    @1:50 perhaps YOU don't know the _translation_ of *Bai Hui* , but informed & educated practitioners understand precisely what it means: * 'Hundred Convergences' * located on the highest and most yang point on the human body, the head - as to *Dan Tian* is a simple translation referred to as: 'Field of Elixir' You are out of your depth, Mr. Hat - on to: Hui Yin 会阴部 yùnyínbù/Hui Yin. This the perineum, which is the area of skin between the genitals and anus, as well as the tissues at the bottom of the pelvic cavity. Now, find yourself another job . . seriously

    Ah so glad I found your channel. Have been practicing taiji/bagua and feldenkrais for over 10 years and it's rare to find such quality instruction on UA-cam. Have been a bit lax about my studies lately and and this is motivating. I think what you're describing is also described as 'internal stretching' but correct me if I'm wrong.

    That well said. I've been trained the same, different words but everything same. Maybe slight turning of the knee out, screwing slight of the heel out but opposite direction at knee to hip, sinking, relaxing and sinking kua but everything you described is exact training of embracing the tree standing. Very thorough

    Thank you for your genuine and no-nonsense sharing. Always good to see people who have done the work and have the skills. And how simple and clearly you lay out the path. It's crazy how little traction this channel has in regards to likes and comments. And of course there's always one or two commenters who come to brag that their glass is fuller, haha. And indeed there's people just 'learning' Tai Chi / ZZ / QG / NG from UA-cam. We can but smile about the wonderful world of people and the platforms like this that bring us together. Anyway I'm just here to give appreciation to what you have to share. Best wishes to you and your students 🙂☯️👍

    Cain your video was better than other videos on UA-cam. I studied Tai-Chi for 2 years and the first class was all about the step. My teacher mentioned something you ommitted which is "Grounding yourself", which meant as you take the step, make sure your toes go from pinky to Big toe "completely feeling" the terrain your stepping on, assuring is safe, and grounding yourself as you're about to shift your weight.

    I enjoyed this video and ordered a pair . I was confused by the "extra" lace the each shoe came with or perhaps it's supposed to have an addditional very long lace at the top of the shoe . Or perhaps it needs to be double tied so the lace isn't touching the ground ? Comfy shoe just have to figure out laces :)

    I practice on concrete most of the time, but in the winter I practice on a polished walnut floor. The form of tai chi that I practice has two spins, one heel spin and one on the ball of the foot. If a shoe has a very grippy sole, it makes the spins difficult, especially on the walnut floor. How would you describe the amount of grip of these shoes?

    • @innercourttaiji
      @innercourttaiji 5 місяців тому

      That is a really good question and did address that in the video. Furthermore I had some call me about that very issue. The shoes is grippy and you will have to adjust your spins. It definitely makes them more difficult, that said once you practice with grippy soles you have way more control and precision with different type of shoes on different surfaces. Long story short they are grippy. Thanks for question.

    This is an excellent and very helpful video. Some of these exercises I do standing up as part of the 'Constant Bear' routine, as well as a full-body 'tapping' practice. I still get the stiff legs a bit, but it's becoming less. My hips also need to open more, so I can't get into a half-lotus position. I use a cushion to help take the pressure off my knees. I certainly feel the benefits of a stronger back and more relaxed taiji practice from doing the sitting meditation work. I get a lot of help from one of my teachers, Steven Moore, via his online classes. He posts the videos on his 'taiji heartwork' UA-cam channel after each session.
