Hi there. 2006: Korea beat Togo 2-1, drew with France 1-1, lost 2-0 to Switzerland. 2010: Korea beat Greece 2-0, lost to Argentina 4-1, drew 2-2 with Nigeria. Advanced to round of 16, lost 2-1 to Uruguay in extra time. Korea are now in strong position to qualify for 2014 WC in Brazil. Thanks for asking.
After Italy lost the game, the Italians said that they would kill the Korean players if they returned to Italy. If the players had reported it, Italy would not have been able to compete internationally.
lmao people getting butt hurt over the past... Like why? Italy and Spain's doing better than Korea in soccer, so what's to complain? What's in the past is in the past, people make shitty mistakes, but we get over it. Shouldn't the fact that Italy and Spain are better than Korea in soccer itself be a good reason to let this go? Both teams played dirty, I saw controversial stuff on Korean side, but the goals themselves didn't seem to come from foul plays. And by the way, I love all the racist comments, it really shows the rager's personality since no one here seems to be able to think level-headed :)
>Thats why you got up until Argentina fucked your ass, just cause you guys were so bad and they were so good... AHAHAHAHAHAHAH that Italy team was amazing, we only lost because Zenga made a huge mistake on Caniggia and then we went to the penalties, where Argentina was better thanks to Goycoechea. But Argentina barely made it through their group, won against Brazil only because of luck (Brazil played much better and had more occasions) and only won on penalties in quarterfinals and semifinals.
The second yellow/red card was absolutely ridiculous. Yes, the Korean player got contact with the ball, but he also got contact with the player. I'm not saying it was a penalty, I don't think it was. The correct call should have been a hand ball, free kick Korea, no cards.

does anyone of you actually saw Moreno's interview? Just ffs go read it. It basically says that he couldn't give a fuck about the game, so he just gained money on it. Then he got arrested for drugs reason. Are you trying to defend this guy? Yeah, as an italian myself i can say that our playstile Is rude and defensive, but that's not the point here...
many of these are normal contacts in modern football. There were many on both sides. But only those against Italy were noticed by the referee. Same can be said in the next match Vs Spain. Oh By the way. Karma has a way with people, and Moreno ended up in Jail not so long ago.
fetuso fetuso Moreno nothing wrong. Two red card for Vieri and Totti for elbow. No penalty since got the ball first. Spain no ball was out from line for different camera angle.
Here's a tip for you football newbie. A disallowed goal = a goal scored then not allowed by the ref. An incorrect offside call, where the attacker (Tommassi in this case) still kicks the ball into the net anyway after the flag is raised and the game has been stopped is NOT a disallowed goal.
Italy did NOT have a goal disallowed vs Korea. I've done a search, and came up with nothing. If you're the one claiming that there was, maybe you can show me.
seol ki hyeon, ahn jung hwan, park ji sung, lee cheon soo, cha doo ri, hong myung bo, and lee won jae, they were the best generation under guus hiddink. where are they now?
Seriously, if you have a spare couple of hours re-watch the full game. It will change your mind about this game. Don't fall for dramatic music and slow-replays of Korean fouls only.
When the defender makes contact with the ball in a tackle, the referee cannot award a penalty kick because unless it was a particularly reckless/dangerous challenge, the contact with the ball makes it a fair tackle. Totti went down, and only he can tell us whether he intended to milk a penalty. The rest of us can only conjecture.
it seems to me like on most of these calls, the referee gave the foul. The difference is that when italy got fouled, the referee most of the time DID NOT call the foul
@lcm920417 Many people don't realise Totti got a 2nd YELLOW, not a RED CARD. And the Korean defender Song won the ball in that tackle so there was no way it was going to be a penalty.
I am just laughing for the people who said ‘this is Italian football style’ when Italian player fouled and played dirty. I can see the double standard here.
The contact the defender made with the ball was minimal and would have still been under Totti's control if the defender didn't trip Totti with his left leg and then his whole body. But what upsets me even more is that the ref didn't just let it go, robbing italy of a penalty, but gave Totti a second yellow, robbing italy of a player too!
the uploader is a serious SK fan.Nothing you say against him will get inside his head. Italians was hot from all the elbowing and rough plays Koreans did, so it was kind of a payback. Italians rough plays was mostly judged foul by the referee, Koreans..you know that referee. Both sides did some dives, so? It's natural in a soccer game. but It's not natural for someone to get kicked in the head by the opponent.(you know who) Totti's dive? the Korean did touch the ball, but he also hit Totti's leg.
not only in this match with Italian; vs Portugal, Spain... Korea always receive additional advantages from the referee, arrangements in advance harassed all fans. That's why you were hated, you were not appropriated to reach to top 4th place in WC2002
No one says Italy lost fair and square. This game was made into a complete joke by the ref. Korea should have had 3 straight red cards in the game (kick on Maldini's head, cleats up as high as Zabrotta's thigh, clear deliberate elbow on Del Piero). There were many fouls that went completely uncalled, Korea's penalty was BS, and Totti's red card... the Korean player that collided with him barely stayed on his feet that isn't a dive anywhere in the world. Only Koreans think they won fair.
Did you not see how Italian player Vieri hit Korean player's face and broke his bone? If you see the full match you will see HOW Italian players started dirty plays. Korean players tackling were just paybacks for Italian's dirty plays
@@kjthekilojuliet2408 for one player playing dirty to an entire referee being on Korean side the entire match? Come on they fucking kicked an Italian player in the head on purpose and did nothing (in the penalty area) the game shouldn't even have been played. Regardless of the referee this is not what should be called football
We won't win a world cup, but we can compete on the world stage. In 2006 WC we had 1 win/1 draw/1 loss, and in 2010 we progressed to round of 16, and lost to eventual 3rd place winners Uruguay, because of a fantastic curving Suarez goal. Our Olympic team beat Switzerland, drew with Mexico, and knocked out the unified British team out of the quarterfinal. We won the Bronze medal this morning. We don't care if we are not one of only 8 countries to win a FIFA world cup. We will keep trying though.
lol the referee of this game was a heroine dealer, this game was simply bought by the koreans exactly as the game after with spain you should be ashamed of yourself full stop.
I don't address the Spain game, because I admit they should've won 2-0 in regular time. My problem is with the Japanese posting 100s of heavily biased videos showing only Korean fouls, in an attempt to bring out Korea's image. They even included the Joao Pinto red card in the video, without showing the horrible tackle on JS Park (watch?v=mvW0tjva0FQ&feature=plcp). It's part of their widespread Korea-hate compaign on youtube.
Considering the fact that Italy at that time with Maldini in defence and others played defensive in a hard way, it still doesn't solve the problem of why they lost! Knowing that this is a tape of italian players playing dirty, you should see also the korean players who played dirty. But since that may reflect comflicts its better to see the gameplay. Now you see Italy was facing psychologically damage from the referee system that game, many tackles were not considered fouls, they were no cards againts the other team...but most importantly,THE OFFSIDES! Same happened to Spain. To me it seems no surprise that it was a manipulation of a country that played in its home. I never saw it until this day but it is the most scandalous thing in the history of the Football itself. Scandal!!!!
Vieri and Totti elbowed Korean players in the face. Were they tackles, show me footage of Korean players elbowing Italians. Watch the whole game which is available on youtube, not just the selection of Korean fouls. And why do I need to give an excuse for the Spain game? Spain should've won in regular time, and Korea did not deserve their penalty shootout win.
Both were accidental and both got a fair yellow card for that. It's funny how you complain about people being selective and only showing Korea's fouls, but you don't even mention the kick the Maldini in the head which is 100% a red card.
Why the hell are so many people angry, it just shows another side of the story. As you can see all of the free-kicks are from clear fouls, it just shows how dirty this match was played. Both teams now get over it
@SonyCamry Conspiracy theorists say it should have been a penalty kick for Italy as Totti was 'hacked'. Open your eyes and watch the replays closely. You will see that the Korean defender got the ball, so it was a legitimate challenge for the ball, and a penalty for Italy would have been the wrong call.
@tjauddhks The country that was most angry about this game was not Italy. It was Japan. 10 years later, they are still posting biased selected highlights of this game. Unbelievable.
I used the same music as the original video only showing the Korea fouls. The point I was trying to make is that with selective slow replays and ominous music you can prove anything.
This video is about 'Italians hacking down Koreans'. If Italians hate Moreno then go hack him and not Koreans. But Italians seem mixed up with Moreno and Koreans. If they really hate the referee go knock Moreno's door. He is a few thousand miles away from Korea. Whether he is a drug dealer or not is absolutely nothing to do with this match nor Koreans. That's what I am saying.
How did Totti and Vieri not get red cards early in the game for intentionally elbowing opposition players in their face? The footage is available in my channel. Yes Korean players got away with murder, but so did Italian players. It was that kind of game.
@WC2002Truth Sorry, I think If some people say " Why Korea shouldn't have reached the 2002 WC 4th place" it includes all things related to Korean football. The word "Korea" here includes the Koreans that hold 2002 WC not only the players. Hence poorly officiated is one of that factor. Moreover, you can watch the violent playing style that the Korean players used in the matches. Finally, the level of severity of the referees' mistakes was different.( continued...)
In September 2002, Moreno, while a candidate in October elections for places on the Quito city council, was suspended for twenty matches[5] and investigated by Ecuadorian football authorities and FIFA[6] after a match he officiated between Liga Deportiva Universitaria de Quito and Barcelona Sporting Club from Guayaquil.
Why is Korea being blamed for Italy's disallowed goals vs Croatia and Mexico? You made it sound like Italy had 5 goals disallowed vs Korea, when in fact they had none. Tomassi had a wrong offside call against him, but he proceeded to tap the ball into the net anyway, after the game was stopped. How many of Italy's goals were disallowed vs Korea? ZERO.
Came here after listening to the "We Came To Win" podcast latest episode titled 'The world's worst referee'. From the episode you would think the Italians were treated most unfairly. This footage suggests they were no angels. Italians are known for their 'dirty' style of play. Reminds me of Claudio Gentile nicknamed 'Qaddafi' for his hacking hard tackles and considered the master of the dark art of cynical defending. Looks to me like S Korea were better on the day. Is it a wonder they didn't qualify for Russia 2018!
Nobody is saying Korea is better than Italy. This video is in response to the hundreds of biased videos showing ONLY the Korean foul play. This is meant to show you can create any video you want and distort the facts.
As the uploader of this video, I agree. However, the problem is 100s of biased videos showing only the Korean fouls, made and posted by Japanese. This video does not aim to be balanced. It simply demonstrates the other side of the story, not shown in the Korea-hate videos with millions of views.
Portugal vs Netherlands. world record for most fouls. the difference between Por vs Ned, and Kor vs. Ita is that the ref gave out cards. The ref giving out cards, is actually a really bad thing. it creates ALOT more fights. no it doesnt make the player calmer, its the complete opposite
If you're talking about Tommassi who tapped the ball into the net after he was called offside and the Korean team stopped playing, you'd better look up the definition of a disallowed goal. These days the attacker who does that gets a yellow card. Just ask Robin van Persie.

Advanced to round of 16, lost 2-1 to Uruguay in extra time. Korea are now in strong position to qualify for 2014 WC in Brazil. Thanks for asking.
And in 2018, they would beat Germany and would have went to the last 16 if
Jang Hyun Soo(Korean player) hadn't gave penalties to the other teams
After Italy lost the game, the Italians said that they would kill the Korean players if they returned to Italy. If the players had reported it, Italy would not have been able to compete internationally.
the diference is that these fauls resulted in free kicks o most of them
And .. further 4 years later they've only reached to group stage ... without a win ... not even against New Zealand ...
Koreans like Brazil, adore their football, coffee, and beaches. I will be coming over in 2014 for the world cup :D
Ok lets just say, Korea wasn't the only ones dirty playing. Just say this world cup wasn't good
now unless you're from Brazil, you have absolutely nothing to say when it comes to football.
Thats a football. You can play chess if you dont wanna physical contact?
lmao people getting butt hurt over the past...
Well said brother
ITALIANS ARE DIRTY WHEN THEY LOSE OR CAN'T CONTROL THE GAME!
It was the year of the dream team of Italy, Its a disgrace to destroy such great football from such great players
Lifes good Moreno was convicted g match fixing btw, and has been arrested for drug trafficking (the ref of the game)
2 disallowed Spanish goals, which is why I've been saying Spain should've won 2-0 in regular time.
Exactly, if Italy lost it was because they failed to score. Vieri missing a point blank tap-in was the most obvious.
The second yellow/red card was absolutely ridiculous. Yes, the Korean player got contact with the ball, but he also got contact with the player. I'm not saying it was a penalty, I don't think it was. The correct call should have been a hand ball, free kick Korea, no cards.
You know what there's only one thing and that is that Korea cheated and nothing else. Italy deserved to win. They better in every respect. Unless u r of the same skin as the above refree in the game,u will never think of defending the koreans
If you think that way after watching this video, congratulations on your ignorance 🎉🎉 nobody can change your damn ass opinion i assume you don’t even have any friends 😂😂😂 and you’ve never been loved except from your parents😬 if you want to change your life better, open your damn eyes and think more widely
Panucci reminds of Claudio Gentile, italy's defender in 1982 WC....the very same style. the very same dirty hidden fouls!!
Please read my comment on the original video. This video was in response to 100s of videos showing ONLY the Korean fouls. This video is to show the OTHER side of the story, and I don't pretend this is the ONLY side. That is all. Italy should've won, but Korea does not deserve to be nuked like many people claim.
does anyone of you actually saw Moreno's interview?
The point is there are hundreds of videos on youtube showing ONLY korean fouls. This is meant to show the other side of the story, that's all.
Your hero is the drug baron, Byron Moreno.
Italy did NOT have a goal disallowed vs Korea. I've done a search, and came up with nothing. If you're the one claiming that there was, maybe you can show me.
From the refs point of view, when he sees a player dive, (1st time) he will go into the other team's favour. This happens in sports ALL THE TIME.
seol ki hyeon, ahn jung hwan, park ji sung, lee cheon soo, cha doo ri, hong myung bo, and lee won jae, they were the best generation under guus hiddink. where are they now?
In WC 2002, korea have the best coach and players. # 20 Hong myung bo is the best.
But all these fouls were given freekicks
the uploader is a serious SK fan.Nothing you say against him will get inside his head.
Italians was hot from all the elbowing and rough plays Koreans did, so it was kind of a payback.
Italians rough plays was mostly judged foul by the referee, Koreans..you know that referee.
Both sides did some dives, so? It's natural in a soccer game.
but It's not natural for someone to get kicked in the head by the opponent.(you know who)
Totti's dive? the Korean did touch the ball, but he also hit Totti's leg.
not only in this match with Italian; vs Portugal, Spain...
Did you not see how the Koreans were tackling the Italians before it is just payback
Italians started first.....
You can read the wonderful story of this game referee, Byron Moreno, on wikipedia...
Nice Video. But no surprise for me. EVERY Italian game is dirty.
really? i don't think so, all fouls were simple in every match. Did you watch all the fouls??? i'm a asian but i can't proud with that fucking match
may I ask you were are you from? I'm sure you must be from a contry that has never won a world cup. Clasic jelouse sentences
Did u see all the match italian made tackle fouls. However, koreans kick Maldini head, kick Totti, punch Pirlo . It wasnt simple foul
You are obviously a first class psychologist. That is exact so true like the fact, that the Italians are the most clean squad on this planet.
MrDekkert hundreds years winning everywhere on this planet even by clubs...stupid
korea vs portugal, bad refereeing ----- korea vs italy, bad refereeing ----- korea vs spain, bad refereeing....any questions?
lol the referee of this game was a heroine dealer, this game was simply bought by the koreans exactly as the game after with spain you should be ashamed of yourself full stop.
Scandal!!!!
ITS NOT A FOUL IF YOU GET HIT WITH THE BAL
Are you talking about 1:01? The Korean got hit in the face by the Italian's elbow
Personally I think Spain should've won the match vs Korea. Congratulations on winning the last 3 major titles. Long live Spanish football, from Korea.
Yes I watched the highlights of Spain vs Korea and I suffered for Spain , that was the worst Scandal of Fifa WC 2002
when cheaters have no shame
Korea had nothing to do with Italy's disallowed goals vs Croatia and Mexico. How is that relevant in a Korea vs Italy match debate??
How did Italy go in the final? And did Italy smash New Zealand by a big scoreline?
Why the hell are so many people angry, it just shows another side of the story. As you can see all of the free-kicks are from clear fouls, it just shows how dirty this match was played. Both teams now get over it
Happy new year everyone! Welcome to continue this debate into 2013, but ignorant Japanese with bad English need not apply.
Unbelievable.
i wouldnt be blaming italy, they lost couple of games during the world cup cause of bad refs calls
I used the same music as the original video only showing the Korea fouls. The point I was trying to make is that with selective slow replays and ominous music you can prove anything.
you didn't prove anything lol
ZERO.
If defender gets the ball, it's not a penalty even if the defender then tackles the attacker with the ball.
Is this for real 😳 seriously Italy were bullied and cheated out of this game absolute disgrace to the game ref should find a new job.
I think YOU missed the point. Koreans got their free kicks while Italians did not.
Is it a wonder they didn't qualify for Russia 2018!
this video makes things to be seen more fairly! Thanks to whom made this!
Ita
is that the ref gave out cards. The ref giving out cards, is actually a really bad thing. it creates ALOT more fights. no it doesnt make the player calmer, its the complete opposite
How about Spain Korea? Vs Portugal?
If you're talking about Tommassi who tapped the ball into the net after he was called offside and the Korean team stopped playing, you'd better look up the definition of a disallowed goal. These days the attacker who does that gets a yellow card. Just ask Robin van Persie.
IS this a joke? Italy was defeated by the ref. Not Korea, which should have had 6 players red carded.
