The Crossing Guard - Ending & Final Scene

Freddy Gale (Jack Nicholson) wants revenge on John Booth (David Morse), the man who accidentally killed his daughter in a drink-driving incident. When Booth is released from prison after six years, Gale vows to kill him... This is the surprisingly moving end to the movie - with fantastic performances from Nicholson and Morse.

Such a beautiful film - and an incredible score by John Barry.

I've always felt the Bond theme was a bit unsuitable, playing over the end credits after Tracy had been killed. I think the silence is more in keeping with the sombre tone...
Last Of The Dogmen - Ending and Credits (UK version/without narration) (Music by David Arnold)

One of my favourite films... this is the UK version of the ending, without the third-person narration - the way director Tab Murphy intended. Enjoy the scene - and David Arnold's beautiful soundtrack - in all it's glory!
I have watched this scene so many time and I cry every time- so powerful
This is pretty sad 😞 but a happy ending 🥺🥹
What a profound, significant movie. Unforgettable
I didn't understand this movie as a child. I didn't know about narcissists then.
I think about this film all of the time. The chemistry between Jeff Bridges and Karen Allen is incredible. The music is perfect. The cinematography is perfect. It is an utter masterpiece. Jeff Bridges deserved an Oscar for his performance and John Carpenter deserved at least a nomination for best director.
Awesome movie. Did Jenny get arrested after he left?
I don't think so... the movie ended straight after he left though.
This movie could have easily turned to dopey soap opera, but the actors and director kicked ass. Major ass.
If ever they remake this iwant to be in it
Saddest goodbye ever 😁😁😁😁😁🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
Yes he could they so highly advanced she could have gone with him writing sucked at that point 😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁
Deep down inside he really didn’t want to kill Booth. If he did he wouldn’t have given him three days, or the opportunity to shoot him in self defense or deliberately miss when he shot at him.
I've long defended this film's winning Best Picture over "Raging Bull," and while De Niro may have deserved the Best Actor Oscar, it was absolutely criminal for Sutherland not have been at least nominated. RIP.
Just boo-hooing.....
think about your own family watching this revealing moment
This is by far John carpenter’s best film, which is ironic as he is mainly known for horror!
Im a blubbering mess watching this scene. So moving ❤
My father had dementia my mother had died a year before one day I went into his room he was watching this and crying.it was her favorite movie.he had forgot everything but some how he never forgot her.
RIP Donald Sutherland. Calvin Jarrett is among his roles that stand out.
RIP Donald Sutherland
The ghastly, shut-down "niceness" of suburbia, covering up generations of inherited and inflicted pain, "never to be talked about." Gasp.
This scene ALWAYS gets me. No matter how many times I watch it.
Mr. Sutherland, mission accomplished. Rest In Peace.
With Donald passing away today, I had to come back to this scene. I learned how important it is to be there for your kids as a Dad. I am raising my grandson and he made a simple request yesterday. My inclination was to say no because of inconvenience.i relented and said yes. It turned into a special moment and I need to pay more attention. I won’t have them forever. Thanks for reminder, Donald. I am not disappointed either.
More unfortunately, he won’t have you 😘
Beautifully expressed. God bless you & your grandson ❤
Had to come watch this scene after I heard Donald passed. RIP
This scene is everything, thank you Donald Sutherland -- such a fine performance in this film. The nuance, the detail, the spirit -- he had it all. Rest in beautiful peace.
RIP Donald Sutherland. This film and his performance seriously changed my life.
you couldn't have given donald sutherland a better compliment.
R.I.P. - Donald McNichol Sutherland CC (17 July 1935 - 20 June 2024)
RIP Donald Sutherland & Mary Tyler Moore
When I heard that Donald Sutherland passed, this scene immediately popped in my head. Should have been nominated for an Oscar and Won for his role in Ordinary People.
Totally agree!!
I couldn’t agree more ❤
Thank you, Donald Sutherland. Rest in peace.
RIP, Donald Sutherland. A true legend.
RIP Donald Sutherland. You will be dearly missed.
This proves he was excellent actor RIP Don
He deserved Oscar for this role! A total unjistice he didnt get it!!
If this is....the last.....thing...i see....on this.....Blue 💎 Gem....of a Marble.......I'll try.....harder.... Next. TIME....^_^
Saddest goodbye in movie history 😢
There was a love or two I had that were doomed. Often wonder if I’ll see them in the afterlife.
I don't see a man breaking down. I see a broken man healing by finally allowing himself to grieve. I would like to imagine he serves his time in jail, and then comes back and tries to repair his relationship with his remaining children... and perhaps is even able to have an amicable relationship with his ex wife.
This movie was a masterpiece. I enjoyed the whole entire movie 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Here. ..June 2024....I love you all......*/*
Ive never watched a movie like this especially this last scene when David Morris leads Jack's daughter grave.ive never seen 2 actors takes us,the audience right there on our knees holding hands with them because my heart absolutely broke in a way I'd never felt
2:02 Smell my fingers, its been up your minge 😅
the most heartbreakingly beautiful scene 🥹🤍
I remember watching this movie with my Dad when I was a young child. It was one of his favourite movies. I still love it and one day will walk down the aisle to this instrumental. So moving.
I saw the TV series continuation with Robert Hays as Starman finally meeting and journeying with his son to find Jenny. I liked it even if it couldn't be quite as appealing as the movie.
beyond great
Excellent movie that stood out in a year of heavy weight movies. I mean Dune and 2010 were both out in 84 in theaters at the same time as Starman. What a year....
Karen so beautiful in the final seen watching go 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
He will know ,🥰🥰🥰
Highly advanced alien race and FTL ships and she couldn't go BULLSHIT .
Mary loved God
I’d love a post-credits scene. Just as they’re reunited they revive him 🤣
Nope when you die it’s started no one is married in heaven and sex doesn’t exist. So it can’t be heaven. So it’s just a short hallucination before he’s buried six feet under
🥴 ...you old romantic, lol
Such a powerful ending.
