    Very good info 👍 . You’re right, there’s only a few channels above 40 where the sidebanders hang out , and in AM , 26.915 is a nice hotspot I like to fish for skip on
    Next fix ,, if you could figure out a mod to make these radios quit drifting , you’d get the Nobel Prize in the CB world . I’d love to have one , if they were stable . Very very frustrating . Great radios , love them for AM , but man , that drift is a pain for everyone . An issue I’m very disappointed in Galaxy for never fixing . If Anytone and Stryker figured it out , why won’t Galaxy ?
    Too cheap to is what I figure . What’s your thoughts ? I’m in no way a radio tech so I can’t say much beyond griping about it

      Yeah, that’s always been an issue on all these radios. I know there’s a few ways to make it better, but definitely no way to make them anywhere near as stable as the modern anytones and strykers. Definitely just a lack of caring on their part for not keeping up with the times and sticking with the old technology. That’s why I usually unlock the clarifier, which is something I typically don’t do on a good SSB radio.

      Yeah just unlock clarifier like mine. Makes it useable on SSB no complaints keeps the clarifier from seizing up 😅

      I have not has any frequency drift on my radio.
      Just these dang bad solder joints cold solder what ever ...
      Seems like every other week or so .
      I cant run it as a mobile.
      I use it as a base and dont even bother putting screws back in the case.

    Why didn't you just use the cable you unplugged from the board to wire into the switch?

    • @udx-294tn5
      @udx-294tn5  5 місяців тому +2

      The wires on the plug were tied to the wrong pins on the switch to achieve the channels I wanted.

    So it won't do side band without this mod or swirches I'm looking to but one but it has the switches he said was for 10 m but thr chart was 26-27mhz only

      @@KE8ODY-WV-Ares-Ham-Dad-3O4 this mod is just for adding additional frequencies… it is a SSB radio either way. To get it on 10 meters would require a different mod. This radio will go up to 27.975 with the full 2 switch mod.
