How can Sam not differentiate between dead believers and alive believers??? If the saints in heaven spent their days praying for us, how can they worship God in full measure? This is why only the Son can do such tremendous work.

I couldnt think of a time that I would ever pray to anyone or anything other then God. I think Sam is trying to pull out things that are not there. Jesus did say whatever you ask in my name. I disagree with Sam on this.

I'm a Catechumen in the Orthodox Church and I had this experience. One night recently I was filled with anger towards my former Reformed Pastor. So, I wrote him a letter about how Reformed Theology is a lie, his church is nothing but a social club, the pastors underneath him don't love people, etc. Now, a more mature Christian maybe could have handled doing that in a better worded statement or met with them in person. Because I did it out of anger and pride, I invited a massive spiritual attack that I believe God used to bring me to my first confession. Day and night I was being tormented by evil thoughts and dreams. I was so distraught and afraid of sleeping, I drove down to a monastery and ended up having confession. I repented of my foolish behavior and now I can sleep again. I hate that I gave into those feelings, but it taught me an extremely important lesson about the power of forgiveness and the sacrament of confession. The priest who handled my confession mentioned that I may have been cursed because of making that letter public on my Facebook. He also stated that it was quite possible that someone from that church cursed me with their anger. Learn from my mistakes and guard your heart and mind.

I have to say this is a silly question, no one would be offended and of course we (non-Catholics) believe Mary will indeed be included in this group. But to extrapolate and use twisted theology gymnastics that (1) she did not sinned as all humans have, and (2) she has ascended to Heaven, when the Bible is fully silent on this subject, is just human imagination. And more than just imagination, these gymnastics have of course the goal of justifying why Catholics ADORE (not venerate) the virgin Mary as a goddess, they make her a co-redeemer with Christ! This is not only heresy, it is BLASPHEMY against the Godhead. I personally feel that the virgin Mary was indeed a "favored one" as Gabriel called her in his greeting, and she was a very pious young woman. I have no doubts that as the mother of Jesus she may very well have a special place in Heaven, after Jesus' second coming, but I believe the reason is Bible is totally silent on her is on purpose, because Jesus of course knew she would be deified and this would be wrong.

Sam, Jesus is ALL of GOD. You pray to Jesus. There is no need to pray to saints or angels. Jesus said, If you've seen Me, you've seen the Father. And He also said "I AM the Spirit who gives life." Lastly, who did the tax collector pray to in the temple with the Pharasee nest to him? He said, "GOD, be merciful to me, a sinner." Luke 18:13. There was no need for him to ask anyone else to pray for him. Same holds true today.

The 24 elders are men on earth. These are the ones who made Christ their only teacher as the way for truth, not men, and made it to the Father. The scroll the lamb took and began to open is the same scroll Daniel was told to seal up UNTIL the time of the end. That scroll contains information of the day and the hour of Christs coming. The angel told Daniel that many will roam to and fro to understand what is in that scroll and to try to increase in knowledge. Daniel 12:9 Christ shares that information at the time of the end only with those who were faithful to him by making him their only teacher for truth and knowledge. The 24 elders are protected in the hour of test and will not be affected by the Great Tribulation that comes after.

What scripture authorizes us to pray to Mary or any other saint?

I get you about the catholic church and the pope, but the problem is the catholic teaching! The faithfuls pray mostly to saints and not to Jesus and the Father! (At least in Europe) This is idolatry! I’m a protestant and my grandmother was catholic, so I know also her teaching. The diffrent in europe at least, was, is catholics are not allowed to have THE Bible. And when the pope said homosexuality, GOD also blesses, the lightning struck the Monument of Peter (in the vatican) at the same hour and has now no holy crown, no right hand and no key anymore. Very interesting!! I‘m absolutly not against orthodox and catholics but roman catholics, what my little world perceives, I would not join. Sorry

Glory be to our blessed Lord and God Jesus Christ! Glory be to the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit through the ages! Amen!🙏 Just as Adam and Eve are declared to be ONE FLESH in the holy Scripture so too this is what is declared and proclaimed about the nature of the Son of God and the Father who is the one true God. They are two who possess and share that same nature of that divine essence. They are not two gods but Father and Son possess the same nature just as a son of a human father possesses that not of another nature but of that same nature and also takes into himself the same characteristics and attributes of his own father. He possesses that of his father the human son the nature of humanity. How can humans being billions possess the same humanity as they do? We are all from one flesh being human but yes having differences but nonetheless human dna. The Father and the Son of God also possess according to the revelation of scripture and the witnesses of all the prophets by and through the Holy Spirit from God are of ONE DIVINE NATURE THE TRUE CREATOR AND GOD.
