Anyone looking for a new or newer built home in Irvine, especially in the newer neighborhoods, you better be prepared to pay north of $2.0MM for an average size home. Considering you will be assessed property taxes at the market value of the home along with two HOAs, even if you have $1.0MM to put as down payment, your monthly bill for all of the above will still be a boat load ! ! ! So a professional couple pulling in $400K/yr probably can swing this neighborhood. Traffic has beome a nightmare and people are driving like there is no tomorrow. With all the foreigners coming here and not know the traffic laws, you better have eyes on the back of your head! I spoke with an officer from the Irvine PD about the traffic and he said there isn't much they can do unless there is an incident. So until someone smashes into your vehicle, don't look for help from the Irvine PD ! ! ! Lastly, this is a master planned community and Irivne being a DEI community, they have painted huge portions of the roadway for bicycles ! ! ! This encroaches on roadways for normal traffic! I never ever see any bicycles on these marked off portion fo the roads but that's Irvine putting taxpayers' money to waste!

RSm has been the safest city in the states for a long time. Perhaps longer than when I moved here 12 years ago. I was surprised it was rated that high. We’ve had some drastic incidents over the years but mostly it has been a quiet town. I only wish leasing here wasn’t so high - we keep losing businesses because they can’t keep up with the rent.

Traffic is unreal there. I don't understand how so many people can be living there with the cost of living being what it is. Old money? Crony capitalism? Something like that.

I lived in Irvine for 20 years. I moved to Riverside County in 2022 because I was able to buy a brand new and larger home for a lower price. The presenters in the video failed to mention the reason for the high housing costs, lack of night life and competitiveness in the schools is due to the high asian population. They place a high value on education. Naturally what follows is getting home early to study rather than going out at night. I’m asian, by the way. When I was selling my home in Irvine I got 50 offers in 2 days. The highest bidders were asian. They desperately wanted to send their kids to an Irvine school.

Costa Mesa is close enough for me to visit Newport Beach and Huntington Beach.

San Juan Capistrano is as close as you can get to the beach with a working-class income. Your best bet is to live further inland for less money so you can actually spend more when at the beach.

I cant stress how people move here from whereever they come from then bitch about where they came from is better. So why did you move here in the first place. there is a certain way of lifehere, get into it or move. we loved rhe way it is here! it wasn't until the toll road was put in that we literally got all these weird transplants renaming and trying to change the environment into some weird place. we loved the tempo, and feel of south county. leave it alone!!!!!

I love this series. As a Mission. I who Homeowner I had to check this one out and add my two cents. What I like about my city is that our homes are older so we don’t have to pay the pesky Mel-Roos of newer home developments. A con would be, especially for smaller homes like mine South County HOA’s are pricy. The smaller the home the pricer because of shared walls. I own a condo and most of the condo HOA’s in MV run from $450-$1000 a month. Mine is $600 a month. My condo was build in the 1970’s so our complex in North MV needs repairs m. We all have to share in the costs of repiping, re-roofing, and street repairs. They also want to make sure nobody builds AED’s in garages like they do in North OC. South OC does not want the over crowding issues of North OC communities and policies the garages and parking strictly. Another Pro would be safety and cleanliness of the community. Also the lake itself and the city throw a lot of free events. Like concerts, movies at both the park and lake, farmers markets, night markets. Lots of fun family activities. Pretty much every neighborhood has access to a pool too. My house is connected to the Aliso Creek Trail which can take you to Cooks corner in one direction or to Salt Creek beach in the other direction. The Kaleidoscope theater has luxury movie viewing seats 💺 and the Mission Viejo mall is a small escape with air conditioning when places like the Spectrum are too crowded and chaotic. But the Spectrum is very close and a Hub. I’d finish with saying the starter condos because they are a little older are a bit more affordable here than the newer parts of Orange County.

Lived in RSM for 18 years, it really is the perfect city. I live in Santa Ana now and it's not bad but the "neighbors" can be a bit off-putting.

Before people start saying “omg what happened to Irvine?” Irvine is still the safest city with a population over 250,000.

I went to UCI and my roommates and I left the door unlocked at the house we were renting just in case one of our friends wanted to come in/hang out between classes/get something/etc. We did that for 3 years. Never once had an issue with theft/burglary.

I had a Idf spook approach me in the oc gun fair in 2010 haven't been by there in awhile, but I hear it's still nice.

Pro of living in Irvine. It’s always quiet at night. Con the Cops 👮🏻‍♂️ are A-holes!! And the neighbors bitch about loud family parties 🎊

These two better rethink the title of their next video. I find it very hard to believe everyone hates living in SC. It is a very nice community with lovely mom and pop shops and Great restaurants. Something society needs to reach out to. They support the local economy. And who cares about shopping malls. They are dying a slow death everywhere.
