☃️ Wow ur MFE is STUNNING!! 😍 Yarn ban, ur funny! That's like me telling myself I'm not allowed to buy any more patterns. Whenever I put myself on a pattern ban, I find all these amazing charts and the prices r too good to ignore, so I end up relenting everytime...apparently I have no willpower 😂 I don't knit, but I often browse thru the yarns at michaels and joann just cause they r all so pretty and it gets me thinking cuz I want em all and I'm like no, no, I don't need another hobby...I'd be in real trouble then 😜 Your sweater is looking fabulous and will look so good on u when it's complete! I inherited responsibility for knitting those exact same stockings for my family as well! My dad initially commissioned one from someone else and she knit it in nice wool. He had a fit that it wasn't as nice as my great aunt's yarn, which was red heart super saver, and now I'm not allowed to knit them in anything else 😂

Congrats on getting your goal stitching done! It's so satisfying to follow you on your journey and see you succeed. Your pieces are so beautiful. It's so fun that you have some of your Grandma's things. It's too bad you can't ask her still. I totally get that. What you're looking for on the stocking is duplicate stitch. It works really well if you would have super long floats doing color work. Good luck coming up with a pattern for them!

If you are looking for specific R&R fabric, you can always give Dyeing to Stitch in VA Beach a call. The owner of that shop is also the owner of R&R Reproductions. They will ship! Obviously, some dye lots will change or be discontinued, but they have always been super helpful to me in finding a good substitution 😊

I feel the wonderful position you’re in to translate your Grandmother’s stocking for future generations. My Dad composed his music on an old DOS computer program. As a musician , I was the only one in the family that could transcribe them and covert them to modern digital format. I also transferred his live performances on reel to reel to digital form. I sent out CDs for family to enjoy. A very satisfying labor of love ❤️
