I'm reading horror stories regarding CRNA school.. I got all As and 1 B in RN school ,but I am still doubting myself . I kept my face in the books all the time. How much harder is CRNA than RN?

Thank you so much for posting this video. I'm a first semester nursing student with the desire to become an ICU nurse and have gained so much insight and encouragement from this video, especially the parts about "ego death" and "stop worrying about yourself being good enough and perfect and worrying more about the care you provide". Thank you for this shift in focus. I needed that.

I just changed from stepdown to ICU, and yes, im struggling too.... people can be very mean, but I've learned to stay strong and resilient.... but i know it can be tiring. Learning a new skill/unit sucks.

I loved nursing. The teacher that introduced me to nursing told me not to choose nursing if I was just wanting to make money. So I went into nursing for the right reasons. I became a nurse because I love caring for people. However I’m not getting vaccinated for Covid. Do you think I should bother going back into nursing or I’ll never be able to nurse again because I don’t believe in the whole covid vaccination order?

Travel nursing, registry, and remote jobs in digital marketing or data analytics is where it’s at. I’ll never go back to staff nursing. There’s no need to go to NP or CRNA school unless that’s your passion.

Which scrubs are these? & yes, in my experience, cvicu pressor picks are very different from the other critical care spaces. For instance, Levophed (which works on both alpha & beta receptors & is a first line pressor for sepsis) is prominent in micu/sicu but not so much in cvicu; neo may be a better pick for cardiac pts. PACU on the other hand sees all the pressors

Rural anesthesia is amazing…always loved being in the OR at these smaller community hospitals. The majority of the hospitals in the rural southeast are CRNA only where they QZ every case, and you see everything from births to bread and butter cases to severe traumas you have to stabilize to ship to a larger level 1 center.

About the army reserves: you have a much higher chance of a war zone deployment with them. Active duty will get you deployed, but it’s often green zones (ie safer areas in a war zone.) All of my friends that went the reserve route have found themselves imbedded with the SOF community doing battlefield surgeries on injured special forces guys. The deployments are only 90 days in country, but one friend in particular just got back from his 11th deployment to combat. Most of those were to Iraq and Afghanistan, but the last few found him imbedded with French allies fighting terrorist in Africa. Blue side navy is the way to go if you want to do military.

The University of Southern Mississippi in H’burg, MS, is relatively cheap. I still had friends and mentors getting out of there with $300K+ in loans. That program also periodically requires you to move throughout the entire state of MS. I personally preferred being able to do all of my clinicals in one city.

Watched this video and immediately subscribed. Great content. Almost all of this info I have already stumbled across in my research of the profession but hearing it all from one source and from two people with first hand experience is awesome. Really validates me in the path I am on now. I am a 10+ year paramedic and trying to get into a bridge to ADN program. From there the plan is to try to get a new grad nurse program in Northern California to gain a few years of experience, finish BSN and then apply to CRNA schools. I have a long road ahead of me but knowing that I can only really top out at $40 per hour as a paramedic is a huge motivation.

As a new graduate RN working in PICU, I’m struggling to adapt to the environment as it’s sooo different from the wards and we see things that have never been talked about in nursing school. I really love caring for peds and the seeing difference we make in ICU so I wanna get better and more efficient as a member of the team. This video rlly hit strong points of the struggles I’ve experienced in ICU (time management, getting flustered with tasks, the judgey coworkers…). I think this video rlly helped me greatly and will always return to it when I need a reminder😊 thanks so much !
