I also have a A6300 with the mc-11 adapter. Does the AF work in video? IS? Thanks heaps for creating this video!
The auto-focus works in video, however, it is pretty bad. On paper the IS works, but I haven't tested it with a stabilised lens.
