Great hear your hard work is starting to pay off👍
Loved the outro, some problems are great problems 😅
@@MRW3455 yeah I certainly can’t complain……too much hahah!
If you're serious about the homebrew setup, can you send me a price for the full setup,I'd be very interested Thank you
@@andrewcoen3391 Hey Andrew, when I have a moment to get round to it, I’ll let you know, cheers!
I'm really enjoying your journey mate. Keep punching 👊
My Z&N plus a spare pressure and Temperature gauge came to £2236 from Oasthouse Engineering who are the UK distributors
@@richardclare561 that’s what I was afraid of…..gonna take a few casks to pay for that 🤣🤣🤣 cheers Richard, glad to know I have one of team following along!
It's still the cheapest one out there, a digital one starts at 4k and doesn't look anywhere near as cool!
Glad its coming together well, baby steps is a wise plan, be careful because as its just you at the moment you can't afford to burn yourself out. Slow and Steady 😁
@@MRW3455 it’s easy to get carried away with, I’ve been focused on keeping my own health and well being at heart, easier said than done but thank you for reminding me!
Glad the demand is surging....I'm following with a very keen interest
@@LekanMakanju I love that you’re following along Lekan! We’ll have to chat sometime 🍻
Thanks for the new update. How many litres/barrels are those big fermenters? Did you snag them up from the UK or China?
@@LekanMakanju hi Lekan! I’ve decided I’m going to do a video all about my unitanks soon……stay tuned! 🍻
No rush at all, take your time 😊
Hey bud, lovinf your journey from Horizon to here. Am a wannabe brewer in Nigeria so your channel is a repatoire of knowledge for me. Is ur brewery on fb, X etc?
Hey Lekan, thank you for following along! I’m on Instagram (I post a lot on there) and I’ve just started a Facebook page. No X yet, any questions feel free to shoot me a message :)
That is no small achievement, well done mate. Glad it went down so well 👍
Thank you! yeah it was a huge relief!
Just had my first pint of Sun bear pale, On at the lazy landlord pub in Wallasey (14th june) very nice
Thanks for letting me know! I’m currently having a pint of it in West Kirby, I live in Liscard so may pop down later on, cheers 🍻
Awesome! Great looking pint😋
cheers Richard, over the moon with how it came out!
Congratulations absolutely fantastic really pleased for you cheers 👍🍻
Thank you Rick (as always)
Love watching your journey. Well done Liam!!! Onwards and upwards.
Cheers Chris 🍻
I was 50% of the two guys who had it the day before and came back! Excellent beer, let me know when you are sending some down South.
Ahh brilliant!! Thank you so much for your support and for watching, yeah absolutely. Hopefully my brewery grows quickly that I can start selling round the country!
Congratulations really pleased for you
Cheers Richard 🍻
Well done, matey. Enjoying your content. I'd love to get some of my beers in a pub like that. I know you've done this in video but do you have a written list of the things you needed to do for a brewers license and what had a cost associated with it?
Cheers Richard! I don’t at the moment but it’s essentially, register as a brewer with HMRC (BPH1 form I think), notify local council for food standards, register as a holder of beer in duty suspension. No real cost involved to be honest.
Oh and AWRS form!!
Congrats mate! I think we all have yhat little dream to see our beers in a pub
Yeah you’re not wrong! Thank you 🍻
Well done, need to get some over to cask micro pub so I can have an excuse to go over, cheers 🍻
Cheers Kevin, just sticking with the Wirral for now until I can increase my capacity!
nice man! CONGRATS!!
Cheers mate, thank you 🍻
Really pleased for you Liam. Congrats!! 🍻🍻🍻
Thanks Brett 🍻
Congratulations fella, all the hard work is paying off, no stopping you now.
Absolutely! See what I can do with it now
Well done dude 👏 I hope to replicate this myself this year 👍
I’m sure you will mate, looking forward to seeing your journey! Cheers 🍻
Congrats man!
Cheers James!
Great Job!
Cheers mate 🍻
Very much enjoying the progress, can't wait for more updates.
Cheers! I’ve been enjoying your content too, on this journey at the same time it seems. Reach out for a chat anytime 🍻
@@sunbearbrewing will do, thanks fella, just need to get over my unitank envy 🤣
Fascinating journey you’re having, thanks for sharing.
I’ve learnt a lot from so many other UA-camrs, hoping I can do the same for others, cheers Ian 🍻
Fair play mate a lot of graft brewing on this scale at home and also going commercial with distribution. Hats off fella. Can't wait to try the bears only in Wrexham so not far at all 🍻 cheers Damon (Raveyardbrew)
Cheers Damon! I really appreciate that, yeah it’s not easy 😅 oh fantastic, I might see you at the craft beer expo next weekend then?
@@sunbearbrewing yea I bet mate! Brewery looks ace. Yea I'm planning on going the Saturday afternoon what day you going?
@@MrDManuel thank you! I’ve got a ticket for the whole weekend but definitely Thursday and Saturday
Awesome mate might see you on the Saturday then 👍🍻
Hugely respect anyone who takes the hard decision to not sell something you're not happy with. I appreciate how much time, money and love goes into making beer, but I've seen too many sell problematic beer, and it come back to bite them.
Thank you! yeah they were my thoughts exactly and especially when just starting out, don't want bars locally not wanting to take my beer.
Oh Liam I can feel the pain 😂
Haha cheers Andy 🤣🤣
Brillant👍
Cheers Richard, thanks for watching 🍻
Loving what you’re putting out keep it up cheers 👍🍻
Thanks Rick 🍻
you forgot brooks brewhouse and peerless :D
Peerless I know, should've remembered! Brooks brewhouse however? I'll have to search that one
Love the set up, planning on starting homebrew myself in a few weeks. Looking forward to seeing some brew day videos to learn some tips and tricks!
I’ll try my best to keep them coming. My next video is another brewday, hopefully you’ll pick up a few things, thanks for watching mate 🍻
Pleased that brew day went better nice one cheers 👍🍻
Cheers Rick, starting to find my feet a bit now 🍻
Excellent work!
Thank you 🍻
Just found your channel and been having a bit of catch up. Very interesting so far and I'm looking forward to seeing how you progress and hopefully sampling a beer soon.
Cheers Richard, thanks for following along! Fingers crossed it’s not too far away before I can start selling my own beers
What % apparent fermentation are you free rising at? I’d also if you can look at dry hopping then dropping the bottoms off the tank every 3 days or so to get the hop material that’s in the cone off the beer. Might help you in the long run.
For the first batch I let it free rise from pitching temp (16/17c) to 20 but I’ve changed this slightly now. Yeah that’s a great point, I decided to change my process back to my normal one from this batch moving forwards. Definitely going to be dropping the cone more frequently though! Cheers Ben 🍻
Sad to see beer go to waste but the right decision if it's not right like you say for your first batch going into pubs you want it to be right and give yourself a good showcase. Good learning opportunity better now than when you've got people waiting on a order 🍻 look forward to the next brew mate
Cheers Jamie, everything happens for a reason so fingers crossed it’s a lesson that’s put me on the right track, thanks for watching🍻
That's the right decision. If you're not happy then you cant expect others to be happy. It's the brave choice. And the main thing is you've learned a hell of alot about the new process and equipment. You'll crack it in the next batch!
Yeah exactly my thought as well Scott, cheers mate 🍻
Think it's more normal than not, to toss a first batch or just not sell it. I have noticed with my homebrewing setup, that anytime I change a piece of stainless on the hot side, or fermenter, there is a slight metallic taste no matter what. The second batch is much better and by the third, I start to get the true flavors that are expected.
That’s a really good point and I hadn’t considered that to be fair, you’ve made me feel a bit better about the situation haha, cheers!!
Great seeing you pull all this together at garage scale. Who do you get your chemicals from?
Cheers Richard! I get them from Murphy and Son 🍻
Thanks, my garage brewery is about 6 months behind you!
Gutted, but that’s the way, learn and get right back on it! Really respect the decision to dump it, like you say that first batch is what you will be Jussie’s on. Keep going!
Absolutely, trying to keep that mindset and I appreciate that, thank you! 🍻
That's unfortunate man but part of the game in my opinion. I know times hard but you must only send out beers you're confident and proud off. The first impression of your beer to your customers is utmost importance. Goodluck man! Been following along your journey.
Cheers James! Yeah you’re spot on and I knew that deep down, appreciate the support mate, cheers 🍻
On the return from the CFC I have added an adjustable dip tube this points the return to the top of the BT tank and then speeds up the cooling process
That’s a good idea David, I might add that to my shopping list, cheers and thanks for watching 🍻
If you’re not happy with it then its the right decision not to send it out, definitely make that first batch one you can be proud of 👍🏻
Cheers Tricky, yeah you’re right mate, had to get my business hat on straight away here, cheers 🍻
Congratulations on your first commercial brew day 👍🍻
Cheers Rick, it was an exciting and stressful time 🤣
Absolutely loving following your journey. Another really interesting video, good luck with the brew day cheers 👍🍻
Another option to help with knockout temps. If you're groundwater temp is high, run it through a small plate chiller or spare counterflow chiller hooked up to glycol. Then run that now chilled water through the BT counter flow to chill your wort. And bonus would be to combine that with the other suggestion of reducing temp futrher in the uni before pitching.
Useful info , going through similar stuff , next up for me is awrs. I’m in Flintshire so not too far , best of luck and keep them videos coming 👍
Hey John, oh great, what's your brewery called? thanks for following along
