John DiMarco
Приєднався 14 жов 2011
Hi, I'm John DiMarco, and welcome to our channel! I love Jesus and my family, who you may see occasionally pop in to play some games or just be goofy. I'm a sci-fi nerd, particularly in regards to classic Star Trek and The Orville. I'm also a fan of SeaQuest DSV, from which I learned that Darwin the Dolphin is the best!

Permission to speak freely?

Mr. Kyle

During Captain Kirk's five-year mission, Mr. Kyle was a vital member of the Enterprise crew. You would usually find him saving the day in the transporter room, although on occasion you could also see him filling in at the helm or the science station. This video features the appearances of Mr. Kyle in The Original Series, The Animated Series, and a cameo in Star Trek II. In live action, Mr. Kyle...

Gowron's Eyes: The Next Generation
Zoë tells us that the Nebula class is Starfleet’s hatchback. The first USS Milton (RP ship sans pareil) was a Nebula class until its untimely destruction. The Milton A is a Sutherland class. Woof!
Nebula Class is one of my favourite ships. I also liked the Sutherland class from Star Trek Picard. But they took that ship from Star Trek online.
So thats where First officer Ellis De Wald is hiding all this time. Somebody let Axel Foley know.
Sweet ending with Horatio Hornblower. Thanks, John.
Damn all these warp core breaches 😂
i swear to god everything in the star trek universe is a cruiser.... these are BATTLESHIPS
"Well, it's the safest way, isn't it?" :-D
Great way to travel, I wouldn’t have the you know what’s to try it!
garak had the best liners until tyrion. before th show ruined him.
"We're a most promising species Mr. Spock, as predators go..." The quote I believe summarizes humanity, and Starfleet the most eloquently: Yeah we can be better, but compared to the competition, we're not half bad.
Thanks for the breakdown! Just a quick off-topic question: My OKX wallet holds some USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (air carpet target dish off jeans toilet sweet piano spoil fruit essay). What's the best way to send them to Binance?
Why don't you go pester Doctor McCoy for a while?
Doctor McCoy is not in the best of moods.
looks like you've managed to cut off our only escape route..........
Perhaps you'd like to get back in your cell, Your Highness.
Thanks for another Great compilation, John, and it’s not even Thursday. I am reminded of Jean-Luc Picard and ‘his personal horse saddle’…
Garek has a point , as usual .
T'POL: "Optimism doesn't alter the laws of physics." No, T'Pol, it doesn't. It's not meant to. However, optimism will make us more alert to unexpected remedies and more successful in creative problem-solving. As your fellow Vulcan, Spock, was fond of saying, "There are always possibilities."
Like so many things continually beating the dead horse that Star Trek is now, this trope is WAY overused and I now cringe every time I'm forced to hear it!
OMG that f'kin ending was so good! Picard Kirk Archer so good
2:47 and 3:27 Dukat: I should have left you on that street corner where you were standing Garak: But you didn't!
Plain, simple Garak. A humble tailor!
Towards the end of DS9 I was growing tired of the Defiant and it's indestructible plot armour. Other federation ships were being destroyed after one hit
Where is my Queen?
ahh the sounds of torpedoes firing has to be the one of the most inconsistent things in all of trek!
There is no truth to the rumor that Kukalaka is coocoo for Cocoa Puffs.
I was going to post about how this is one of the worst plot devices they managed to come up with until I remembered Jenny , my own teddy bear . Now I think it is pure genius . lol and yes , she is on the shelf in my closet even today .
John DiMarco doing a doco on a soft cuddly teddy bear. I guess it takes one to know one. Fine work, JDM!
So even an augment can have a teddy bear. I wonder if Khan has one. Nah. 🙂
And yet they helped each other when the Klingons attacked the station.
Firey explosios in space where there is no oxygen, How is that even possible?🤔
LT. WORF: Permission to speak freely, sir? CAPTAIN PICARD: Granted. LT. WORF: Duras must not be allowed to lead the council. CAPTAIN PICARD: He has a legal claim, Mr. Worf. Your personal feelings toward him. LT. WORF: It is not personal, sir. His father betrayed my people to the Romulans. Duras is a traitor. CAPTAIN PICARD: Klingon tradition may hold the son responsible for his father's sin. I cannot. Treason was his father's crime. Duras' crime was to lay that blame on your father. I will not forget that, but you should not forget that you chose to accept the consequences of that lie. LT. WORF: To preserve the Empire. CAPTAIN PICARD: The issue now is whether or not he killed K'mpec. LT. WORF: Sir? CAPTAIN PICARD: He was murdered. Poisoned. LT. WORF: A Klingon would not use poison. His murder would have no honor. CAPTAIN PICARD: K'mpec believed that it was either Duras or Gowron. LT. WORF: Well, I know little of Gowron. Only that he is an outsider who has often challenged the Council. But Duras? I know him. His heart is not Klingon.
Really loving the editing in your videos, switching between episodes and scenes, to really tell a story. Nicely done, John!
Thanks!
Personally I like TWOKs Red Alert the most, especially after Kirk is beamed up from Regula 1.
Fun fact:- for years after Voyager on certain days, Kate Melgrew would get a crust cover cake... a Janeway Pie
"She's ready, Jim! Lock 'n load!"
The answer should be NO way more often. NO, See to your Duties and save your feelings for the ships Councilor. DISMISSED
Permission to pee sneakily?
Permission to speak freaky?
Granted.
Wait what? Nazi aliens? Am I watching the History Channel or something?
Rikers "Brace for Impact" in Generations was the best.
I cannot believe DS9 was only like 20 seconds long. The sheer amount of "...you want to do WHAT, sir?" situations
So is "permission to speak freely" just another way to say "with all due respect?" Which is another way to say "kiss my ass."
Not the same.
It's more like "I'm asking my superior to talk about something through my personal perspective instead of as a [insert rank here]"
It's a way of asking if your commanding officer cares yo hear what you have to say. There's been moments where the permission has been denied, when the captain is certain of their decision and does not want feedback.
Mr Kyle never thought the transporter room would be so dangerous. So, he asked for a transfer to the bridge where he was never knocked unconscious again.
He was 1 of the rare Background characters that stole the show.
Love this. Both Kirstie Alley and Kim Cattrall included 👏👏. Lower Decks is so sad. The only other phrase fraught with such ‘danger’ Is ‘all due respect’😊
I like this video.
I see not many people wanted to ask sisko if they could speak freely except maybe Dax who did it without asking
@@coolluke1992 They know better than to test The Sisko's patience.
You should NEVER speak freely in a uniformed service, even when given permission.
Rubbish.
I defer to your expertise on this subject.
Wouldn't recommend it with Capt. Jellico, that's for sure.
@DarinRWagner If you have information that could benefit your supetior. It is your duty to pass it on. To allow he or she to make the best decision possible. Or at least offer to. If not good leadership is impossible. This kind of th8nking leaves to mistakes and tyrannical cover-ups. The response, I was just following orders is no longer enough, should things go south. Service people have a responsibility to do better.
@@davidsmith5523 That's not what "speak freely" means.
Allegedly made from blue Gatorade! We had a bottle of it recently and it felt kind of cool to walk around with a tall glass of it!
McCoy with the liver shot.
"John DiMarco" the bible verse at the end of your video was unnecessary and unwanted. Keep your religion to yourself. The rest of the world does NOT revolve around Christianity or the Holier than thou and sanctimonious American Empire. I am sick and tired of having my intelligence insulted by the same old repetitive cheap talk about a being who needs ignorant people to speak for him since he is unable to speak for himself. Plus your little friend Jesus has not been seen or heard from in over 2,000 years. If anyone needs a savior it is non-christians (such as myself) who need to be saved from Christian Cultists.
What about Flashback, the one where Tuvok & Janeway met Sulu? Didn’t Janeway & Tuvok, or Kim mention the Enterprise, with Janeway saying ‘the whole lot of them would be booted out of Starfleet today.’
Oddly enough, the Enterprise is never mentioned in that episode.
