Pedagogy matters and, for me, you are one the best pickleball teachers on UA-cam. I love the way you break down skill and goal development with the view of teaching us what to look for (e.g. adaptive or situational skills). I am always looking for more content on PB strategy and game analysis. Thanks so very much.

I communicate with my partner when I hit my third. I yell "Short" or "High," etc if it is a bad one and "Go" if it is a good one. That allows them to keep an eye on the opponent while we maintain unit cohesion.

Yes I find when I play with lower levels at the rec courts it is difficult to play “down” I end up making many more unforced errors and frustration sets in a lot of the tome

I use this on the serve for more power, but find less consistency than a locked wrist position as the wrist seems to be in play more. Therefore, some pros and cons arise when using wrist on shots, but with practice, this is a better serve style. John, does that sound about right?

It starts with rotation of the body and a loose wrist. Just search UA-cam for 'wrist lag' either tennis or pickleball and you'll see tons of videos.

You need to be able to anticipate where the ball is going to end up once it is hit in your direction and make sure that you make contact with the ball in front of your right knee or slightly to the outside if your right handed.

Awesome video! I've only been playing pickleball for a week but played tennis most of my life. Something I noticed I needed to readjust is how the pickleball ball moves. Since it's a slower, less bouncy ball, I find myself with the instinct that the ball would bounce like a tennis ball and I would have to end up reaching for the ball or sometimes completely missing the ball and wacking the air. I adjusted by staying more planted to the ground by bending lower with my knees and moving forward towards the ball instead of letting it come to me.

I'm a decades-long baseball player and I've been playing PB for about a 5-6 months now. I hit a ball harder and better than that. It split the middle of the court not a whisker above the net and must have been travelling a good 70mph. No need to mention, but the shape was so perfect that it landed a foot or two before the base line. Unhittable. I guess what I'm trying to say, is that if you want to improve your drive, try swinging a 25-30oz bat 5-30 times a day and you'll probably increase your drive by 5-10 mph in a week depending on were you start and how far you take it. Throwing a baseball or softball will also help with your overhead smash.
