Practical steps for individuals and communities to resist exploitation, challenge the status quo, and build alternatives that prioritize collective well-being and resilience are easier than we all realize. In this video, we explore the backlash against disco music in the late 1970s and its deeper societal implications. Events like Disco Demolition Night symbolized a violent rejection of disco, which was rooted in Black, Latino, and LGBTQ communities. This backlash parallels the disdain for the arts seen in the rise of fascism, where authoritarian regimes suppressed diverse and avant-garde express...

Hello comrades - I usually come to you all with a 10 page essay, written with thoughts planned well in advance, but I wanted to speak more freely so I could upload a new video in between the time that I am scriptwriting. I wanted to take this time to be timely and talk about Cowboy Carter, and how this album took me down a memory lane of experiencing gatekeeping and racial and gender bias in ha...
How Mutual Aid Works (and Why You Should Care)

Hey everyone, it's been a while since we last talked. I've been dealing with some health issues related to my Ehlers Danlos Syndrome (EDS). If you're unfamiliar, EDS is notoriously difficult to get diagnosed and treated due to lack of research and understanding in the medical community. Recently, I came across a powerful video by @Ember_Green titled "EDS & Why We Misunderstand Disability" which...

Oh please!! Do you know anything about this country? I suggest you study the freedom act of America..
"I disagree with someone, so i will threaten them and insult their intelligence!"
@lucretia_macevil thanks for proving my point even more.. you go straight to violence in all ways ..
The race card is so fucking played out. Whites can be racist, so can blacks so can all races.. if you live in America then you need to shut the f up!!
coming back to this during election year. wow

Giving a boost because this is very helpful.
I got an Ad about donating money to trump on this video 🫤
we are a week away from the election, I've been getting trump ads every video because I live in PA, its cursed
This was GOOD. Also, Paul Mason is HOT. 🔥🔥🔥
Midroll ad on this video was a hastily filmed campaign ad of a sloppy Donald Trump begging for donations. Gross.
they have spent so much money to beg for more money
Hey kinfolk. Thanks for the content you put out. I done binged all of them this past week. You're inspiring me to get back into advocacy again. Thanks again, comrade.
im glad to hear this!
This is the most important video on the internet today. Thank you!
Boost boost for the algorithm!
i am currently organizing in various ways, and i’m realizing that mutual aid is one of the most important things any of us can be doing right now. america does not have strong community, and the best way to build united coalitions is through the very basic needs of people. when the black panthers were still active, they had entire neighborhoods that would fight for them because of their survival programs. this comes with militancy, because when mutual aid gets effective enough, the state will come armed and ready to take it down. i feel like american orgs currently do not do this. that’s why i think everyone should start now because fascism is happening right now as you breathe, and fascism won’t wait for you. it will come for you, and we all have to be prepared in some way. also, unionizing workers is the most important way to get actual revolution on it’s feet, but that will be talked about and organized away from phones lol
Love the fit
I’m here bc FD signifier rants channel shouted u out. Looking forward to enjoying the content!!❤❤
@@trillpretty1 thanks for coming here 🫂
Your born naked and the rest is drag has to be one of the best way to describe gender ive heard in a while.
What’s the song at the beginning? I recognise it but it’s bugging me I can’t put my finger on it!

29:20 joke's on you. She didn't apologize for anything, doubled down on racism, and we're still voting blue no matter who.
I didn’t make this to convince you to change your mind lmao.
@lucretia_macevil I'm not voting for her. I was just being sarcastic mentioning how all your predictions came true and Democrats still haven't changed their tune. Great video. Very insightful and a wonderful analysis of the US political system. Thank you.
Dude, as a white Scottish guy I can absolutely confirm you are nailing it here. I'm new to your channel, so please forgive me if you've addressed these things already, but please read Naomi Klein (in paticular No Logo), as you're American I assume you know Angela Davis but Are Prisons Obsolete? is great too. Again, sorry If I'm saying obvious stuff you already know, but something you may not have heard of is 'Ishmael" by Daniel Quinn. It's fiction that's a bit broader than any specific oppression, but I really loved it and maybe you could find something valuable in it. For whatever it's worth, I think you're awesome and clever etc, all fortune and goodness to you, sister
This was both educational and cathartic for me. I had learned about the origins of house music in Chicago on my own. However, I had no idea about techno music's start with black men in Detroit! I love both of these genres. And, as a black American, I too has assumed these genres were created by and for white people. Setting the record straight really is crucial to queer black people finding themselves and their place in the world. Thank You for your service Lucretia McEvil. Sincerely, A queer black man named ENZO in San Francisco.

Learning unsung history like this makes me proud to be a queer black man in the US. We really do come from a lineage of greatness in spite of our oppression.
@@enzomthethwa5861 don’t let them ever tell you different either, sibling 🫂💖
Wow. I never looked at house music as a Renaissance of disco before. This video essay also gives the impression that Chicago--not New York--was the center of cultural change in the mid 20th century.
@@enzomthethwa5861 it was both, the DJ’s in Chicago came from New York originally and brought dance music there. We are a diaspora always in tandem
Good stuff. I’ll say I find it very weird when people talk about voting as if it’s some sacred act of personal expression, and not just the bare minimum concession the ruling class could get away with giving us. I have no shame about voting strategically whenever necessary, even if I hate both options, because I don’t see voting a meaningful avenue for real political expression anyway. I’ll do it for what (usually little) impact it does have, but as said in the video, the real work of changing the system happens on the street, year-round. That’s the takeaway so many people still need to internalize.
As a queer black anarchist, it means the world to me to know I'm not alone. What a joy it is to watch other queer black anarchists interact in community!
