I just realized, what model Vive headset did you use? Because the drivers in the Mac version of SteamVR were made for the ones back in 2017 and never got updated

Do y’all know about the battery life on the quest 2 controller? It lasts like 3 months
I’m short you’re having that experience. I’ve had mine since before I made the video, so 2 years now, and they still last longer than my playtime. The longest I play is 3 hours. It’s good info to have and I appreciate it.

For sure. I love them. I think the problem people have with them, besides price, is tracking issues when playing in front of a windows during the day. Once the drapes or blinds are closed, and lights are on in the room, they’re fine. Have you tried them?
bro this controllers are over hyped i bought them and the tracking messes up more then the quest 2 controllers 💀
I found I can’t use them near a window with a lot of sunlight. I always turn on an overhead light and close any shades. They definitely don’t start tracking as soon as the Quest 2/3 controllers.

Just got done playing my quest 2. VR is the best way to play games and this is coming from a huge pc and console fan.

I have the quest pro controllers on quest 2 lets talk about it. I’ve been using them for over a year and I really like them. For casual use there is no issues. The only time I saw issues is with games where you move your hands fast like beat saber. Surprisingly in gorilla tag there was like one time I had an issue which fixed it self I instantly. The issue I’m talking about it when for example playing beat saber, swing your sabers really fast on expert+ the controller will start tracking ahead of itself. Like 2-4 inches away from where they actually are. But if you pause and wait a second or sometimes even changing how you swing can easily fix it
I had one viewer tell me something similar - that the Pro controllers didn’t track as fast as he needed for Beat Saber. And it sounds like Meta may have used a predictive algorithm on the controllers to anticipate where you’re moving. Either way, good information!

Aww man, I just don’t care for the BoboVR. It’s comfortable, but ugly, which only matters because I would have to wear it in a video.

True! I’m using the Meta Ray Bans and found they’re less about protecting your eyes and listening to music, and more about the convenience of an AI that can see around you (at your command). AI is definitely a part of our AR future in that regard. Something I didn’t realize until I had the Meta glasses. Are your points regarding AI and VR are so true! I really cannot wait to see what’s in store for us all! And thanks for your nice comment on the video!
I dream of the day when more people will give VR a chance, or more than one chance! There are ways to make the headset more comfortable. And there are so many physical and mental benefits to VR. I have cried actual tears from amazement and beautiful experiences more than once in VR. I have met so many incredible people from around the world and found the love of my life through VR! 🥰 It is not just a video game. It is so much more. VR is NOT dead.

3 years later and this video is still very helpful. I was having fun in VR chat but I had to leave because my head was hurting but now I can stay on longer because it’s not hurting as much as it used to

Would it work with a PSVR2 headset with the steam adapter they just commercialized?
I don’t think so, at least not natively, but maybe in Windows for ARM running in Parallels. If you get one you’ll have to let me know how it goes!

yeah i was a bit suprised when after i bought my 400 dollar controllers just for my headset to not connect ever again and just have 400 dollar paperweight in which i cant even get a refund because i threw away the box
Are they still not working? There was a while during one of the firmware updates that people couldn’t pair the Pro controllers. If you haven’t tried since then, give it a shot. If they’re still not pairing, let me know and I’ll see if I can help.

@@yoyexists Gotcha. I had this issue with a Quest 2 I received on RMA from Meta. If I recall I had to factory reset the Quest, then I THINK I connected it to the PC where the Rift software saw it an updated it OR I was just able to register it with the Meta app. After this the controllers I had from the prior headset connected, so it was definitely a headset issue, and not the controllers. Either way, it's a bad place to be in.

Fun fact: the the quest pro controllers are the same controllers used in the Oculus quest 3
I wish! The Quest Pro controllers have three cameras on them and track 360 degrees, where the Quest 3 controllers basically have the same capabilities and tech as the Quest 2 controllers with the rings.

With the Pro controllers you cannot. But you can with the Quest 2/3 controllers as long as you have an infrared emitter in the room. You can natively with the Vive and Index.

Gotcha. Go to the Meta Horizons app (it’s the new name for the Meta app). Choose your profile image at the bottom center of the app, choose the options menu at the top-right (three lines), choose Devices, choose your headset, tap Headset Settings, and the instructions should follow the video from here, although you should be good to just follow the on screen interface at this point. Good luck!

the quest pro controllers are some of the worst ive ever used :( they constantly lose tracking and disconnect, makes games like beatsaber nearly impossible. i have a quest pro headset too and i would rather use the standard quest 3 controllers.
I’ve not had that experience, but perhaps there’s something else going on there. My only gripe is the initial time it takes to track after turning on the Quest, but really it’s a matter of seconds. I found they work best in an overhead artificial light. I’m sorry you’re having a bad time with them.

Make sure the back of the strap goes below the bump in the back of your head. Once there, you should be able to loosen it a bit. If this doesn’t work, then consider a hard strap, like the BOBOVR.
This might be a dumb question but do the pro controllers work with the Quest 3. Thats one of the upgrades I want to make but I don't want to spend a little over $300 to find out they're not compatible and I haven't seen anyone talk about it

How about VMWARE Fusion Pro which DOES support DirectX11? I have an MBP Pro M3 MAX which is a beast, and running Fusion Pro does support DirectX 11....
I was able to get DirectX to run, but it seemed to fall short with the video emulation. That said, so much time has passed that it may have all been solved on Microsoft’s end. Thoughts?
@@KingofNerds NONE! 😆 i know that the VM under fusion runs steam extremely well, i imagine it would run steamvr for windows fine, but i don't have a VR headset to hand to test if it is recognised.

What I wanted out of the Quest Pro I could get from the Quest 2, so I paired the Quest Pro controllers with the Quest 2 and found something greater than the individual parts, so I made a video. If anything that's what videos should be about - something that's inspired someone.
