I don’t think you understand what forgiveness is. Mankind rebelled against God and due to that their punishment would be hell. Instead Jesus (who is God) forgives us and dies on the cross taking the punishment of our sins by going to hell for us, as long as we repent of our sins and trust in him. When Jesus was dying on the cross he said forgive them father. God paid our fine like someone would pay a parking ticket.
