It's amazing that the pedestrians just ignore it. It is surprising how quickly a bike stops if one accidentally gets "hit" by the rider's arm.

I really don't understand why they are not prosecuted? A driver is prosecuted as people and cyclists are vulnerable. Lorry drivers have to look after everyone below them, car drivers look after everyone below them and they will all get in trouble as they have a dangerous weapon and it is their responsibility to look after everyone. So cyclists have the same responsibility to pedestrians. But almost nothing is ever done???

Cyclists are doing themselves no favours and the policing authority have no idea how to deal with it. Yet if you enforce a registration system and insurance for cycles, it would have a huge positive impact on pedestrians as cyclists will then be held to account.

Cyclists and electric scooters are a public menace, with no responsibility. Government need to make them get insurance, register their vehicle and pay towards the road tax.

There an easy way for this to be dealt with, and once the news gets around, cyclist might be scared to run red lights. So the police ask for cycle camera and dashcam footage, which will come with a £50 reward, if cyclist is prostituted. Still are place on Facebook, and were asked to share, and if anyone can identify the cyclist, there a £200 reward, if this leads to a prostitution. All parties who report the cyclists, will have there identity protected, so no one will know who reported them Any cyclist who gets reported, and ends up in court, will have to pay the following: £150 fine, £100 court costs, £250 towards the rewards, and of course 3 points on there licence. If this was done, and cyclists repeatedly ended up in court, I believe the number of cyclist would come down, as you dont know who watching, and will report you

So let's weigh up the potential damage and do some damage limitation. Cyclist goes through red light. collides with pedestrian, pedestrian sustains through no fault of their own while the cyclist sustains an injury through their own recklessness. Damage limitation. A stick 'accidently' dropped in to the spokes of the front wheel of a bike being ridden by a cyclist running a red light! The results 1 broken stick, one cyclist experiencing an emergency stop zero pedestrians injured and some fantastic footage for UA-cam!

That f*cking Lime bike could crash to pregnent women, and eldery people. I believe Lime bike should take some resposibilty. They should make systems that dangerous law breaking riders to be banned permanently. Unfortunately, they think about their pocket rather than people safety.

Unfortunately Net Zero carbon goal is more important than people safety. These rental bike companies make profit from renting out bicycles. All Green transportation and Net Zero policies are new ways for making money. If people safety was more important, the government would register all bicycles and e-bikes with number plate, so cyclists would follow the rule same as motorists, and e.g. stop at Zebra Crossing for pedestrians. It is a war between oil companies and some hidden organizations. Electric cars and bikes are going to pay Road Tax in near future. The Road Tax is based on CO2 emission and polluting the air. Why should electric cars and bikes pay Road Tax!!?? Are they going to pollute the air!!?? The government previously claimed that diesel is clean fuel, and after years, they claimed that it is more pollutive than petrol!! I hope people wake up.

If only there was some police presence very near there..

Why not just stop cycling through red lights completely. Even better why not confirm to all the rules of the road as you are legally required to do.

I'm a cyclist of many years, this is disgraceful behaviour and getting worse. The rules of the road apply to all users.

A majority of cyclists are a law unto themselves,riding through red lights not stopping at junctions , riding on the path then moving onto the road without looking , no lights.

In Spain, if you cycle through a red light, the police confiscate your bike.
