great radio i have two of them

I've got one. Passed down from my Dad. It's like new. It stays stored but it's ready to rock and roll.

The early Taiwan made is the best! One with the white power socket matched with white plug power cord. Had 2 of those. Just follow cobra’s technical bulletin regarding circuit update, like the diode on the voltage regulator, have it recapped, removed the corrosive glue and aligned if possible then it will serve you for another 30years ++😎

Gamma ray makes some awesome plates for sure. I got a white background with blue electric streaks on my ranger RG-99

Can you stile get 3made amp and will it operate on 12 VDC where to buy.

Would you be interested in getting a Cobra 148GTL for me and completely referbish it inside and out. New basel, faceplate, and knobs etc. There is know big hurry but some time this summer.

the 148 GTL is considered one of the best made. I Have a few radios but want one of these. and would never own a cobra 129 as it has no sideband.

I love the videos man wish you could be a little bit more detailed on some of the channels you’re putting in the 959 but now other than that I do appreciate the knowledge you’re putting out there so we all can learn it as well thank you

Have u looked at the bias at the radio ...final and driver section ... I think u need to have a look at the driver bias and final make sure there were they supposed to be also what voltage are u running at at a load

ive got a philly uniden grant xl (almost identical to a 148) and a uniden pc76xl ..i liv3 the phillipeans models.

If you look at the actual numbers the USA is doing far better than pretty much every country post covid. Inflation is at around 3% wage growth is higher than that. employment is at near record lows, 175,000 jobs added last quarter. consumer spending is strong. So perhaps you should stop listening to the media

Love the 25s. Have a great weekend. Them 10v caps 1-4.7mfd seam to go first. I just played that game on a radio I’m working on today. I always re-solder the ch selector board ribbon and the LED itself. But when I do that I don’t jump off the solder pad as fast as I usually do. I heat them up a bit, seams to work 9 outs 10 times.

Great radios. I love those things. If you take some acetone (nail polish remover) on a Q-tip and remove the Locktite from the pivot screw on the meter you can loosen the screw and the stuck meter will work fine. I still got the Uniden AX144 my parents bought me back in the 80s. The ANL/NB has stopped working and a seized RF meter. The receive and transmit sound quality on the AX144 was excellent. It's still my favourite radio for quality
