you keep saying you passively gathered all these materials when you didn't. the numbers is interesting and it's a fun lil project but you keep contradicting yourself several times in the video

The way I personally take this is something I had an idea of, but wasn't entirely sure of and didn't really want to commit the time to it. Spiritbonding is actually pretty underrated when it comes to crafting calculations, mainly because you can't guarantee what you get. With scrips it's easily calculable and much easier to visualise what you need. However that then leads us to searching for the "cheapest & fastest" way to make collectables, which tends towards the mob drops like Tisane and Carne Asada. I wouldn't die on a hill saying "it's more optimal to make high craft required collectables", but it's likely closer than expected. So I think it's better to say: if you have the time, energy, or retainers that can gather passive items, find a way to use those passive items. Whether they be mob drops from battle retainers, or gathered resources, getting them out consistently to keep your pool of resources high, is good. The thing you don't want to do, and I think so many casual crafters do, is see the mountain of numbers, get overwhelmed at the time it'll take to get everything, and just end up buying things to make it quick. (It's me I do this all the time I regret it every time I buy anything off the MB).

As a former OSRS player for many years (maxed main, super progressed iron etc.) this type of stuff is just the best. I have a ton of crystals, i might try this on a smaller scale. Great video!

Something to note. If you have the premium version of the ff14 companion app. You can send out and claim retainer gathering ventures from the app with a currency that regenerates twice per day. So that two extra gathering you can do while you're at work or away from Your pc

Lose all the things you could have gotten from quick ventures. All it would have taken was getting jet black dye once from a coffer to make the same profit. Should definitely do the same experiment with doing quick ventures. Adding up all the dyes, furniture items, gear turned into GC seals, dye, glamour etc.

I just went serverhopping buying hundreds of materia cheap to pentameld my gear in 7.1. And even if I may have went overboard I hope to sell the remaining at a fat profit when the prices skyrocket

These sort of things are what I call Stupid Little Goals. Things like maxing ventures, etc, that have minor actual, useful, effect on gameplay and aren't exactly efficient. I love them! They're one of the main reasons I keep playing during content lulls. Thank you for doing this vid, it's great!

also you can use the thundersilk to make orange scrips so its not all a waste

im pretty sure its because our rings are lvl 98, but im not at my computer to check atm. i feel like the right side might have non lvl 100 gear

Welp time to make money off selling to crafters again since it’s a flood of them now.

Just to make sure, im getting conflicted information. Is the new scrip item for orange scrips or purple? I stopped making orange cause someone else sad they're purple so now im not sure.

I'm curious to see how much profit I make on this patch. I sell Crafting Materia as a general day to day income, but knowing the patch was coming I've just been holding mine for a few weeks, and I'm currently sitting on 1200 Command XI and 300 Competence XI. My thinking is just.. I already sell these every day anyways, so just holding them back to try and get as much out of the spike as possible, and whatever doesn't sell, I'll just continue to sell as normal, or hold them back/transfer them off server if the price drops too low, I don't see much of a potential to lose anything here.

Just throwing this out there to crafters/gatherers, upgrading from current bis is totally optional. I am personally going to wait to upgrade into the final set of the xpac, but the option is there if you need it. I might recommend the new gear to someone who is NOT in current bis. ❤

Two minor notes, though these are all predictions anyway: I don't recall any new scrip item being added in 6.1, are you saying there will be a new one in 7.1 because Earthbreak Aethersand was added in 6.3? Or is there another material I'm missing? Aglaia's ilvl requirement (565) was not equal to the combat crafted at the time (580), so I highly doubt the new alliance raid would have as high of an ilvl requirement as 710. 695 or 700 (acquirable purely from uncapped tomes) would be more likely.

fyi it was already confirmed in the 7.1 announcement at the tokyo game show that the pelupelu will be the combat allied society! enjoy the preps!

Good to hear from ya again, been looking back through your previous videos to review what to expect in the X.1-2 patches, farming tech, etc. Definitely seconding the Deliveries recommendation, they're usually the first bit of content I do on reset week and it's a good way to get extra scrips.

So in the end you said nothing because those are all things people do anyway or not at all anyway. It has nothing to do with downtime. Its just a fact that especially now in the beginning of an expansion there is nothing to do when done with the hard content.

I've been sending all my retainers out for those minions for about a month now. Only one so far (Quetzal) but I keep holding on hope! I'd love to see more analysis of retainers, though. Especially on best/cheapest ways to gear them to maximize Perception for bringing back the most items possible at once. I've tried to plan but each time I look at it, the materia cost was way too high to risk it.

I’ve been playing other games during this downtime. Not having much left to do other than weekly savage reclears lets me catch up on my backlog 😅
