Here are every options and variations I found while playing it myself! Hopefully the editing isn't too confusing, I wasn't sure how best to show everything. There's probably more variations I haven't found, however, sorry about that! The Dark Urge meets Gortash alone and refuses him (he never gives up) - Baldur's Gate 3

It's funny how he never gives up or attacks when you refuse him and tell him to go to hell over and over (as long as you don't attack).
The Dark Urge meets Enver Gortash with and without Karlach, a comparison - Baldur's Gate 3

Thought it was interesting how different Gortash's behavior is depending on whether the Dark Urge is alone or accompanied by the companions, especially Karlach. In the alone version he seems so genuinely happy to see Durge! Timestamps: 00:00 With Karlach I 01:22 Alone I 02:07 With Karlach II 02:33 Alone II 02:43 With Karlach III 03:10 Alone III 03:39 With Karlach IV 04:55 Alone IV 06:05 With Ka...
So Gort doesn't actually wait for the patriars to clear out? He really has this whole villainous speech in front of all of them?
With how gortash grew up, I imagine durge is the only person that could come close to a true friend for him, from the journals it's clear they greatly admired each other. my headcanon is pre-Orin durge' while always planning to betray Gortash was going to enjoy whatever they could about being a tyrant until the urge could no longer be contained At that point out of respect, unlike the countless innocents slaughtered in cold blood durge would ofter Gortash a duel and a fighting chance
WHY IS HE SO BABYGIRL!!!! also i love your channel name op, please keep spreading ur truth!!!
bro is down bad 💀💀💀
7:02 Like how you 'rewarded' Karlach? Lying little weasel
Can we can get an ending where Durge romances Gortash and then offs him after. I’d be happy with that at least 😭
its funny how eccentric orin's way of speaking is in order to maintain the character she's built up for herself.
Most successful Religious Hoax is a bit of an overstatement. Considering several of those Hoaxes went on to become heretical faiths and some even touched upon a truth that cleaves to the divine well enough for clerics to draw power from them.
He's my favourite protagonist!
Bane is pretty reasonable and should be given control of the city.
I couldn't imagine how awkward it'd be if you were romancing Karlach and you walk in and Gortash is all like BESTIE!!!!

That glint of light in his eyes really adds to the "uwu my bestie is back" vibe LMAO, I'm so ill for this man.
Whos still simping after all this time? 😂
what proved it to me was the fact that during my regular playthrough, when you kill the steel watch and raid the iron throne to rescue duke ravenguard, if you were aligned with gortash, he cuts you off entirely, and when you meet with him again, it triggers a fight. but in my durge playthough, he was STILL willing to consider a deal even after i did both of those things, a usual dealbreaker for tav. ofc i said no because i had karlach in my party and i wanted him dead but it was quite funny that he was THAT down bad for my little half elf sorcerer twink
Damn Gortash. He makes it really hard to dislike him in this scene. I'm actually surprised by how sincere he is regarding sharing rulership.
What makes it more surprising is that when you bring Karlach with you he mentioned that the reason why he sold her soul to the devil was because he truly believed that she would come out strong like what happened to him since he was also sold to the devil when he was a child.
I love the small detail that if your don't play as Durge you find a White Dragonborn's dead body in the Bhaal Temple that looks like base Durge.
It's confirmed to be Durge, Orin finally killed him before we arrived as Tav.
In short: "PLEASE DURGE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASEEE"
I’ll do whatever you want sir
Successful tyrants must have trusted allies. He’s very firm and makes sense.
Is he just explaining that whole thing in front of so many people?
Then she didn’t lie - the past is lost to you. Let me clear up some mysteries, then. Our wedding was in the spring…
I love him but he need to brush his teeth
I love how Gortash is literally exposing himself in 4k by explaining how he started the Absolute while everyone else in the room is like yeah we totally didn't hear Gortash explaining his whole plan.
the expressions when they’re alone. can they let us kiss him already
Is that Jason Isaacs?
His facial expressions are so fricking warm and affectionate when you talk alone, I- man I can't, my heart can't.
Zevlor comes off as a pathetic, geriatric, weakling who's only purpose is to be saved...how was he ever this badass Paladin?
I personally think that he is retired, just wants some peace and sleep, but because of his own mistakes, and also just bad luck, he keeps needing to be saved.
Buddy, if you're gonna do a video like this, maybe try recording it with the volume higher than 5?
The way he talks to you is like you’ve spent years spending hours in close quarters together….
Somewhat unrelated, but I don’t think Jason Isaacs gets enough credit for this role. Everyone praises JK Simmons for his voice with Ketheric, and although it was pretty good, I really wasn’t the biggest fan. Isaacs, though, really captures the slimy, charismatic villain. I mean he’s done it plenty of times before, Lucius Malfoy for example. I might just be biased because I liked Isaacs’ voice before this but I could listen to Gortash talk for hours. It’s pretty easy to see why kids like Karlach for example were easily tricked by him. He’ll tell you whatever you want to hear, in exactly the way you want to hear it. A great villain.
these gortash simps in the comments are so gross
This man makes the feminism leave my body
I never really absorbed Orin's journal at the end - now re-reading it, and with some others bits of dialogue spoken by the Elderbrain and Gortash, it seems Durge literally WAS the plan - like they were doing all the work. This gives more reason as to why the Elderbrain respected Durge so much. Gortash and Ketheric were literally just sitting back as Durge made it all happen. It's partly why the Elderbrain thinks the rest of them are so pathetic. Durge was the glue of the alliance - that's why the Elderbrain AND Gortash seemed so pissed off at the fact that Durge vanished. It was literally all over from that moment, and for Gortash, it all fell on HIS shoulders, probably why the dude aged 10 years in just a month or so that the Durge was gone, having to deal with 'that old stump ketheric' and Durge's batshit insane sibling. Gortash was shouldering everything that DURGE had been shouldering. idk why but I find that so funny.
Look at this big old puppy eyes. It's no wonder people think he's got it bad for the Durge.
He could have at least cast silence around himself or something, everybody can hear him, not just Durge.
He kills them all anyways
i hope in patch 8 we could at least smooch and then punch gortash
Please. those two were obviously fcking
What I don't understand is why no one reacted. Because surely every patriar present heard that.
if it's evil why pretty?
Mimicry of something beautiful means easier manipulation, unfortunately. Now I sound like Gale XD.
Read this in gale's voice@@NightWink129
I like how he denies you your titles if you don't go along with his plan, because if you agree from the begging instead of ex cult leader the line goes "I turn to you, the scion of Bhaal; You are his dear Prince - he created you to rule" which from Bane's chosen is the biggest compliment he can give someone, not to mention in front of the nobility.
It's fascinating to see how much more open his body language is, and how much more he smiles, when you meet him alone as the Dark Urge.
thanks for the video! interaction with him is so interesting. One of my favourite in the game
Larian, let us have one ending when The Dark Urge staying as the Assassin can romance this man, stop being such a tease about them
Corntash is gay for dark murge
The fact that he is dubbed by Jason Isaacs makes me want to romance him even more 😭 ❤
JUST SCREW ALREADY!
i definitely think durge should be able to spare gortash (and orin but i don’t think most would agree with that) but i’m imagining redeemed durge saving the world and promptly plopping gortash in the therapy tank to fix that pesky little “trying to rule the world through brute force” complex of his
your username lmao yeah, this is how I wish things could end. A redeemed durgetash.
I actually think Orin has one of the best chances of redemption. She’s so clearly a brainwashed fanatic, and if you reveal Sarevok’s incest to her, she actually starts to break down and question things and Bhaal has to forcibly turn her into the Slayer. If there was a way to prevent that, I think it could’ve been the equivalent of Shadowheart’s moment with Nightsong that gets her to start thinking more critically about her faith and breaking out of the brainwashing. Not sure if she’d be a good person at the end of that, but she’d at least be her own person, and i find it so tragic that she died at the exact moment she experienced her first taste of true agency in probably her entire life. She’s probably too chaotic for Minthara but id love to read a post-epilogue black buddy comedy of them roadtripping through the underdark turning their murdery ways to good use by fighting Lolth and such. I can definitely see Minty as the “straight man” (in the comedic sense) to Orin’s, uh, Orin.
@@alissapenridge7516 I love Orin as a character so dearly, and it always breaks my heart to kill her. Don’t get me wrong, she’s still very obviously a murderer, but she’s no less redeemable than Durge. She’s not only been brainwashed since birth but has been subjected to brutal humiliation and blatant favoritism on behalf of Bhaal. I guess as the obviously least favorite child a part of her speaks to me and my own feelings of inadequacy, and desperately vying for the love of a parent who will never love you back.
Minor detail, but I like how Gortash just talks about them being kings, not as king and queen consort, implying them being true equals instead of Durge being subservient to his whims.
Or they gay
@@AA-cf4es Yeah, that's the thing if Durge is a man/nb, but considering the status of queens throughout history being subservient to male monarchs I thought this was a nice touch. I'm not too familiar with DnD/Forgotten Realms lore.
There's a short video on youtube where next to the pool, before going to face the brain, the player (Durge) attacks Gortash and he basically yells at them for being a fool and seeking fight when they're about to confront a being beyond their comprehension. The player responded with "my hands slipped" to which Gortash smiles lightly, kicks them, says "What a coincidence! So did my foot." Then, still lightly smiling, he goes on about how if you try it again and only when he actually says the threat part, the smile disappears. Really drives home that he has a soft spot for Durge and even finds these kinda interactions amusing/cute/funny.
Honestly, I'm one of those people who saw Gortash and was instantly wishing I could romance him. Even more so now having seen him and Durge content.
