For example, Bathsheba, Solomon’s mother, interceded with him on behalf of others (1 Kings 2:19-20). This role is seen as a precursor to Mary, the Mother of Jesus, who is also considered the “Queen Mother” in Christian theology, interceding for us in the heavenly court of Christ the King.
The dead rising from their graves when Jesus died (Matthew 27:52-53) and Mary’s Assumption are deeply connected in showing Christ’s victory over sin and death. When Jesus died, the saints who had passed were raised as a sign that death had been conquered. This foreshadowed the resurrection and the promise of eternal life through Christ. Mary’s Assumption is a similar sign. Because she was preserved from original sin (Immaculate Conception) and remained sinless, she was taken up into heaven body and soul as a reward for her perfect faithfulness. Just like the dead rising at Jesus’ death pointed to the future resurrection of all believers, Mary’s Assumption points to the glorification of all faithful Christians. Let me ask you: why do you want The Mother of God to be defiled by sin? Would you not rather have a mother preserved from sin yet the most humble and sanctified creature ever made? “In Luke 1:28, when Gabriel greets Mary as “full of grace,” the Greek word used is “kecharitōmenē”, which comes from “charis” (grace, favor). Not from Mary! The brothers and sisters were those also from Galilee. Read Tobit chapters 7 and 8 for the use of "brother" and "sister" in ancient Israel.
Some of your "brothers" come up again in the Gospels with a different Mother named Mary. Mark 15:40 There were also women looking on afar off: among whom was Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James the less and of Joses, and Salome; 41 (Who also, when he was in Galilee, followed him, and ministered unto him;) and many other women which came up with him unto Jerusalem. Mathew 27:55 And there were there many women afar off, who had followed Jesus from Galilee, ministering unto him: 56 Among whom was Mary Magdalen, and Mary the mother of James and Joseph, and the mother of the sons of Zebedee. John 19:25 Now there stood by the cross of Jesus his mother, and his mother's sister, Mary the wife of Cleophas, and Mary Magdalene. Notice Mary at the cross is listed first among the women named Mary. Mary Mother of James and Joseph(Joses) is named after Mary Magdalene. And she apparently followed Jesus. Also at the Cross Jesus gives His Mother to John's protection. If Jesus had physical brothers this would be their responsibility. John 19:27 Then saith he to the disciple, Behold thy mother! And from that hour that disciple took her unto his own home.
Sam asks why would (non-Catholic) Christians would be offended if Mary was included in the group of redeemed saints for 1000-year millennium and beyond. I have to say this is a silly question, no one would be offended and of course we (non-Catholics) believe Mary will indeed be included in this group. But to extrapolate and use twisted theology gymnastics that (1) she did not sinned as all humans have, and (2) she has ascended to Heaven, when the Bible is fully silent on this subject, is just human imagination. And more than just imagination, these gymnastics have of course the goal of justifying why Catholics ADORE (not venerate) the virgin Mary as a goddess, they make her a co-redeemer with Christ! This is not only heresy, it is BLASPHEMY against the Godhead. I personally feel that the virgin Mary was indeed a "favored one" as Gabriel called her in his greeting, and she was a very pious young woman. I have no doubts that as the mother of Jesus she may very well have a special place in Heaven, after Jesus' second coming, but I believe the reason is Bible is totally silent on her is on purpose, because Jesus of course knew she would be deified and this would be wrong.
@eduardodelarosa7404 God saved her from original sin. Mary experiences a fullness of sanctifying Grace (that Adam and Eve had also experienced prior to their disobedience).
@eduardodelarosa7404 Mary experiences the fullest understanding of every virtue, as God had originally intended for us all. Unlike Adam and Eve, she remains at enmity with Satan.
@eduardodelarosa7404 I imagine that most young women in Roman controlled Jerusalem were isolated and well protected by their families. Educated at home, brought together with larger family groups seven times a year for the convocations.
But Sam, you're asking us to assume why God wouldnt in advance give Mary a crown of eternal life before the resurrection. Do I believe it to be impossible? No, however I also have to look at scripture and realize there isnt a single mention of this having occurred. Moses we know is in heaven, Elijah we know is in heaven, the saint who were killed for Christ are in heaven, however we do not see that Mary is heaven yet according to what we can READ. Again I dont see it as impossible just stating a fact.
Undeniable proof Mary had more than one child. Matthew 13:53-57 When Jesus had finished these parables, he moved on from there. 54 Coming to his hometown, he began teaching the people in their synagogue, and they were amazed. “Where did this man get this wisdom and these miraculous powers?” they asked. 55 “Isn’t this the carpenter’s son? Isn’t his mother’s name Mary, and aren’t his brothers James, Joseph, Simon and Judas? 56 Aren’t all his sisters with us? Where then did this man get all these things?” 57 And they took offense at him.
Actually, the term “brothers” in this passage comes from the Greek word adelphoi, which doesn’t just mean biological siblings-it can also mean close relatives like cousins. Back then, Aramaic (the language Jesus spoke) didn’t have a specific word for cousin, so “brother” was used more broadly. Plus, if Mary had other kids, why would Jesus give her to John at the cross (John 19:26-27) instead of one of his “brothers”? This fits with the Catholic belief in Mary’s perpetual virginity-it’s all about understanding the cultural and linguistic context of the time.
@@MichaelHowardMonroe it's blatantly obvious Mary and Joseph had other sons and daughters, as stated ,open your eyes ,look for yourself , let your own brain God gave you work it out ,not what the lying deceiving pope and papacy has led you all to believe. Was Mary born with a sinful nature? The purpose of Jesus coming in a human body was to have a human experience. Part of the human experience is to understand temptation. To know what it's like to be vulnerable and tempted to sin. Jesus had to know what that like through experience which is why he was tempted 3 times. Just of the eyes, just of the flesh, and pride of life. We are all born with a sinful nature. Jesus being human felt the temptation, but being God could not sin. So talking about people that are mentally delayed and babies, is pretty irrelevant because to be born with a sinful nature is what we all come into this world in.
From a Catholic perspective, claiming that Mary was born with a sinful nature creates a theological slippery slope that could suggest Jesus Himself inherited a sinful nature. Since Jesus took His human nature entirely from Mary, if she were tainted by original sin, this would logically compromise the sinlessness of Christ’s humanity. This contradicts Scripture, which affirms that Jesus was “like us in all things but sin” (Hebrews 4:15), and it undermines the Church’s understanding of the hypostatic union-Jesus as fully human and fully divine. The doctrine of the Immaculate Conception resolves this issue by affirming that Mary was preserved from original sin from the moment of her conception, through the merits of Christ’s future sacrifice. Far from diminishing Christ’s redemptive work, this doctrine highlights His power to save completely, even preemptively. Suggesting that Jesus required a sinful nature to experience temptation misunderstands the nature of temptation itself. Jesus, being fully human, could experience temptation externally (Matthew 4:1-11), but His divine nature ensured He was not subject to concupiscence or internal inclination to sin. Without the Immaculate Conception, one risks compromising the integrity of Christ’s sinlessness, His unique role as the spotless Lamb of God, and the perfect harmony of God’s salvific plan.
@MichaelHowardMonroe I like how you explained it, now though He did not sin He also became sin as the 2 (Corinthians 5:21) So how did this happen? 21 "For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God." According to Catholic doctrine this would be impossible since Mary would be sinless therefore according to what I'm understanding and I can be wrong Jesus inherited a sinless nature not because He's begotten of the Father but through Mary, now here it shows that though He didn't sin, He became sin....how's that fit into the teaching?
@@danielj.rodriguez1183 are you suggesting Jesus sinned on the cross when he became sin? Taking on the sins of the world does not imply he sinned yet he was tempted in every way we are.
@MichaelHowardMonroe that's obviously what I'm not implying, the English pretty much says what happened. I don't think this verse needs any translation. To be frank yes you would have to go outside to make sense of Jesus divinity and the way my religion teacher put it, Mary had to have not been born with a sinful nature so that Jesus wouldn't sin. The human corruptive body has the ability to carry Sin even if the person never commits it. Case in point infant baptisim. Which is why catholics baptize infants because of them trying to understand the notion of original sin thinking that if babies aren't baptized though they have not sinned can end up in hell because of the sinful nature. You definitely need to go outside of biblical text into human understanding to come to what is more of a conclusion versus Divine revelation. That's pretty much it.
Mary was Not a sinner! She is the Immaculate Conception- the sinless Mother of God, Jesus Christ. ❤😊❤

@ are you familiar with what took place at the Council of Ephesus in 431 A.D?
Mary was a sinner like the rest of us.
Nope
@@Hail_Theotokos Mary and the Scriptures say so.
@@Spartanthermopylaenope
No. She was fully human and the Ark of Salvation, in which Christ dwelt.
If Mary was a sinner, then why did God the father chose her to be the mother of His beloved Son? Why the Word made flesh through her?
