WC 2002. Ji Sung Park goal. Korea vs Portugal.
Ji Sung Park's goal vs Portugal in WC 2002. Park traps a lobbed ball from Lee Young Pyo on his chest, controls it with the right foot, and strikes it with the left foot to beat the keeper at his near post.
WC 2002. Korean disallowed goal. Korea vs Portugal.

It's a little known fact that Korea had a goal disallowed vs Portugal in the WC 2002. If you see the replay, a Korean player fouled the Portuguese keeper, so it was the correct call. However, if you were a referee trying to let Korea win, would you disallow this goal?
WC 2002. Beto gets sent off for 2nd yellow. Korea vs Portugal.

Apart from Joao Pinto's tackle from behind on Ji Sung Park, how does Portugal get left with 9 men? Watch this video to find out FYI, Korea also got 4 yellow cards during this game.
WC 2002. Joao Pinto red card for tackle on Park. Korea vs Portugal.

Conspiracy theorists never let the facts get in the way of a good story. Compilations showing only Korean foul play in the 2002 World Cup love to show the ref holding up the red card, but they never show the actual tackle that resulted in the red card. So here it is for you to see. Were Portugal really robbed?
Vieri elbows Kim Tae Young in the face, World Cup 2002 Italy vs Korea
In my video "Italians hacking down Koreans in WC 2002", a user from Chile commented that this foul just looked like the ball hit the back of Kim Tae Young's head. So here is a better view of what actually happened.
Tackle vs Totti in WC 2002 was a fair tackle.
Many conspiracy theorists use the Totti incident in 2002 World Cup to 'prove' their point. They argue: 1) Tackle against Totti by Song should've been a penalty for Italy 2) Totti was taken out by Song's tackle, with no contact on the ball 3) Totti instead got a red card. But as you can see in this video, the truth is: 1) Song made contact with the ball in the tackle 2) Song also made contact wi...
Italians PLAYING DIRTY vs Korean players in 2002 WC. Italy vs Korea

This is a counter-argument to the 100s of videos (mostly posted by the Japanese) showing only the Korean fouls in this game. Both Korea and Italy played a physical game, of which I am selectively showing the Italian fouls here.
Christian Vieri miss vs Korea in World Cup 2002, WC Christian Vieri

Christian Vieri misses an open goal in the 89th minute of the game, seconds after Seol Ki Hyun equalised the game to make it 1-1.
Italians hacking down Koreans in 2002 WC. Why Italy shouldn't have reached WC 2002 quarterfinals.
PLEASE READ This video is NOT meant to represent the whole truth. It is only meant to illustrate the other side of the story, in response to hundreds of biased videos showing only Korean foul play. NOTE: Several people have commented that it just looks like the Korean defender was hit by the ball at 0:58. My apologies for the poor video quality there, and this is the link to a short clip that s...

I hope you’re joking... this was one of the biggest scams in football history. Compared to the fouls, even the Koreans entered hard and an Italian player ended up with his head tied

Ball is already out and that drop-toe techniqued style tackle is like killing tackle, he could have been sent off twice or thrice, rather Park Ji-sung scored decisive goal and went to the round of 16 while Portugal out.

Pinto committed a crime that is not a foul a criminal act. He should have been prosecuted and put in jail for that act.

You can see at least two other Portuguese players trying hard tackles on Korean players. Back then, the Portuguese league was full of nasty players who would do the most horrible tackles and fouls on each other.

I'm Korean. The first red card of this match was wise decision. It was horrible tackle that could have ended Park Ji Sung's career. But the second red card of this match was Lee Yung Pyo's diving. There never was contact between Lee and Beto. The red card given to Beto was wrong decision. Unfortunately few Korean recognise the Lee Yung Pyo's disgraceful diving.

The funniest thing about this clip is how there are like 4 straight slide tackles from Portuguese players and then the final leg breaker from Pinto... obvious red card btw

  • @petermanson3475
    @petermanson3475 Рік тому

LMFAO... not that you're not ridiculously biased enough to laugh this off, but, to answer the question, of "How do you explain Korea's disallowed goal in this game?" it was because one of the Korean defenders took a 20 yard running start before jumping straight into Victor Baia's gut, jarring the ball free from his hands, which was such an obvious foul (that for some reason, despite the distance covered prior to running into him and injuring him on the play, was somehow not cautioned). However, its cute how you left out highlights of the other tackles the Koreans commit during this game. The straight red card to Joao Pinto was deserved. However, there were 4 preceding tackles during the very same sequence which were just as harsh, but were not whistled at all, in an escalating frustration which led to the tackle. Had the ref called the match correctly, this wouldn't have happened. That was evident, when Beto was given his first yellow, following a play which Figo was slid into and taken down from behind, but no foul had been given at all. The most controversial play during this match was actually at 0-0 in the 2nd half, Portugal took a corner, and as the ball fell dangerously into the box, but, the referee blew the whistle, for an unknown reason. After a few seconds of players looking around wondering what was called, he motioned to his hand, as if one of the Portugal players played the ball with his hand. It was in no way even remotely the case. The Portuguese player lept in the air and flicked the ball on with his head, with no contact, and both arms down by his side, and it fell in front of a couple Portuguese players before play was halted. It was pretty clear the ref was blowing the whistle not for the handball, but to stop Portugal from having a dangerous opportunity in the box. However, this match is hardly the one where people say the fix was in. That was made quite evident in the Round of 16 match vs Italy when Totti was given a 2nd yellow for being fouled, despite several fouls not getting the cards they deserve, and an Italian goal wrongly disallowed for offsides... then the match vs Spain with the 2 wrongly disallowed goals, and similar lack of calls for hard fouls against the Spaniards.
