Years ago, my friend was moving from Mississippi to SC (where I live). Her husband was already here working. So I packed up my 4 year old and my 6 week old and headed to MS. We spent the month out there with her, her 2 year old, and 5 week old (LOL) packing up the house and shopping and just existing. It was great fun and made the chore of packing and moving more feasible for her!

Hi Karla and Julie! In my recent move I felt like the proportion of boxes that were labeled “craft room” vs other rooms was really high, lol

Honestly, Karla, I’m so excited for this move for you. As physically difficulty as moving can be, I think you are doing a wonderful job. I’ve watched you forever and never miss a video, so you doing this is great as it’s like keeping in touch with a friend. I can’t wait to see what crafting is like for you in the new place. I believe once you start doing it again it will have a mind of its own and you’ll be ‘back in the saddle”. Do what you need to do now and take it slow. It will all be worth it! 😊

Hi Karla, I am glad you posted an update. You are doing so good with taking your time and packing. Remember, you are still working and doing other things while moving so it is a great progress. Think about all the stitchy goods you will be able to get now that you will be saving money. That will help motivate you to start stitching again.

Just go at your own pace and it will all work out, I’m sure. Remember you are making progress !

Hi Karla. I used to get tonsillitis a lot when I was a kid and sore throats as an adult too. I wish they would have taken my tonsils out but my doctor said it was better to leave them in! Anyway I know you don’t feel good because you’re run down from all the work you’re doing. It sounds like you’re paying way too much for cleaning people. I’m not sure if you have this but we have a senior center that has cleaning people as well as other things but the cleaning people are very inexpensive. That’s just a suggestion. I’m glad you’re going to have some help. I’m sure once you’re settled in you’ll pick up your stitching and crocheting-I’m sure of it! Have a good week.

When I am by myself or we are watching TV I need to keep my hands busy. You never know you and your friend may both find you have crafts and things you like to do together ❤️

I feel your pain!! I just moved the beginning of this month after being in my previous apartment for almost 9 years. Also emptied the storage unit of stuff from the previous home of 15 years. Most of that was untouched for 9 years so mostly donated. I love the excitement you have of extra crafting space! I'll admit, I'm enjoying that too. More than double the space I had previously so there is space to keep some stuff out such as the sewing machine and the a diamond painting WIP!! Even though it is a struggle now, it's all worth it in the end!

Moving is very hard on the body take care of yourself, have a packing party😊

Thank you so much for the update on the moving process and how it is going. Just think of how many toys Baggy will have when the cat tree gets moved. LOL I haven't crafted since the day of the move. Even though the movers were supposed to pack and label everything, it has been such a mess. Nearly every box has been mislabeled and/or things from multiple rooms thrown into a box. I am nearly done with my room and the kitchen but have 2 more boxes for the pantry that I don't know where I am going to put since the majority of it was stuff that only my mom used and she can't reach above the 4th shelf of most pantries. I can so relate to the being sore and bad bodyaches. Take care my friend. Love and hugs to you and Baggy. Dawn

I'm in a big transition right now too, and I want to be 25 again with that body and energy *haha* I appreciate hearing your excitement about having more space to exist in at the new place. So I know it's super weird bcuz you don't know me but wow I'm so PROUD of you! Just keeping up with these videos, putting yourself out there on the internet being real & honest, making big moves, dealing with cars & money & job as a solo woman. I am moving spaces also, and I have added some protein drinks & snacks because I was surviving on chips and PBJ - and I think it's helped my cognition. Keep 'em coming, Karla! xox

I cannot imagine moving! It sounds like a good life change for you, just the packing and unpacking is the unpleasant part. It does force a person to organize their stuff though. The best of luck and rest much as you can between dealing with moving!

I'm enjoying the hell out of this series. It's amazing that Dave is doing a reno before you move in, it'll be fantastic. So excited for both you and Lorraine. I'm glad you are going to have help packing, haha I'll admit when you first started talking about being overwhelmed with packing I went to see how much a flight from DTW->LAX so I could come help!! Sometimes I'm a bit much ;) I enjoyed hearing about the dishware, maybe you can show it to us when you get to unwrapping it. Love the rambly bits, Karla, keep it coming. So many of us are struggling with low energy, pain & feeling stuck - and look at you just being a MF ROCKSTAR & moving forward and showing us how to do it. Your mom raised a powerful woman! xox

Happy belated birthday. You’re so right about cats not liking change to their environment. I also have 2 autistic children who don’t cope well with change either, so when it comes to Christmas or other holidays I don’t tend to decorate much anyway, but my cat in particular has a huge dislike of Santa figures- I have a lovely Victorian type Santa but every time my cat sees it, he rushes past it like Santa’s the most dodgy guy ever! 😂 so that doesn’t come out now- my cat has had urinary issues before and stress doesn’t help with that so it’s best to just keep things same old same old. Good luck with your move and I hope Baggy doesn’t find it too stressful xx

Happy belated birthday! Our cat went straight from the cat carrier to my son's room and burrowed his way into my son's bed and basically stayed there for a good week/week and a half. She's just in the past few days come out and started roaming around the new house. Hopefully Baggy adjusted to the new place easily!

Chaos ... yes! Sadly, I got to a point (probably way too soon in the progress) where I just started throwing random things in boxes and sorting it out once I got to the new house (thankfully it was only 20 miles between houses!)

I'm playing catch up ... because I've been moving, LOL. You're right, it's a huge undertaking. I'm glad we've done it (still doing it, but we're almost there), but I've already told my kids I don't think I'm ever moving again, so they can clean out this house when I'm gone in 45-50 years, LOL. We lived in the house we moved from for 23 years ... as I'm sure you're finding out, it is amazing how much stuff accumulates over time. There has been a lot of purging and re-thinking of what I really want to keep -- crafting supplies included. I have decided that I am not allowed to purchase anymore craft supplies until some of what I have is used up. I have put in about 10 stitches over the past 2 weeks. I'm really hoping that tonight I can spend some time stitching!! I'm really glad this opportunity has come along for you! ~Katrina
