Sometimes LESS is MORE - 3 SIMPLE Exercises to Build BROAD Shoulders!
Broader shoulders are a key factor in achieving that sought-after V-taper, giving the illusion of a narrower waist and enhancing overall aesthetics. In this video, I’ll show you three simple exercises, each targeting the different heads of the shoulder to build a balanced, complete look. Better yet, you don't need access to any special machines - there are simple and effective dumbbell shoulder exercises you can use to add substantial muscle to your shoulders. I struggled for years to find shoulder exercises that felt comfortable for me, allowing me to really isolate the shoulder muscles, effectively overload them and have consistent gains. If you have struggled with shoulder growth, these exercises might just be the answer for you too!
We’ll break down the three heads of the shoulder: the anterior (front), lateral (middle), and posterior (rear) deltoids. While exercises like chest presses engage the anterior delts, and back rows target the rear delts, the middle delts often miss out on direct activation. That’s why it’s essential to incorporate specific movements to hit those middle delts and create broader, fuller shoulders. Watch to learn how you can build each head of the shoulder for a complete, balanced look!

Welcome! If you're new here, continue reading to learn more about me and my channel!
I am a husband, father, and pediatric physician - needless to say, my life is busy. I have always lived an active lifestyle, frequently involved in sports and going through phases of consistent strength training, but as I am sure many of you have experienced, life can easily get in the way of personal health and fitness. I have gone through various ups and downs relating to physical injuries, general life stressors, and mental health challenges which has all had an impact on my health and fitness goals and consistency. After a couple years with a lot of life changes and very little emphasis on healthy eating and regular physical activity, I have finally "gotten back on the horse" and resumed my health and fitness journey.
I hope you will join me on this adventure as I plan to use my personal experience and knowledge of exercise and nutrition to help educate and inspire YOU to improve yourself!

      @@Yoshikaable hey thanks, I appreciate the feedback! I’m glad you’ve enjoyed my videos. It can be hard to get back into things after a long time “off”, I found forcing myself to do “even just 5 minutes” of something was a great way to get me started and things kept rolling quickly after that. Even if you don’t care about the aesthetic appeal of muscle mass, I do strongly recommended incorporating some weight lifting because of the various health benefits of load bearing but also long term health out comes for those with more muscle mass - it’s like insurance for the future you to prevent become too frail and weak. You gotta find the type of exercises or lifting program that works for you but anything is better than nothing! Regarding creatine, I started taking kre alkalyn a couple years ago, as it's supposed to be buffered, which absorbs Better and causes less bloat. I don't see many people using this kind though, nor talking about it... What is your opinion on this type? Thanks for the informative videos!

      @@summersalix I haven’t come across it but I’ll look into it!

      @FitDadMD 2 місяці тому

      So from what I can tell, it’s not different in terms of the end result of creatine, but given some of its differences you can use lower doses and may have less side effects so those who don’t tolerate regular creatine monohydrate might do better on something like this. I’m not sure if there’s any studies directly comparing those 2 or not but as they have the same end result I’d expect the results to be the same as well. If it works for you roll with it. It seems like it’s more expensive potentially, but you’d have to compare how much the dose you take is too if you can get away with less dose. That’d be the only reason to consider trying monohydrate to see if it’s all the same for you potentially for a lower cost 🤷‍♂️

      @summersalix 2 місяці тому

      @@FitDadMD thank u! I wish there were studies comparing the two, as I hope I'm not missing out on any muscle gain, energy, or cognitive benefits, esp for the price. Creatine hcl is another popular one, but that one is quite icky taste wise!

    • @FitDadMD
      @FitDadMD 2 місяці тому

      @@summersalix yes I think creatine hcl has more studies comparing it and with equivalent dosing is the same as regular creatine, but you can take a smaller dose because it’s more bio available. Likely it’s the same for Kre Alkalyn. I did find one study comparing it to creatine, but instead of a more “equivalent dose” they used equal doses, so the alkalyn version would be giving a larger effective dose, and they noted a small difference with a larger benefit for alkalyn, but I didn’t see them break it down to see if it was a statistically significant difference or not.

      @@FitDadMD thank u so much for checking so thoroughly into this! You rock! Its good to know it's effective and I'm not being duped int paying more for a lesser effect. I take 5g a day... I could probably go lower due to the better availability, but mentally, anything lower than 5g doesn't seem worth it, lol. And I don't have a colon, so I'm always worried about absorption and hence tend to err on the side "just in case" Lol. Thanks again!

    Hey, really enjoying the videos! Great information and not too extreme for most people to easily follow. I'm back on a regular workout routine and eating better and your videos are helping to stay motivated and on track! By the way, audio is much better now! Next, I'd work on your lighting. A bit too dark in the kitchen. You could use a light to brighten up your left side a bit and get rid of the shadow causing the racoon eyes. Then in your workout room, the video is very washed out. If your using a DSLR adjust your ISO and aperture when changing from one shoot location to the next to adjust for the lighting. Lots of great YT videos on this if you need help. Keep up the great work!

      I took a closer look at your tips and even with some googling it’s over my head haha. I just film with my iPhone and unfortunately I don’t have any accessory lighting at this point. I could be more mindful of the lights I turn on and maybe change out the lights I have in my gym to see if that helps. Eventually getting some sort of added lighting is in my radar too. Any idea if what you suggested would apply to an iPhone? Haha
