I’m so confused by your reaction, bro. You seem like you have studied or at least played music, and it seems like you enjoy the high level of musicality throughout the episode. I get that musicals aren’t your thing but you mentioned that your wife might love it. Could it be that you think of musicals as non-masculine and that’s the source of your bias against it? Star Trek has always had silly musicals moments, this is just the first instance of it going all-in on it and they did it spectacularly.

Even I was convinced that the amnesiac Eddie was someone else since it was hard to believe that he suddenly came back from the dead after almost an entire series of him being dead. I honestly liked Eddie better when he was dead since his resurrection and corruption by the Negative Speed Force tainted his legacy as the friend Team Flash knew he used to be

You absolutely should go and watch Lower Decks. Lower Decks and Strange New Worlds are some of the best Trek that's ever been made.

Aw, the Vulcan politics stuff at the end of Enterprise is some of my favorite stuff. If you haven't gotten into Lower Decks yet, I'd say it's two separate good shows. It's a good Star Trek show and it's also a really great insider's meta commentary on all Star Trek. It may get into algorithm zeitgeist since season 5's coming out in a couple months.

This was actually my first SNW episode ever. I loved it, though. Seriously. When Jack Quaid improvised the Riker maneuver Wil Wheaton called it "a very big swing" on The Ready Room and Frakes said, "The whole episode is a big swing!"

For a long time TNG and VOY were my favorite Star Trek shows, but Lower Decks is in there now. It brings a sense of levity and adds new perspective to Star Trek.

The way they act is exactly the same.

The opening looks better because the Enterprise colour looks more like it did in TOS. The slug and the koala are both from Lower Decks.

I kinda wish this particular one was on Lower Decks (like part of their season) but on the Strange New Worlds you get a different intro and end bits but the middle chunk (the majority) is the same between the two so you get a little extra depending on which series it is also fun fact: The voice actor who plays Commander Ransom (he compliments Una on the poster near the end) in Lower Decks is the real life husband of the actress who plays Una
