The Chieftain Gaming
United States
Приєднався 13 лис 2011
The Chieftain sometimes likes to blow off digital steam, but doesn't want to dilute his serious military channel. Games will almost entirely be simulators or strategy. Maybe a bit of RTS if I'm pushing it. Most anything goes except for direct competitors to my employer: I can't imagine they'd appreciate it. Also on the 'unlikely' side of things are anime dating games and first-person shooters. On the more likely side of things, Steel Beasts, Gunner Heat PC, Train Sim, Wargame, Regiments, Combat Mission, Command: MO, Armored Brigade, Transport Fever, and likely some other stuff
DCS, UH-1, Paradise Lost M7: Shooting back
You'll be back in the right seat for this one, so be sure to assign controls or know the key combos for the AI, either as a gunner or as a pilot while you gun.
Note much to talk about outside of the scenario on this one, just a little bit on VR headset vs TrackIR.

Before you do this mission, know the hotkeys for the flashlight and the night vision goggles. If night vision existed like this in the 1960s... Not much to talk about, as little can be seen out the window. I suspect you'll be fast-forwarding a lot. Pimax 8KX, OBS (OpenXR Mirror), 7900XTX, Ryzen 9 5900X

A game still in early access, but unlike many games, this one is plenty worth playing already. Run a 1950s short line in Appalachia, based on the Murphy Branch of North Carolina. The focus here is on delivering freight cars to their final destinations, not on running the trains (You can, if you really want to, but I wouldn't. There are better sims for that). The economy is basic, but serviceabl...

Topics discussed include trying to get shot at, correct radio procedure, why I didn't join the Navy, and how experience is a terrible teacher. This is a new tile-based turn-based game set in Normandy, 1944. Seems like a good enough way to waste away a few hours, but it's still in early access/demo mode so there's time for improvement in the mechanics yet.

A narrated tour through the Irish countryside starts with an evening commuter service out of Heuston station as far Portlaoise. As the trains travel along, discussions will include local points of interest, Irish railway history and rolling stock. It's 260km, incidentally, to Cork, not 260 miles. Annoyingly, it works out to about 160miles. The route, Dublin to Limerick, Cork and Tralee, can be ...

For anyone that's interested in a cheaper head tracking solution. I use an app called smoothtrack on my phone that's then paired with opentrack on the pc. Works every bit as good as Trackir for a tenths of the cost. I can't remember exactly how much it cost, but it was less then €15,-.
The AI gunner logic definitely needs work. It takes way too long for them to acquire a target, and when they do engage it’s not what you were hoping there’d shoot at. lol I gave up with the trucks once they stoped I landed next next to them nose on and the just sucked up the mini guns like a sponge
Getting an idea of why the AH-1 was the better gunship than the UH-1B/C, a chin turret mount better to move than moving the big Volkswagen bus of the Huey chassis around for gun runs.
Wait a minute. Wolfpack345? What are you doing here?
2:36 To answer your question, I have never heard the word "Coupe" pronounced with the "e" at the end. Granted, I live in Alberta so it could be different in Quebec. However I've only ever heard the American pronunciation of the word here in Western Canada.
Nice flying Colonel! The games slightly better than Gunship🙂 Are you allowed to play tank games other than WoT? *Cough*WarThunder*Cough*
I've missed these. I do enjoy listening to you playing games almost as much as I enjoy your normal content. I'm glad you had enough free time to get some gaming in.
FINALLY part 2 is out i was hoping the ie 201 class or a intercity run but very cool with a GSR 800
Admittedly, I'm pretty novice when it comes to steam locos, but a few observations: You're better than Hyce is on the brakes. Which is ironic since the guy literally operates locos in preservation. (I guess in video games he's a bit more ADHD or something. lol) The blower should only be used when stationary, or just starting out, to keep a draft on the fire (and the thus boiler pressure). Once you start to get steady chuffs, you should shut the blower off. Otherwise you're just wasting steam. Speaking of wasting steam, you really love to pop that safety! (Which IRL would be hella loud.) Lastly, you're technically supposed to put the reverser full forwards when coasting or braking. It causes unnecessary wear on the loco otherwise. (I suppose it matters less here, but meh...)
Passengers be like, "Sorry baby, you wouldn't believe how late the train was."
Glad you found some time for this again =)
Lovely video. At one point you mention and old route long gone, and suggest sat view or flight simulator to see more. That gave me an idea. Would you like to do more tours like this using the flight sim? There should be more than enough sites to visit and talk about, in Ireland and all over the world, with all degrees of historical significance, or just places you have interesting stories about.
Enjoyed having this playing while on HOI
I was expecting a full rendition of "It's a Long Way to Tipperary" at one point.
20:15 What is the citation for your Irish neutrality article?
finally! but, where's the maquis to dynamite the tracks? oops - wrong movie!
I am so disappointed you can't do the Dublin to Galway, Dublin to Belfast and Belfast to Derry routes on this.
I rather enjoy these, perfect relaxed watching while learning a couple things.
I hope the real-world Irish railway service doesn't have a yearlong layover in Portlaoise.
At this point it wouldn't surprise me
Oh my goodness, that's No 800. I didn't think there was a model of her drivable in train sim, it's nice to see one of the trio of 800's thundering across the Irish countryside.
No pass-through vision? Weird, even my like 8 year old cheapass $200 samsung had that. It was a bitch to get to but it was there.
Can you add another car, 5 to order, 3 left behind?
Hang your door sized layout from your guest bedroom ceiling. Just lower it for use, then raise it back up when done.
Fair idea.
Scramble: Battle of Britain might be of interest to you Chieftain, as it's a turn-based fighter combat game. It's on early access though. Second Front also seems interesting, it's a WW2 turn-based tactical strategy game (doesn't say much, I know). Anyways, happy to see you back in action!
Is dublin to cork pt 2 coming soon?
I appreciate 4K quality. Nice vid.
This is an absolute shot in the dark but would you have any way to contact Brendan? I'm hoping to make some Irish content for train sim and would love some pointers as to how!
Did you read my comment on how to do it?
@@Augustus6809-g7i Bro did you read my comment? I'm not looking to install it I'm looking to contact the creator
@@joe-x5v2m Wanna know how to email Brendan? Go onto The Chieftain Gaming you should see the man's email click it and then start messaging him on how do I message your dad but the man is very busy with his military duty going on so he might not reply for the next few days but just be patience he'll forward you to his dad
I did not see any email, but he's right. Email me, I'll connect with my dad.
If you could somehow fit a PVS14 between your eye and the eyepiece of the headset, would it brighten the image?
Chieftain will you do a video on the development of The Astra Militarum’s armored doctrine from 30,000-40,000, just like the World War 2 series videos?
Glad to see you're back at this. I really enjoy all of your content. And no I didn't fast forward any of the video.
Been missing this. Thank you.
Fish outta water and in the skies.
"I suspect you'll be fast-forwarding a lot." you suspect wrong 😅
New Chieftain gameplay, it truly is the Christmas season!
I have a large L-shaped desk (each limb is 9’ x 3’) in my home office (I work remote) that I built myself. Made a 3.5” deep cavity under the desk tops (which hinge open) with a large n scale layout in progress inside. When needed, I can hinge open my desk and I’ve got an elaborate Union Pacific/CNW branch line set in the 1990’s Chicago of my youth. No space taken up that wasn’t already in use. No one complaining that im taking space. Love it.
For those need help on the Dublin to Cork route these tips will help you to play the route 1 Have Steam installed on your PC 2 Install Train Sim Classic 2024 3 Download the Assets and the two RWP files 4 These are the required DLC's Woodhead Line , Cajon Pass , Isle Of Wight , Weardale Teesdale , European loco and Asset Pack and US loco and Asset pack at least have one of these DLC's 5 Place the (Assets) 60 sub folder into the Assets folder Programs 86 , Steam , Steamapps , Common , Railworks , Assets 6 Go into the Railworks folder and scroll downn until you see Utilities.exe and run that program and once you opened it click on Package Manager and click install 7 Launch Train Sim Classic 2024 and Clear Cache 8 The route will work but you see a number of bridges missing occasionally gaps Hope these tips help!
It helps to an extent but I’m just having trouble understanding what you mean by 60 sub folder and what do we do at utilities.exe? Actually could you please make a video on this?
@@lakengrendon6636 Utilities.exe is a program to install RWP/ RWK files such as the route that your issuing now go to package manager then click install once your on the file explorer that automatically opens find the route where you put it in you should able to see the route in the explorer and the question what is the 60 sub folder its basically all the 60 asset folders in the asset folder. I cannot make a video without a microphone I'm very terrible of editing so you might want to contact Brendan. I'm sorry that i cannot be more helpful
PLEASE MAKE A DETAILED VIDEO ON HOW TO INSTALL ALL ASSETS CORRECTLY. PREVIOUSLY, I HAD NO PROBLEMS SETTING THE ROUTE, EVERYTHING WAS REFLECTED CORRECTLY. I CAN'T FIGURE IT OUT RIGHT NOW.FRIEND, HELP ME AND OTHER GUYS WHO FIND IT DIFFICULT TO INSTALL THE GAME CORRECTLY..DUBLIN CORK IS THE MOST BEAUTIFUL AND FAVORITE ROUTE OF ALL THE TAIN SIMULATOR. WE WILL BE VERY, VERY GRATEFUL TO YOU IF YOU HELP US INSTALL THE GAME CORRECTLY AS IN YOUR VIDEO
Kind man, I really need your help.A lot of guys including I can't install Dublin cork correctly...Everything is set in your video, but how did you manage to do it...I haven't been able to install all the years since Train Simulator 13 until 2024, including train classic, for a week now.Nothing is working out..There is no rail and no grass in the game
Fact checking is non existent. Luas means speed in Irish and Dublin to Cork is 165 1/2 miles. Not 266 miles!
You play for so long then you get OCD and burnout! You can only play so long and open so much of the Railway then it just becomes tooooo much and you need an absolute break for months… it’s micro beyond micro at times especially the passenger trains where you have to click ‘copy to all carriages’ at **every** stop going up and down - tick the station etc, etc.
267km rather than miles. TFI have a yellow and green colour scheme for the latest Dublin buses. Bus Eireann can be blue and yellow if it's operating the latest TFI buses. Kishogue has indeed opened since the video was made.
During my time playing Combat Mission, I have come across many scenarios that most people considered to be impossible, or at least unlikely. I made a habit of destroying such scenarios with extreme prejudice, because the one thing you must always remember: You are not fighting the enemy force, you are fighting the scenario designer themselves. Beating one person is a heck of a lot easier than beating an entire enemy force. 🤣
The yellow on the bus is for high visability as DB were concerned that blue may blend in with the sky when you are on the ground
Luas means speed, solas would be "light".
bollocks. You're right. It's been a few years.
also what locos dmus etc are included in this route?
hey could you please make a video on how to install this i think i did it right i put installed the Dublin to Cork, Limerick to Tralee.rwp in package manager and also Dublin to Cork_Limerick to Tralee.rwp is there anything else i need or am i just doing this wrong? please help and any response is appreciated
Needs to be a IÉ 201 and mark 4 set
8 minutes in and switching off
I have always wanted a rail way management game that has switching and such in it, instead of it being magically handled like it is in transport fever or similar games. This looks like it might be it.
