We are looking for a place to retire. I retired on federal retirement. On permanent disability. It is to cold for us in Kentucky. We looked at Florida, but to experience for us. We know nothing about Alabama. Exploring options at this time.

People need to realize that when they sign a contact to build a house, the purchaser is required to send payments at intervals set out in the contract (usually down pmt., foundation complete, framing complete, drywall/plaster complete, final, etc) and it DOES NOT matter how poor that work was done, you still have to pay. The builders warranty is WORTHLESS. They have your money and NO incentive to honor the warranty.

Hi Cameron, my husband and I are looking to move to N AL from the Tampa area. We are in the process of renting a home (March move in) on Green Mountain so we can navigate the area to decide where to buy or build. We were nervous about renting without knowing the area but your last video really helped us out. We would love to discuss the rental area and potential home locations when you have time. We will also be heading up there within the next couple of weeks to view the property in person and sign necessary paperwork. Perhaps we can get together during our time there as well.

I'm looking at Huntsville as a possible relocation, Arizona is great but expensive. I've delt with Tornadoes in Colorado Springs when I lived there.

No! NO! The drive to New Market was for years graced with pastoral scenes of crops, streams, and grazing land. No more. Practically every inch of the “farm land” is being covered with ugly, box-like, cheap housing. These thousands of houses are incomplete, unoccupied, but already (late 2024) the traffic is horrendous. Now wait awhile. Did I mention that there’s a serious executive airport in the middle of this, and noise is high. They service the military Osprey aircraft, which is hyper noisy. Try the Harvest area, or perhaps Lacey’s Spring.

Your video is perfect timing for this retired couple, we've learned so much from your YT channel. We are planning to come up from Florida early next month to do some looking around. We've decided the insurance crisis, home prices, HOA troubles, lack of healthcare and services along with constant fears of flooding and hurricanes are just too much. We are currently renting a home here and our plan was to buy. However, after less than two years of living in FL we have decided to change direction and are very interested in northern AL. We are currently searching for a place to stay for a week or so while we navigate the area. We have two pups and would like to find a safe, nice little place in a convenient location if you have any suggestions please let me know.

I’ve lived in both…. There are a lot more simularities than differences…. IMO Huntsville is much more diverse than Greenville. Greenville’s downtown area is NICE NICE and Huntsville is actually using Greenville’s model in its downtown master plan. For me outside of Greenville’s downtown the city is very boring, whereas Huntsville has much more to do outside the downtown area. I enjoyed my 3 years living in Greenville but much prefer Huntsville over the two. It’s way more and better opportunities for making good money in Huntsville. I met some highly educated people in Greenville who would living much better financially in Huntsville.

What is the healthcare system like in Alabama? Especially Huntsville. I’m looking to relocate from California. I am a disabled Medicare patient.

Anybody have any info on the medical marijuana law in Alabama? Moving from California and use it to help deal with my pain from a severe illness. Definitely don’t want to go back to using narcotics, but I’m finding it hard to find updated information. I saw they passed the medical marijuana bill several years ago, but as far as I can tell, no one has access to it? Any info is greatly appreciated.
