Cannon Shmannon...As the consumers of the Star Trek product line, we decide individually what is and is not cannon. Despite it's minimal animation style (a signature of low budget television cartoons of the time) I quite enjoy this show, and like any Star Trek series, some episodes seem cannonical wihile others are decidedly not (James H Kirk, I'm talking to you.). The above example of non-cannon is from "Where No Man Has Gone Before" - absolutely a cannonical episode otherwise. So I say, who cares what a bunch of people I've never met think, I'll decide what belongs in MY Star Trek mythos and what gets rejected (Picard & Discovery, with Voyager teetering on the periphery*). * It IS cannon that a ship named Voyager got thrown into the Delta quadrant and made its way home thanks to Reg Barclay, but nothing that takes place in between those events is cannon in my mind, because no other Star Trek series has an auto-regenerative ship that self-repairs between episodes.

I am old enough that I Remember the night that the MOVIE was first shown on ABC Movie of the Week ! At the time - it was THE scariest thing made for TV. When the TV Guide announced that The Night Stalker would be a SERIES - I was THRILLED . I was also thrilled that - that 1974 season Planet of the Apes (the TV series) was making its debut ALSO ON FRIDAY NIGHT! Apes was 8PM. Kolchak was 10PM. I actually remember thinking "what will I do during that HOUR between the 2 shows?" LOL. I knew FRIDAY was going to be "my TV night". Apes was cancelled right before Christmas. Kolchak was doing badly in the ratings . Some of the episodes were less than thrilling (the Energy Eater, the Cathy Lee Crosby episode, the Werewolf on the Love Boat, Mr. RING, The Knight ) . But there were GREAT episodes The Ripper , The Spanish Moss monster , the Vampire, The Trevi Collection , The Zombie. I even liked the headless motorcycle rider and The Sentry. The show was VERY CHEAP but the vibe was right . The guest stars were FUN . Many of you were too young for the 1974 run and only remember the CBS Late Night 1979 Run. It did get a "new life" back then.

I enjoyed the snark of this review. But come on.. the dislike of the classroom stories..you must be a jaded teacher. I found the writing to be stronger and tighter than the Six Million Dollar Man and I agree- Lindsey carried the show. The classroom setting in the earlier episodes grounded the show and was a obvious attempt to appeal to kids. I liked the duality of her character and her teacher identity reinforced the idea that she was new to agent work. I completely agree with your must see list. However, I enjoyed Fly Jamie and I found Bobby with her Mrs. Olsen braid to be a hout. I didn't see the Steve Austin version but I'm almost sure it was inferior. While the second season had more dazzle, the first season was all soul.

Lee Majors in the 70's and 80's...woof. Just found your channel. Great job! keep it up. I agree with the opening. I like the beginning of the intro, a great driving beat but when it goes legato its just not that interesting. I would recognize it anywhere but, eh. I think the reason they often put a beauty contest or event in the shows was just to put the characters in gowns and all hair and make up to the max. I have to admit I like rewatching the fashion and hair of the day. Its just nice to look at.

The Season 2 theme is not bad, it's catchy and somewhat interesting. But the music cues and stingers now sound incredibly cliche The Season 1 theme is excellent--as are the subtle and interesting music cues, the modern flute music underscoring Balor fighting with Alpha security is one of the best examples.

Jamie didn't have a mean streak either. She didn't have a war face like Austin. She didn't have a warrior stance like Wonder Woman. She didn't have an all consuming rage with The Incredible Hulk. Throughout the series, Lindsay Wagner lobbied that the Bionic Woman would not kill anyone, deeply wound anyone, become hostile. She used her bionic strength as a last resort. She often found herself talking the bad guys out of it instead of whooping them with her super powers.

I loved the opening of the Bionic Woman, the theme song written by Jerry Fielding. Jamie was NOT...a grim military man and astronaut like Steve Austin with training and conditioning to help him accept his new bionic powers and move into doing cloak and dagger missions....also to fight and die for his country. Jamie was NOT....an artificial life form Amazon Warrior like Wonder Woman, with a fighting and justice tradition. She was just a regular girl who found one day that she had super powers because of boyfriend Steve Austin. Never trained for it. Had no former occupation to help her segue' to having super powers and conducting dangerous missions for the government. I like the duality of the theme that baited you into believing she was a super hero.....then int denoued into this ballad....about a frail gentle vulnerable soul.....just a girl teaching school to her children...the sensitive side.... then right at the end....the music becomes foreboding....reminding you.....that she has a gentle vulnerable side....contending with this superpower and dangerous government mission she never expected.....having to embrace her super hero future.

Shatner had contempt for the animated series. It was reported he would record his lines while he was on location on other projects while sitting on the toilet.

OMG this was so spot on! Those last two seasons are pretty bad but the 3rd season is especially bad! Ugh. I remember watching it as a kid thinking “ man this show is weird now and where is Wonder Woman? It’s like she forgot she even had the ability to turn into her!

Could you do a review of series Fantastic Journey. This 1970s Sci-fi Adventure series featured Jarad Martin and Rodney McDowell as part of a group people get lost in Bermuda Triangle. They're time travelers alternative Earth history. Jared Martin is from 2300 Century Rodney McDowell plays a corrupt Scientist from 1960s.

You’re right this season is awful. Especially the episode with those Twins from Hee Haw! Ugh. I have all 3 seasons on DVD and the only episodes I watch are Fembots in Las Vegas

@@joemanzo4453 Right? Though I do like the final episode, I just wish they'd actually had the courage of their convictions to go through with the original ending. Fembots are always fun, though!

You're short documentary was solid. I'm a child of the 70s and will watch just about anything 70s related and I have to admit your video was well done without all the 'bells and whistles' of today's technology. I thoroughly enjoyed something simple and that to me was the beauty of this work. 5:08 is a perfect example of your humour. The jump from the previous cut and music to the theme from the tv serires 'Soap' made me laugh - solid 💯!

When you print your snide remarks on screen, can you please leave them there fir more than two seconds? Maybe I'm just slow, but im getting tired of having to constantly rewind, to read the comment again. Thank you.

Fred freiberger was a final season/jump the shark specialist. If you want your show to come to an end, give him a call.

S99 ran Saturday evenings where I lived, which was our family "pizza night" at the time. We'd get a huge take-out pizza, and all gather around our only TV (this was 1975), to watch the show. For some reason I've forgotten, my mom and brother also enjoyed the show, whereas I was the only one who liked Star Trek. Anyway, S99 always takes me back to those Saturday evenings munching pizza in our family room. The downside of us enjoying it together was that unlike with TOS, I couldn't record the audio on my little tape recorder, because we were all talking and eating the whole time... ;)
