I cycled in London for 2 years during my time at University. Appalled at how other cyclists behaved. Worst offence was when one blasted through a red light, almost hitting a women pushing a pram. He had the nerve to yell at her for this! Something needs to be done.

You think that’s bad? Try walking through the Greenwich or Woolwich foot tunnels under the Thames sometime. Despite the fact that they are tunnels, and were built for people to walk through, cyclists and scooter riders ride through them at speed. There’s nowhere to go if you find someone bearing down on you, and they get so self righteous if you dare to tell them to get off their bike or scooter. Greenwich Council do nothing about it, and they don’t care if someone is hurt or killed by these selfish morons.

pedestrians used to have priority on a zebra crossing and traffic had to give way to them - in the 1980s when everyone knew the rule, but now the country is full of third worlders who dont know the rule.

God forbid that a cyclist should ever have to slow down and yield to pedestrians, or otherwise obey stop signs, traffic lights or such. How dare anyone question their inherent right of way in every situation. They are the chosen ones. Dosent everyone know that?

Everyone of those cyclists was riding too fast, your speed should be such that you can stop when the unexpected happens. The pedestrian should have looked and not wandered all over the place, but the cycles should be much slower.

Cyclists don’t like to have to slow down or stop. It’s always a race for them.

As of late 2024 these ridiculous set ups show that most cyclists do not slow down and certainly do not respect the zebra crossing rules. A child has already been hit by an E bike and was lucky to escape serious injury.

Police need to hand out tickets with fines in that location for a month so that everyone knows to smarten up.

Just shows if enough people ignore the law the law becomes meaningless.

I cycle at least 100 miles a week round London,and it boils my piss when I see twats of all ages on bikes doing this.

Thought I certainly disagree with the bike riders not giving way, at the same time many pedestrians were not looking before crossing, or giving any indication they wanted to cross, simply barging across, or were crossing diagonally on the crosswalk walking for 5 seconds on the bike lane and not in the crosswalk… everyone needs to play a part in road safety, and here basically no one was doing so

These stupid bike lanes are dangerous to say the least, Don't these grown up kids on their toys have any respect for the road traffic laws that apply to them at all, simple answer NO red lights, pelican crossings, give ways, mean absolutely F all to them ,and if you're a motorist in any vehicle don't stop in their little smug box at traffic lights especially if it's got a camera on it, they just love laying down the law ,I drive a bus and they expect me to stop on a sixpence which I could but for passengers safety and comfort I can't and then you get a lecture off mr bike complaining that I'm in their SPECIAL PLACE . and I quote that to them as they're trying not to put their feet on the ground at traffic lights wobbling around like maniacs in their special place that if they can be bothered to stop at traffic lights, simple solution have some sort of registration put on the bike and make sure they obey the traffic laws like motorists have to, fine them, ban them impound them ,simple solution.
