Monday, July 8 is my birthday. I just turned 63. Yes, I find everything is just a hugh chore. Everything seems to get on my nerves. Beautiful stitching! Love your crochet! I love your hair band! I love the beaded bag! I love your blanket. I like the edging. You could add another round of edging. Have a terrific week.

Thank you so much!! I think I will be debating (with myself) the edging on the blanket until I finally finish it. I am now considering adding pom poms to the corners (and possible the edge) and those would be multicolored.

It is really pretty easy. Basically you need to use two crochet hooks - one that is the correct size for your yarn and then a small one that the pony beads can fit over. You alternate rows - one row is half double crochet using the correct size hook, the next row you use the small hoook and alternate between half double crochet (using loose tension to mimic the larger hook) and a single crochet with the bead on the hook. For the beaded bag I just stitched in a spiral and when I adapted the stitch on to the headband I crocheted nine stitches onto a hair elestic and then at the end of each row I did a chain two and turn. I used a cotton yarn - which has no stretch so you need to make sure you measure your head - the elastic gives a little stretch underneath the hair but you still want to have it fit. When it is the right size crochet it onto the elastic again (making sure not to twist the band).

I just love the headband ! I hate cleaning too & I can’t physically do it anymore. I’m in a program (my health insurance) where they clean my apt. once a week (I pay nothing). I definitely find as I’m getting older EVERYTHING is hard for me & I can’t physically do a lot of things & I’m afraid of way more than even a few years ago. I live on the 10th floor of my bldg. and I go on my balcony & across the horizon I see tons of fireworks, some look like they are a few blocks away! Don’t apologize for anything-this is YOUR channel! Do whatever YOU want-I know I’m here for it all! I love seeing all your crocheting & anything you do I want to see. I love the bead bag-beautiful! The temperature blanket is so pretty. I think the border is really pretty. I LOVE the hot pink in Junes square. That triangle blanket is gorgeous! But I don’t know how you work with these heavy blankets in the summer. I love the hot pink too. The temp blanket is not heavy to work on becasue it is only onesmall square at a time and so far the triangle balanket has not been hot to work on. I don't really have it laying on my lap though.
Hi Karla! The headband looks great. I was basically a hermit over the 4th as well, other than going to the (groan) grocery store with mom and Walter on Saturday afternoon. Good God I hate grocery shopping and was so spoiled by Kroger's home delivery program. I don't like either of the grocery stores that are available to me now, Walmart or HEB, and feel like I can't find decent prices and their delivery charges are so much higher than Kroger's were. Wow, June's temperatures really are adding some great colors. Your triangle blanket is really progressing. Congrats on the FFO of the pillow. It looks so cool with the scrubbie yarn back. Also congrats on the almost complete FFO of DAD notes. The item you are talking about for Black Pearl is called a bell pull hanger. Stoney Creek has a large variety but you could probably find something on Amazon less expensive. I also wish we lived closer so we could get together. I admire your perseverance on Ella, especially stitching with colors you don't enjoy. You will figure out something with the discoloration since you are so very crafty figuring those things out. Hi Dawn. I don't know if things are the same for Amazon in your area, but I have found the Amazon grocery delivery to be good. It used to be free delivery with orders over $35, then that changed and it was only free if you ordered over $100. Recently they added a grocery Prime feature where you pay a flat $10 per month and all deliveries over $35 are free. This is for both the Amazon Fresh store and for Whole Foods (which is so expensive that I never shop there unless I need something I just can not get at the other stores). I usually have a $5 tip on my delivery set up also. It was worth it to me to sign up for the flat $10/month so I can put in smaller grocery orders and not pay a delivery fee. I just can not carry multiple bags of heavy groceries up the stairs so I sometimes will stop at a store on the way home from work but only for a very few items. I get most of my groceries delivered from Amazon.
Love the headband & the beads! Ur gonna get me crocheting eventually. Yes cascade is french for waterfall. from the Italian 'cascare' which is 'to fall'. I was curious so I looked it up. I have really been enjoying the crochet lately. It makes sense to my brain and it fits in well with cross stitching (and other needlework) I think. Any little stitich that has a future as a decorative pillow will have a crocheted back from now on I think. Maybe I will try out tunesian crochet too :-)

I am wondering if other people might want to join in with me and make it into a Crochet along (is that a CAL?) I feel like a bit of a fraud though because I am still very much a newbie crocheter so I have no business leading any kind of project

This is what I have figured out over my 76 years of experience so I am passing it on for you to think about. You know you have to take care of your apt problems so the sooner the better. Otherwise you will just make yourself sick over it. You are too good a person to worry about things so unnecessary when you can do something about it. Think about it and I wish you well.
