It's awesome to hear you speaking on cultivating that independent flow! This has been a big (and somewhat intimidating) object of my own recent reflections after noticing how very, very challenging it's become to either squeeze in some basic learning before &/or regroup and recenter after returning home from elective classes. It's something I've noticed over the past year, and for certain in this one- but leaving for classes cuts the 'squaring down for lessons at home' vibe way down and the solution I've been eyeing up for this is creating independent work plans. Being in 6th and 5th grade, this feels about right anyway.... and I am beginning to really like the idea of two days one-on-one intensives balanced out with two days of a more independent flow to be completed on their own trajectory. Executing this has been taking me some time- I'm hoping to strike a confident note with the set up before extending it to them AND: children really do seem to be capable of so much more than we give them credit for 😅🥰 I'm inspired by your efforts, and hope you continue to see success!
Oh and also thank you for the very timely math fact advocacy. These were always something I didn't reckon we'd fuss with, but now that we're getting deeper into multiplication and division: I'm thinking twice. I, also, wish I would have listened to the little voice telling me to start this up earlier on.
Safe travels and thanks for being here ✨️💛

@@PhilomathicMama Thank you for the kind words! You are correct our children really can accomplish so much when given the reigns.
Yes those pesky math facts are so valuable. Research shows that including these facts as a time trail also helps in mastery, which I'm also seeing the benefits of.
      Have a lovely holiday!

I love these. We actually paused dimensions for the same reason.

Thank you for watching. We are definitely going at a much slower pace with Dimensions this year.
