Hi, so the pain that you feel when the Mongols threw the manuscripts in the Tigris is similar to the pain we Indians feel about the burning of the books by Bakhtiyar... something to ponder😢
Correction : Muslims didn't contribute that much to the basic Philosophy and Sciences That credit goes to the the ancient Greeks , Persians , Indians and Egyptians In contrary Muslims burned lot of ancient Universities 🌚
I am catholic and think Muhammed is burning in hell, however muslim scientists, chemists, mathematicians, etc. are without a shadow of a doubt some of the smartest men who helped catapult our ways of understanding the natural world and the universe into new territory.
When Muslims were ruling India or mugal empire it was destroyed by hindu maratha in the end then Britain empire comes to rule India I am proud of our maratha who did this JAI SHIVAJI MAHARAJ 🙏🏻🙏🏻
Great video! As a Christian, it also bugs me when people claim religion holds science back. To my limited understanding, our very scientific method was first loosely developed by the pagan Aristotle, refined by Muslims like Ibn Sina and finalised by the Catholics like Roger Bacon.
Well that also ignores the persecution of philosophers that went against religious frameworks of the state. It’s impossible to really have a conversation about the relationship between religion and science that isn’t a whole essay. Because it’s incredibly complex. Ie What defines religion? Does a spiritual framework that isn’t theistic count as a religion? What is the social evolutionary benefit to a belief in a God? Are we looking at this from an individual level or group/ social level etc etc But I agree that people who believe religion itself is only a negative are super ignorant.
@@kkandola9072 you're right, scientists and religious leaders have not always got along perfectly. But I'd argue that it's not the nature of religion itself (which as you point out is complicated) which fuels this. Galileo, often seen as an example of the stifling effect religion has on science, was actually sponsored by the Catholic church. The reason he fell out with them was a theological disagreement mixed with an insult to the pope, not geocentric/heliocentric one.
Kind of a political question but I was wondering how important the Sharifs of Mecca were/are. I know that after the Ottoman Empire the Hashemites were pretty powerful, but were conquered by Saudi Arabia and were overthrown in Syria and Iraq. I kinda wonder how history would have turned out if they united the Middle East. Also I thought I would mention that in my limited knowledge of Islamic history, I originally thought Shia Islam made a good case that they were more right about Ali, but from watching this channel I think how both you explained things I now think Sunni Islam makes more sense.

Muslims killed millions of Hindus and burned our temples , books and universities
As a Christian, it’s great to be able to watch this and gain a Muslim perspective.
Thank you for the kind comment
