I'm finding your videos very helpful. I'm planning a trip next June. Thank you!
Great video! I'm staying here in a couple of weeks, can't wait, but worried its going to be rainy...
@@rjhatch hopefully all the rain has gone now. I think the last of the main rains have finished should be a good time to visit before it gets really busy , I did see a video of Maya bay packed with tourists and it looked horrible . If you go there , go early so you can have the beach without crowds
Dosent look any different from when we stayed there over 10yrs ago
Yes I think so they are very traditional and keep the same look
I’m trying to reserve for Feb 2026, they show sold out. How early did you book ? Did u book on website or via travel agent? Looks beautiful, thank you, Anna
@@madolynchase5154 the cheapest I found was with Agoda ( trusted site) I put a link in the description. Late November to Late feb is high season so you need to book early of those dates
I love this video, awesome review 👏
@@rachreriti1574 thanks for taking the time to leave feedback. Very motivating
Phuket sure has some luxury hotels to boast about these days. Having been to Phi Phi and Krabi, I'd rather spend just a few days in Phuket then take off for the islands or Krabi for most of my holiday. I don't like the beaches on Phuket (the sea is rough) and I despise the traffic. That place sure looks wonderful though.
@@mancunianinlondon I think it also depends on the time of year you visit. When I have visited a number of times in December , January the sea has been very calm and flat both at the Shore and up at Surin. While at the same period over in the gulf of Thailand the waves were up. In August this year in Phuket the surf was up . Traffic can be terrible but not really a problem if you have seen most of the sites before and just spend time around the resort . The shore is one that I felt you didn’t need to leave much other than a quick run over to Patong to go to the Savoey for dinner etc. you only need to put up with it coming and going to the airport and I try to avoid the Moring and afternoon rush hours.
@@globebug Yes the sea was rough when I went because I went in June and July. I would not get in because it was too risky. The sea in Phi Phi though was very calm and we did lots of snorkelling on PP Leh and PP Don and Bamboo island. Nice videos, lovely to see different hotels
I want it ride on it one day :)
Very informative! Good video. What room type were you in? Was it Seaview villa or Romance villa?
Thanks for your compliment and question. I just looked up the original reservation and the Villa shown in the video was a Seaview Pool Villa Romance.
Been here several times (last time in early 2023), and keep enjoying the vintage-like attire and old-school type of service. It's not even expensive, considerung that most 4-star alternatives have less to offer but are more expensive. Anyway, I truly enjoyed your thorough and truly well-made video to the full. Thank you for making and sharing.
❤❤🎉❤❤
Good review ,Rooms look a little underwhelming and dated for a 5 star hotel , everything else seems ok
Wow, what a vid! I really enjoyed your style with the detailed report. Planning to go back to Phi Phi in 2 years and this has me sold on Zeavola, especially that the Saii village bars/restaurants are more easily accessible than i thought. How was the bed mattress? Just vant be dealing with a firm one and waking 5 times a night. Thanks from NZ and now subscribed to watch your others vids.
I should have mentioned that in the video, my mistake. The bed was perfect. Not to hard, firm but soft. No sleeping issues for us. The safe, quiet comfortable feeling sleeping there. I was just back at the Saii village last month. Still good. Good restaurants, good massage and the bars are still interesting. If the tide is up the long tail can take you right up to the bridge / back entrance of the village. I went back to shoot more footage of the Saii . Got the drone shots I was after but I left me Action camera with the SIM card at our Thai house by accident so can't finish the review yet. I will be back in Thailand in 33 days time ( counting the days ) . will stay for 1 month and then come back and finish the Saii review.
Very good review. I haven’t stayed here since 2019. I really like the hotel but now when I go to Hua Hin I prefer going to Hua Hin over Pattaya but should I return to Pattaya I will stay here. I have also tried the Amari which had good facilities at the time and the Mecure which I didn’t like as much
Can you share the rough costs of travel and eating at the hotel please
@@waxfluent5105 the hotel is not cheap and totally depends on time of year. Like many of these types of hotels you are not just paying for the room and the resort and grounds , you are paying for hopefully a more reserved type of guest. That is not always true and it can be Russian roulette with some wealthy people acting poorly. Other guests can spoil the experience. Hopefully the odds are better than staying at a back packers lodge if you want quiet and romance. Getting there is not an issue.and not expensive. we did not eat at the hotel much. Mainly because of two factors. 1 we were a little disappointed with the breakfast because they made a big deal of the French chef. The one Dinner we had was good but over priced 2. There were many other good choices along the beach and at SAii village. So we ate mostly at the small beach restaurant that had fresh sea food and also got take away there for the villa.
very informative! helps a lot for planning. thank you!
@@arlynmolina1441 thanks for commenting, I’m sure you will enjoy your trip away
Nice review of the Dusit Thani hotel as it’s well established 4 star hotel in a quieter area. Interested to watch the reviews on the Hilton and Intercontinental too….as looking for a nice hotel to stay in for few nts on an anniversary soon. Was there a price comparison between them here?? Liked & subbed!!🧐😉😎

Could I ask how difficult it is to get from Phuket to the Gold Coast (Sydney or Brisbane). Next time I was hoping to tag Oz onto a trip to Thailand. I am just not sure what to expect or whether it's a massive trek
The Gold Coast is around 1 - 1.5 hours drive south of Brisbane. Mainly freeway wall the way. Gold Coast would be the Australian equivalent to Phuket . Nice but very touristy. Thai was doing a direct flight from Phuket to Sydney but may have stopped it. Not sure. Bangkok to Sydney is a 9 Hour flight. cheaper airlines fly this also but stop over in Singapore or KL North and South of the Gold Coast also have loads of choices for Beaches and towns. Most popular are Byron Bay ( South), then North , Caloundra, Coolum, Noosa ( very popular ) All of the Sunshine Coast . Then North a very popular area is the Whitsunday Islands. Mainland town is Cannonvale then boat out to many islands. WhiteHaven beach may have the whitest sand in the world. Or further north is Cairns. Easy day trip out to Green Island. very nice Obviously Sydney has many beaches also along with the city.
@@Jettec thank you. I have been told about Whitehaven beach many times and that it is incredible. I'm very tempted to try to get to Cairns and the barrier reef the next time I am in Thailand.
Me again did you not do a video on Phi Phi CoCo?
@@mancunianinlondon I have stayed there twice and have all the footage of the hotel. I am going back in about 2 weeks time to do the drone footage if the weather is OK. Rainy season now so hit and miss. I have 2 nights in the main area and hopefully it will be clear at some point. Then once I have the footage I can edit the video
Hello again. Well we finally got there. We stayed 3 nights at SAii and 3 nights at phi phi villa resort which is a 15 min walk from tonsai pier. We did the early morning trip at 630 am to phi phi leh. Because it was low season last month phi phi was relatively quiet. Seeing maya bay and bamboo island early in the morning was incredible. Hardly anyone there. True paradise on earth. Loved the fire shows at carlitos bar at night. SAii sadly disappointed us. Huge diggers and lots of workmen on beach every day which was as annoying and upsetting. Also they had closed their pool bar. Nowhere to get cash out and the internet was non existent. Staff on reception very surly. I will never go back there. We spent serious money at the Rayavadee on Railay beach and they delivered big time. Absolute heaven there. Phi phi villa resort very good for just 60 quid per night. Phuket lovely but glad to get out of thrr after 5 days. Far too much traffic to grapple with. Btw Camel Rock was lovely. Thanks for the suggestion
@@mancunianinlondon thanks for your feedback, interesting information. Agree going early to avoid crowds at Maya bay is best. Will be visiting Saii Phi Phi again in about 2 weeks time. Will be interested to see if we encounter similar issues. Last time it was wonderful , not perfect but very relaxing and laid back, service was good. this time we wanted to check on it during rainy season . Many resorts do maintenance for the high season during off season so it can be luck of the draw. We have had one very good stay at Rayavadee and one disappointing stay. For the very high price they need to deliver perfection . Our last stay was lacking on many levels, breakfast, crowding, noise, service , rude guests at big wedding thinking they owned the resort. All depends on timing I guess. Last visit we stayed at another resort at railay, and it was better value. Location is perfect every time. Agree Phuket traffic is a downer when you want to go places and get stuck in heavy traffic. I’m sure I will have that again in a couple of weeks time. Glad you liked Camel Rock , we are looking forward to going again soon. Thanks James
@@globebug Hello and thank you. Which other resort at Railay did you visit? Bhu Nga Thani resort looked tempting so we might stay there next time. Do you have a recommendation for Railay area? Phranang beach was also stunning. SAii was a huge disappointment for us. Our stay had so many issues that we won't stay there again. That resort is significantly more expensive than most others on Phi Phi so we expected better. We might actually try The Holiday Resort which is near Zeavola. Did you stay at Rayavadee in high season? Maybe its a very different kettle of fish during the high season? On Phuket we stayed at Thavorn Village which is quite close to Kamala and Surin beaches. It was a stunning resort. We couldn't fault it for the price we paid. It was probably our favourite spot in terms of resorts. I think on my next visit I will go straight to Phi Phi from Phuket airport and do island hopping from there. I would love to go back to Railay beach for a longer stay too. But Rayavadee rates are too high to stay there again
@@mancunianinlondon we stayed at Railay Village Resort last time after . Room was good, food was good. Pool was good. In a more busy spot but nice view from the restaurant at sunset. Satay chicken was great. Easy access to that walking path from one side to the other beach. Can scoot out the back way and your half way across already. Did 5 nights in high season and 4 nights in shoulder season. Stay at Thavorn Village twice on the beach front. Both good stays and enjoyed all the animals that they have , giant tortoises, baby pigs, birds etc in that afternoon feeding session. Nice quiet beach. Cabins a little simple but good. Ko Yao yai and Koh lanta are both quiet and good also. Have footage on all those still to edit
@@globebug Oh I wanted to go to Koh Yao Yai but never got the time. I'd love to see your footage! Thanks for the recommend on Railay Village. I might try it. Yes Thavorn is lovely and the pool is one of the best I've had the pleasure to swim in. It's such a pity about the traffic on Phuket. Either we got stuck in Patong or stuck in Bang Tao. It has totally deterred me from going back for anything longer than a few nights.
@@mancunianinlondon I don't have as much footage as I would like , maybe have enough. I ate an ice cream from a road side shop and got really really bad food poisoning . Maybe the worst I have ever had. So spent 4 full days in bed. Still sick when I caught the speedboat back to Phuket. So that cut my filming short. I will go back. We stayed at the Koh Yao Yai Village resort. Wonderful view from the swimming pool Nice rooms , good service and food.
Excellent overview thank you! Am staying at the dusit in two weeks time, this video is the best one on the resort for sure, i've watched lots of them before finding this one, thanks.
@@bevano thanks for thanking the time to leave feedback. I think it is a good choice in Pattaya. Close to everything but also far enough away to be more relaxing and the small beach at the back adds to the chill out factor
@@globebug great. We are also staying at the Hilton for a couple of nights so are looking forward to when you upload your review for there! Thanks again.
@@bevano just landed in Bangkok again for a 1 month trip south. Will do the Hilton review when back in Sydney However . 100% go to the Hilton roof top bar at sunset. It’s call Horizon. Very nice to have a meal or drink up there. View is amazing and the bar is great with the blue lighting
Nice choice of music! I never realized how well this part of Shine On would work with this kind of slow panning video. So good.
This is superb content. I once hired a longtail and checked out every bay and beach on Phi Phi. I don't think Zeavola existed back then. I found your video when I was looking for a quieter place to stay on Phi Phi. I used to stay at Paradise Pearl on Long Beach and it really was paradise, but I'm afraid Long Beach is just too busy now. Anyway, thank you for the brilliant content. I'll be checking out your other videos now.
Thank you very much for taking the time to leave feedback. I have many many many more videos still edit. 3 more on Phi Phi. The Saii Phi Phi Village is also a good one round that side of the island. Quieter and has the village connected at the back. I am going back there for a third time in around 3 weeks time to get more footage and escape the Sydney winter. Just finishing a video now on Dust Thani Pattaya. Will try and post this week. I have loads of Phuket hotels to post and also Pattaya, Bangkok, Koh Chang, Koh Mak, Koh Lipe, Koh Yai , Changmai, etc etc. I know what you mean when you want to go back to an area that was good years ago and how disappointing it can be by the over development and over crowding that happens now days. Thanks again for your kind words. James
@@globebug Thank you for the reply. I really appreciate you suggesting another option on Phi Phi as well. In my opinion, Ko Phi Phi (including both Phi Phi Don and Phi Phi Leh) is the most beautiful island on earth, even with the crowds. The trick is finding a place to stay away from the crowds and figuring out ways to see the beautiful parts (like Maya Bay on Phi Phi Leh) without encountering too many people. Your suggestion about taking an early longtail over to Maya Bay is a good one. In about 1996, I took a longtail over to Maya Bay from Long Beach and we were literally the only people in the bay - just me, my friend and the boatman. It was mind blowing. I'm always looking for the holy grail in Thailand (and elsewhere): a nice place to stay on a beautiful island away from the crowds but close to a good beach. It doesn't have to be at all fancy, just well run, clean and quiet. I had one on the quiet side of Ko Tao, but that bay has become too crowded. For me, the magic ingredient is space and privacy - if a bungalow is far enough away from other bungalows and restaurants, it's almost always good. I wonder if there are any such places on Ko Mak or Ko Kood. Do you have a presence online where people can find you? There's a lot to discuss.
@@chrisrowthorn41 I was in Koh Mak in April and Koh Kood last December. Both were very good. Both a lot quieter than Phi Phi. Koh Mak is quite small but also good fun and relaxing. If you are on instagram I have posted some reels there on account Globe.Bug We stayed at The Mak Trat on Koh Mak and Shantaa on Koh Kood. Koh Lipe and the island there are also fantastic. BUT they are further away. Koh Lanta is also good , laid back. all on Instagram Globe.Bug Will post reviews on both. We fly out to Thailand again tomorrow morning and we be staying at Saii Phi Phi again in a few weeks time.

how much was the Surin transfer from the airport?
I can’t remember now but at the time I don’t think it was over the top expensive otherwise I would have just taken a taxi. Just contact the hotel for today’s rates.
are those tractors frequently crossing the beach? Does it annoy the guests? Seems like it might be annoying to have those crossing the beach all the time
No , when we stayed the most I saw in a day were 2. one in the late morning and one in the afternoon. Other days only 1 and one day zero. The tractor wheel marks in the sand were more irritating to me in photo's but the tide washed them away

Hello, how do you get from Tonsai to the Zeavola at night? Do the long tails still take you? are or you isolated at the hotel at night?
Yes you can catch a long tail boat. I would arrange it with the boat driver earlier so that you know what time you want to go back before leaving it very late . Late at night many boats will be tied up and the drivers at home already but if you arrange it earlier in the afternoon evening you can be sure that you don’t have to worry about it. I was thinking of booking here for June, the only deterrent is the lack of pools. It seems to only have one pool which is small. Of the sea is rough, it's kinda limited
If the sea is flat we never use the pool, beach is safe and long but as you say it does not have a huge river like pool system like say the banyan tree or others along that coast.
I didn't realise that the banyan tree has a lazy river@@globebug

Great video mate, really good atmosphere! If they call that a creek in Australia, I'd love to see what passes for a river down there!
Maybe it’s called a creek because it’s not very long. I think only 5 to 10 Km. Or maybe the person was drunk. Who knows but google says it’s a creek. It’s the opposite for mountains here . We don’t have any real mountains but lots of things are called mountain. Most things here are hills not mountains

Sorry for the late reply . on this video I used the insta 360 X2 , an old Go Pro 7, and my iPhone 13 . I have other gear but like to travel light a lot of the time and the small gear means you can walk around without disturbing other people
Nice place 💕💕💕
we are planning to visit Phuket, can you advise suitable season to visit here? September or Winter ?
Best time is weather wise is December, January. That is when it is not as hot ( still hot and humid but less than other times ) but it is more expensive to fly and stay . months on either side of this may be a good choice also.
To me, this is the best resort on the island of Phuket.
I think it might be and that is saying a lot because there are so many resorts and the standard and competition is high across Phuket. I have many more videos to edit. And there are some other that are great and some expensive ones that disappointed.
Thinking of going next March. Are there many mosquitoes there or too high up? I imagine they have mosquito nets in the rooms . I’m one to always get bitten!
We found no mosquitos, I think the salt air and breeze helps and not much still water ponds around because it is on a hill side. I’m the same always being bitten but we had no issue. Also March is way before rainy season so should be no issue
Really appreciate the part where you listed the hotel map! I am planning to take my parents on a trip to Phuket and have been worrying about the stairs which so many people complained about on booking, I have decided on taking the delux rooms after watching your vid so they dont have to go through the trouble of these stairs! Thanks man!
Thanks for the feedback. Hope you enjoy your trip. Sorry for the delay , I have just got back from another trip to Thailand and spent 5 weeks driving around on a road trip. Brilliant. If you go into the Patong area eat at the Savoy sea food on the main road along the beach. Great sea food and chicken satay
